Former G-Unit Member Explains How Mazaradi Fox Saved His Life

Years removed from their tenure with the label, former members of the 00s hip-hop collective G-Unit have since discussed tales of their time. In an interview with VLAD TV late last year, Yung Buck came forward with multiple tales of how he was sabotaged within G-Unit and how his problems with co-founder 50 Cent escalated.

He claimed Fifty blocked him and former G-Unit members from partaking in a multi-million dollar deal before eventually dashing all hope of a potential reunion. Now, former member Hot Rod is speaking of his experiences and time spent under the imprint. This week, the artist appeared on the FlipDaScript podcast to open up about the issues he had with people around 50 Cent.

In this 40 minute segment of the three-hour-long plus interview, things mainly centered around his dislike for former G-Unit Records manager Hovain, whom he believed sabotaged his career.

He further discussed how he believed other people in Queens, like Gunit, started to like him less after he received a co-sign for Fifty. Elsewhere, he got into how he was kicked out of 50 Cent’s mansion and how the late Mazaradi Fox helped save his life during his beef with Jimmy Henchmen.

Henchmen is an American entertainment industry executive and convicted drug trafficker and murderer charged in connection with the death of former 50 Cent associate Lowell “Lodi Mack” Fletcher.

Kodak Black Reveals New Project “Haitian Boy Kodak” Release Date & Cover Art

Kodak Black may have lost some favor among the hip-hop community after pleading guilty to a recent assault charge, which led to lots of scrutiny on social media, but he’s trying to gain it back the same way he earned it in the first place: with his music.

The Florida rapper recently announced his upcoming new music, teasing a fresh pack at the end of this week. Along with a preview of his new song “Thermillia,” Kodak unveiled his cover artwork for the project. While it has not been announced whether this is an album, mixtape, or an EP, many are expecting this to be an EP with a few songs. Yak wears all-red on the cover, showing love to his Haitian roots with traditional prayer candles on the ground and more.

Haitian Boy Kodak will be released on May 14. It follows up the release of Bill Israel last year.

This week, Kodak caught the attention of thousands by getting a new tattoo in red ink over his eyelids. The ink spells out “Red Rum,” or “Murder” backward. He also recently squashed his feud with Pooh Shiesty, so there’s a chance they could be working together on new music soon.

Stay tuned for Haitian Boy Kodak on Friday.

Lloyd Banks Continues Fueling “COTI” Album Hype

It has been over eleven years since Lloyd Banks delivered a studio album, with his final effort having been The Hunger For More 2 in November 2010. Though Banks has filled the void with several mixtapes, many have been eager to see another complete album from the Punchline King — especially in recent years, with gritty bar-driven rap returning to the forefront through artists like Conway, Benny The Butcher, Westside Gunn, Freddie Gibbs, ad more.

Luckily, it would appear that Lloyd Banks has finally declared it time. Shortly after Banks returned with a teaser trailer for his upcoming COTI project, his manager Hovain confirmed that the album was “101% done.” Now, Banks has followed up with even more hype-inducing news, changing his Twitter profile picture to “#COTI” and all but cementing that a release of new music is imminent.

As of now, the meaning of the acronym has yet to be unveiled, but it’s likely something unexpected — especially considering Banks put 10k on the line for whoever is first to guess it correctly. Hopefully, Banks can come through with some concrete details before long, as many have been eagerly awaiting to see potential guest verses and production credits. Should you be among those eager for COTI news, be sure to check out the brief teaser trailer Banks released at the beginning of May.

Are you excited to see a new album from Lloyd Banks, his first studio release in over a decade? And if so, who do you want to see him collaborate with?

Maya Angelou To Be Honored On Quarters

Maya Angelou passed away back in 2014, however, the famed poet will forever be immortalized for her contributions to the world of poetry. The U.S. Mint will take more affirmative steps in cementing Angelou’s legacy by honoring on quarters as part of a new American Women Quarters Program. The poet and NASA Astronaut Sally Ride will be featured on the back of coins set to debut in January and remain in circulation through 2025.

In a statement, U.S. Representative Barbara Lee explained, “for too long, many of the women who have contributed to our country’s history have gone unrecognized, especially women of color.”

She added that the women, “paved the way for many who came after them and inspired young women to carry on their legacy.” The U.S. Mint announced the women would be the first two honorees in the series, adding the front of the quarter, “will continue to feature a likeness of George Washington designed in a manner to distinguish it from the current image.”

Sen. Deb Fischer and Sen. Catherine Cortez Masto introduced the legislation into Congress that helped create the American Women Quarters Program. In an opinion piece in USA Today, the women explained that “as female U.S. senators, our story would not have been possible without these women who came before us.”

“We look forward to being reminded of their legacies every time we see their faces on a new quarter,” they wrote.

The federal bureau is also encouraging people who want to nominate women to be featured on the upcoming quarters should do so at this online portal.

