Lakers’ Ben McLemore Uninjured Following Single Car Crash

Ben McLemore has been a solid addition to the Los Angeles Lakers roster this season and there have been some moments in which he’s come up huge. Perhaps the best example was just last month as the Lakers defeated the Brooklyn Nets with LeBron James or Anthony Davis. McLemore shined in that game and as the Lakers head to the playoffs, they are excited to see what he can do while coming off the bench.

According to TMZ, McLemore, unfortunately, got into a car accident on Thursday morning just hours after his team beat the Golden State Warriors in the play-in round. The car crash took place in Playa Vista, California after McLemore accidentally stepped on the gas instead of his breaks. Luckily, the NBA player was uninjured and his vehicle was the only one involved.

Based on the report, McLemore was given a sobriety test which he ended up passing immediately. In the end, it was simply an unfortunate accident that tends to happen on the road from time to time. He was not ticketed, nor was he arrested for what happened.

Car accidents can always be scary, and we are happy that McLemore is doing okay. Stay tuned to HNHH for more news from around the NBA.

Police Sued After Mistaking Ashes Of Black Man’s 2 Year Old Daughter For Drugs: Report

The Springfield, Illinois police department is under heavy fire. Police bodycam footage and a controversial lawsuit have both hit the media, and people are expressing their grief for Dartavius Barnes. Barnes can be seen in bodycam footage, which begins with him already cuffed in the backseat of a police car. The cops can be seen taking marijuana from his vehicle. The police also claim that they tested a substance in a jar that came back positive as meth, to Barnes’ shock. He then repeatedly asks the police to show him what they tested. Finally, the cops bring him the sample.

Immediately you can hear the anguish in Barnes’ voice as he pleads, “No, no, no, bro, that’s my daughter!” After reassuring the police, who appear to know him, the cops say they will test it again. “Please give me my daughter” begs Barnes as the police officer goes to speak with his superiors about the situation. “It did look like it field-tested for meth” says the officer, sounding much less sure about this “test” at this point. Possibly seeing the error in the situation, the officer says he will give the remains to Barnes’ father, who can be heard (and seen) standing up for his son. You can later hear one cop saying that he was present when the coroner told him his daughter had passed, which is how he knows Barnes and can confirm the story is true.

Barnes’ daughter was two years old, and passed away last year due to neglect. She was found wrapped in a urine-soaked blanket and malnourished. The child’s mother, T’wanka Davis, and Davis’ boyfriend were found guilty of murder and were both sentenced to decades in prison. Barnes is not suing the police, saying that they opened the urn and spilled his daughter’s contents. “I’m just going to give him a notice to appear on the weed,” you can hear one cop say. in the video. Another responds, “Aside from pissed off dad and testing the dead baby ashes.” A jury trial is scheduled for August 2022 for the lawsuit.

The Alchemist Says He Hid Album On YouTube Under Different Moniker

The Alchemist has been in the midst of an incredibly prolific run these past few years. His catalog stems back to the 90s but his recent releases have been a testament to his timeless sound, especially after working with the current heavyweights in rap. Despite the acclaim and accolades, Alc’ maintains a mysterious presence in the game. So much so that fans are in the midst of scouring through the internet for a lost tape, of sorts.

The legendary producer dropped a bombshell on his fans this morning revealing that he and another unnamed artist released an album under a fake name under a completely different YouTube page that no one has yet to discover. “We hid a whole album on youtube under a fake name and youtube page . Fake album cover, song titles, the whole 9. Nobody found it yet,” he tweeted.

Fans immediately started tweeting links in the replies, though there are certainly a large amount of them who were simply trying to finesse his fans into checking out their music.

It appears that the project in question was first teased as a collaborative effort with Earl Sweatshirt over two years ago. A fan dug up a tweet from Jan. 2019 where The Alchemist responded to a fan who asked when they would be able to get a collaborative body of work with Earl. “We did one and dropped it already under a fake name. Youtube. Go find it. You are the one,” he wrote.

Soulja Boy Claims Bow Wow Verzuz Battle Is Official

Soulja Boy is one of the internet’s greatest characters and when it comes to his catalog, fans know exactly what he’s accomplished. Soulja is responsible for some of the most memorable hits from the late 2000s and even in 2021, Soulja is still making big moves. Over the last few weeks, he has been reminding people of his place in the game, and fans have been reminiscing about his biggest hits. As a result, Soulja is looking to prove himself among his peers, and this hunger led to an exchange between himself and Bow Wow.

The two contemplated doing a Verzuz battle against one another, and now, it seems like this battle has been made official. Last night, Bow Wow was in the club on Facetime with Soulja Boy and in the clip, they claimed that a Verzuz battle would go down on June 26th which is next month. To add credence to this, Soulja took to Twitter today, telling his fans that the battle was official.

