J. Cole Says He’s Made Peace With Retiring

J. Cole has always been ridiculously selective about who he decides to work with on his music. It’s been a running joke that the rapper continues to go platinum without any features on his albums. Despite his obvious aversion to diluting his craft by lending his bars to other people’s songs, J. Cole said during his freshly released documentary Applying Pressure: The Off-Season that he has accepted his upcoming retirement, telling the world that he wants to do more features before he steps out.

Back when he mysteriously hinted at his retirement following the release of his studio album The Fall Off, which is coming after The Off-Season, Cole had the world wondering when he would be hanging up his microphone. It’s still unclear when exactly Cole will be retiring but in his new documentary, he says that he is at peace with his decision.

“You wanna look back and be like, you didn’t work with nobody? You didn’t have no songs with nobody and you’re just cool with that? No? Okay, so start saying yes to some features,” said the rapper in the doc when discussing his legacy. “Similarly, it was like that with letting people know, The Off-Season, It’s A Boy, The Fall-Off is coming. Now that the possibility of not doing this shit seems real and I’m at peace with that, don’t have a regret.”

J. Cole’s new documentary launched earlier today and it has already been viewed nearly 500,000 times. In addition to his big week in music, J. Cole is also making his debut as a professional basketball player, signing with the Patriots in Rwanda over the weekend.

Stay tuned for J. Cole’s basketball debut and his new album this week!

Union x Air Jordan 4 “Desert Moss” Coming This Summer: First Look

Union has been a staple in the Los Angeles sneaker scene for a long time now…30 years to be exact. The boutique is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year and once again, they are teaming up with Jordan Brand where they are about to deliver two more Air Jordan 4 colorways to the masses. There was a Union x Jordan 4 collab back in 2020 but now, two more offerings are on the way as part of the 30th birthday party festivities.

The first colorway to be revealed was the “Taupe Haze” model which mostly has muted colors that are a bit odd for an Air Jordan 4. Now, @Suave95654754 on Twitter is showing off the “Desert Moss” model which is just as odd, although much more eccentric overall. The shoe has a purple base all while the overlays have this yellow and green moss mixture which definitely helps the shoe live up to its name. There is a bit of turquoise on the tongue but aside from that, the yellow and purple are what truly make the shoe pop.

For now, it seems as though the “Desert Moss” and “Taupe Haze” models will be dropping in the summer although this is subject to change. Keep it locked to HNHH as we continue to bring you the latest from the world of sneakers.

Lakers To Receive 9-Part Historical Docuseries On Hulu

One of the most legendary sports teams in the history of the world is the Los Angeles Lakers. While they started out in Minnesota, the Lakers eventually found their way to Los Angeles and immediately became one of the greatest franchises ever. They are tied with the Boston Celtics for most NBA championships all time and they have a ton of incredible dynasties and eras to choose from.

With this in mind, it should be absolutely no surprise that the team is getting its very own 9-part docuseries on Hulu. This new series is being co-signed by Jeanie Buss, and the whole premise will take place following her father’s purchase of the team in 1979.

Per Press Release:

“The series details the past four decades of the Lakers, and contains colorful and emotional new interviews from over 35 people within the organization, including the Buss family, legendary coaches Pat Riley and Phil Jackson, and NBA Hall of Famers Magic Johnson, Shaquille O’Neal and team captain Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, among numerous other current and former players. Also featured are interviews with a range of high-profile fans and a treasure trove of archival footage featuring never-before-seen interviews with the Lakers late owner, Jerry Buss.”

Post-1979 is when the Lakers truly had all of their success so it shouldn’t come as a surprise that the documentary will mostly focus on that time period. In this docuseries, we will get to see the Kareem, Magic, Shaq, Kobe, and LeBron eras, which will certainly make for a truly incredible spectacle.

At this time, there is no release date for the docuseries although it should be coming to Hulu in 2022.

Yaya Mayweather Calls Out Johnny Dang For Allegedly Saying N-Word In Lil Pump Video

Celebrity jeweler Johnny Dang is being called out by Yaya Mayweather and hundreds of others who believe he used a racial slur in one of his recent videos with rapper Lil Pump. In the video, Dang is being accused of using the n-word.

“This is my boy here, he’s so rich man, he got–,” said the jeweler in the video, but many have misheard the Houston-based jeweler. Yaya Mayweather is supposedly under the impression that he said, “He’s so rich, my n***a.”

“Are we just going to skip the fact he said the N word,” asked Yaya when she reposted the video to her story on Instagram. Johnny Dang’s comments are filled with people asking about the alleged slip-up, despite the fact that he doesn’t appear to have actually used the word. Others are saying that Lil Pump should also be held accountable for his use of the word. Pump is of Colombian descent. Johnny Dang was born in Vietnam.

Do you think that the jeweler used a racial slur in the video or are people hearing him incorrectly? Watch it below and let us know.

In other news involving Lil Pump, the rapper recently shared that one of his cars was vandalized at his home, posting a video of the damages and threatening the vandals. “I’m gonna be here for the next three-four days. Come back to my house so I can blow your f*cking head off,” he said. Read more about that here.

Lil Nas X Admits He Thought Billie Eilish Winning A Grammy Over Him Wasn’t ‘Fair’

At the 2020 Grammy Awards, Lil Nas X was nominated for six awards and he ended up winning a couple, taking home the prizes for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance and Best Music Video (both for “Old Town Road”). Of the four losses, the one that hurt him the most was Record Of The Year, which went to “Bad Guy” by Billie Eilish (who notably won all four major Grammys that year) instead of his own “Old Town Road.” In a new cover story for British GQ Style, the rapper admits that initially, he was jealous of Eilish for her win and thought it wasn’t “fair” that his record-breaking single didn’t get the award.

He said that as Eilish accepted the award, he thought, “Damn, but how? I have the biggest song. That isn’t fair.” Months later while in lockdown, though, he reflected on that evening and found a different point of view. He said, “I put all that energy I was feeling onto her. It became jealousy that wasn’t warranted. You have the longest-running number one song, why the f*ck are you jealous about this award? We are already so blessed. Even if you don’t have these things, you’re here. You’re still alive. You exist. You shouldn’t have any reason to be jealous.”