Pooh Shiesty Responds To Alleged Sex Tape With Trans Woman

Memphis rapper Pooh Shiesty is understanding the perils of fame after getting caught in two scandals at the same damn time. This week, the “Back In Blood” rapper was called out by Youngboy Never Broke Again’s ex-girlfriend Jania Meshell, who claimed that Pooh had slid into her DMs. He has denied having any romantic involvement with the influencer. In addition to that story, Shiesty is also being questioned on social media after a transgender woman posted an explicit video with a rapper who many have theorized could be him. The man has a similar skin complexion and was wearing 1017 chains.

“Wit yo favorite rapper! Literally! Thanks for the AP DADDY,” wrote the woman in the video, who is hawking the full version on her OnlyFans. In the clip, she rubs the man’s bare chest and shows off her ice. People have commented on the video, claiming that her watch is not an AP. Others have shared side-by-side comparison photos of Pooh’s 1017 chains and the man’s jewelry from the video, pointing out that there’s a good chance the rapper in the video is wearing fake ice

Pooh responded to the drama on Twitter, saying, “Go Play with somebody who ain’t gone kill you. And on that man on my face I ain’t comment that.  that’s my response.” In a since-deleted post, he added, “Can’t no internet tell u who I’m f*cking.”

Cordae Launches His Own Record Label

Over the past few years, there has been a noted rise in ownership mentality in hip-hop, with an artist’s master recordings being chief among the most valuable assets. As such, many young rappers have shifted their philosophies toward the industry, taking it upon themselves to forge new paths and secure sustainable financial longevity.

It would appear that Cordae is looking to readjust the way he maneuvers, officially confirming the creation of his own record label Hi Level Productions. The recently launched Instagram profile is described as “a family, way of life, and Record Label, 100% owned by @cordae.” It’s unclear as to how this new label will function alongside his existing deal with Atlantic Records, but it’s likely that Cordae will be looking to release his own new music — as well as that of any potential signees — through this new venture.

Speaking of new music, Cordae recently confirmed that his next “body of work,” presumably an album, will be titled From A Bird’s Eye View. Fans might recognize the title from Just Until closer “Thornton Street,” where he foreshadowed the name. It will be interesting to see if project is released exclusively on Hi Level, or if Atlantic remains in the fold for the time being.

Check out Cordae’s new label below, and sure to give the page a follow if you’re interested in what the young rapper is bringing to the table. Are you excited to see how this new development helps Cordae elevate to the next stage of his career?

Donald Glover On “Boring” TV: “People Are Afraid Of Getting Canceled”

Donald Glover recently returned to Twitter and other social media after an extended hiatus on the app. The multi-hyphenate seems to purely have his television gloves on, returning to the platforms to share development updates on the third season of his Emmy-winning series AtlantaHe set Twitter ablaze on Tuesday morning (May 11) after he allegedly suggested “cancel culture” was responsible for boring films and TV.

He started the late-night thread by explaining he saw people on the site having a discussion about being tired of “reviewing boring stuff (tv & film).” He continued, “We’re getting boring stuff and not even experimental mistakes(?) because people are afraid of getting canceled.”

“So they feel like they can only experiment w/ aesthetic. (also because some of em know theyre not that good),” he finished in the final tweet. While it seems like the widespread understanding of his claims was in regards to movies and TV shows being canceled, some believe he was speaking about cancel culture.

One user pointed out, “Donald Glover is talking about shows literally getting canceled off the air and off networks. Not canceled by media and society. Please use your brains.”

On the flip side, some users believe the Grammy winner was in fact talking about cancel culture. “I agree. Donald chose his words very carefully but he 100% is talking about cancel culture. And the cancel culture brigade dropped on him. Poetic really,” penned another user in response to someone suggesting the same thing.

Either way, the debate over what the Atlanta star actually meant sparked hot debate on the platform about how authentic “cancel culture” really is. What’s your take? Let us know down in the comments.

Nicki Minaj Causes 4,900% Spike In Pink Crocs Sales: Report

Despite her posting only once in the last seven days, it’s been a pretty dominant week for Nicki Minaj. The living legend teased her upcoming musical comeback by telling her fans to tune in at the end of the week, hinting that she could be dropping a new single or project. As we patiently wait to find out what she’s releasing (while listening to “LLC” on repeat), fans of the 38-year-old have been boosting sales for footwear brand Crocs, buying up tons of stock after the superstar rapper showed off a pair of pink clogs in her return pictures.

The demand for pink Crocs has spiked tremendously in the last twenty-four hours with shocking numbers being reported by The Sole Supplier. According to the UK-based sneaker community, Nicki’s post personally contributed to a 4,900% growth in sales for pink Crocs. That much can be confirmed by the number of Barbz that have shared their receipts from the online Crocs shop, buying up multiple pairs of shoes, which were described as “ugly” a few years ago. The tide has turned with Crocs currently making a serious comeback, complementing Nicki’s own return. Nicki had her clogs fully customized with Chanel Jibbitz.

With people like Justin Bieber, Post Malone, and so many others hopping on the Crocs wave, it looks like comfort has become a priority once again in fashion.

Check out her pictures above and let us know if you scooped up a pair for yourself.