Timbaland and Swizz Beatz have yet to confirm whether or not this is actually going to go down, however, the tweet and the clip above are promising indications of the future. These are two artists who helped grow throughout the internet age, and for now, it seems as though they are evenly matched. Not to mention, a battle between these two would bring about a ton of entertainment and probably some viral clips as well.

In the meantime, be sure to check out our interview with Soulja Boy, which can be found right here.

LeBron James Has Simple Reaction To Ja Morant’s Heroics

Last night was huge for the NBA as the Golden State Warriors and Memphis Grizzlies played to determine who would get the final playoff spot. In the end, it was the Grizzlies who came out on top despite a 39-point effort from the likes of Steph Curry. Ja Morant truly shined throughout the game and he was certainly a big factor in the overtime quarter as he scored a bucket late to secure the win. Morant will now be headed to the playoffs for the first time in his career and he will have a lot to prove against the Utah Jazz.

The entire NBA world was watching last night’s game, including LeBron James who has never been shy to show love to the younger generation, unlike some other generational superstars. In fact, in the midst of Morant’s heroics, LeBron simply tweeted “JA!” in jubilation of what the young star was doing.

LeBron has acknowledged his admiration for Morant in the past and even noted that his kids are huge fans of the Grizzlies star. When guys like LeBron retire, Ja will be one of the players to take over the league and we’re sure he’s going to make the Grizzlies a contender in just a few years from now.

Needless to say, we’re all very excited for what Morant has the potential to do in these playoffs.

Ja Morant Shows Massive Respect To Steph Curry After Play-In Game

Ja Morant won rookie of the year last season and for good reason. He proved himself to be an exceptional scorer who can take control of a game whenever he wants, all while dazzling the fans with highlight-reel plays. Last night, Morant brought his game to the next level as he bested the likes of Steph Curry in a winner-take-all game that would determine who gets to go to the playoffs. Morant led his Grizzlies to an overtime win, and now, they will get to play on Sunday.

After the game, Morant showed love to Curry on Twitter with a nice little post acknowledging just how great Steph was this season. In fact, Morant made sure to comment on the MVP race, noting that Curry definitely deserves the honor. “Definitely my fav matchup by far, now give him dat MVP award,” Ja wrote.

The Grizzlies will have a tough test in the first round as they will take on the Utah Jazz who finished with the best record in the entire league. Despite this solid regular season result, the Jazz have yet to prove they can win in a seven-game series, and this latest matchup will create a nice opportunity to prove the doubters wrong.

As for Ja Morant, he will be heading to the playoffs for the first time, and we’re sure it’s going to lead to a lot of phenomenal highlights.

Death Row Reissues “Above The Rim” OST

Death Row might not be in the hands of Suge Knight anymore but the label’s legacy lives on forever. The era where Death Row dominated was short in comparison to others but its impact produced classic hip-hop records that have withstood the test of time. Earlier this year, it was announced that eOne Music (under the Hasbro umbrella) was sold to Blackstone following their acquisition of the label in 2019. However, they’re still moving forward with celebrating the label’s 30th anniversary.

Following the launch of “The Death Row Experience” earlier this month, Death Row Records have re-issed the 1994 soundtrack for Above The Rim. The re-mastered edition of the project includes original tracks plus three rare singles including 2Pac’s “Pain.”

Lil Nas X Explained The Title Behind His Latest Single ‘Sun Goes Down’

After setting the internet ablaze with this last single, “Montero (Call Me By Your Name),” as well as its accompanying video and pair of Satan Shoes, Lil Nas X returned with his latest release, “Sun Goes Down.” The new track has proven to be far less controversial than the last one, but it was one of his most honest songs to date. Hours after he dropped the track, Lil Nas took to Twitter to explain its title.

“I named the song ‘sun goes down’ because i feel like at night is when those thoughts you try to avoid really start to hit and you can’t escape them,” he wrote in a post. The track finds the singer singing about depression and suicidal thoughts, his decision to come out as gay, and his current satisfaction with how everything in his life has panned out.

The song did spark a brief moment of controversy after fans of Nicki Minaj were not happy that it features Lil Nas namedropping her. He’s been well-documented as a big fan of Minaj, which he addressed in the song, singing, “I’d be by the phone / Stanning Nicki mornin’ into dawn / Only place I felt like I belonged / Strangers make you feel so loved, you know?” He explained the reference in a tweet and promised not to use the rapper’s name in any of his future songs.

“To the barbz who feel i’m using nicki’s name for attention, the song i released last night was recorded last year,” he wrote. “And it’s about my life which 6 of those years were dedicated to nicki. it’s no fake love. but i understand how it looks so i will no longer mention her.”
