Quotable Lyrics:

Feel it in my system, coming to my head
In this life of mine, I just wanna see you dead

Making all this money on my boss shit
Yeah, everything I do, I keep a profit
N***as act like hoes, tryna gossip
Meet me outside, tryna mosh pit
Bro, I got the stick, tryna blitz shit
Body on the ground, it’s a wig split

Swizz Beatz Reflects On DMX Pimping Out A Rental Car: “X Was Just Different”

DMX’s highly anticipated posthumous album, Exodus, finally arrived today (May 28), featuring guest appearances from Nas, Jay-Z, Snoop Dogg, The Lox, and many more. Prior to its arrival however, longtime friend and producer, Swizz Beatz, held a private listening party for friends and industry folk alike on Thursday night. During the event, Swizz took some time out to say a few words about his fallen brother and remembered a funny story about X once pimping out his rental car. Swizz said X put rims and tints on his rental ride, even though he was giving it back.

“He’s the same person who rented a car and then fucking bought rims to put on a rented car — rims, put tint, wrapped the car,” Swizz Beatz told HipHopDX. “I said, ‘Dog, you rentin’ the car. What you doing?”

“He said, ‘Ah it’s mine right now. When I give it back to them, if they want to take it off, fuck it.’ He rented a car and decked it out like it was his. Like he just didn’t even care.”

Continuing on, Swizz added that X was just a different type of person. “X was just different. He was a philanthropist. He was a people’s person. A lot of people like to lead with a lot of negativity with our culture and our music, but X was just different. Even the things he got locked up for, they weren’t like big things. They were little things. You never heard of him hurting people. X was a real serious people. He was getting in trouble for stupid shit. He was a teddy bear. He was a good guy.”

DMX passed away on April 9 at White Plains Hospital after suffering from a heart attack and overdose. He was 50 years young. RIP X. Listen to his new album here.

Larry June Shares “You Gotta” Ahead Of Forthcoming Album “Orange Print”

Earlier this month, Larry June treated fans with his first single of 2021. Titled “Wait On Me,” the smooth cut was the Bay Area rapper’s first release since his full-length project Numberslast December, and the introspective and melodic single has already amassed over half of a million views on YouTube alone. Today, Larry June is determined to keep that momentum going with the release of another new track called “You Gotta.”

Produced by Cardo, “You Gotta” is a breezy single that finds Larry June in a motivational, yet braggadocious state. Throughout the three-minute cut, Larry offers plenty of inspiring lines that urge listeners to persevere, dodge naysayers, and stay focused on their goals. Still, the prolific artist finds plenty of opportunities to boast about his financial success, relationships with women, and luxurious lifestyle.

If you’ve been feeling the Bay Area rapper’s output as of late, get excited because “You Gotta” is set to appear alongside “Wait On Me” on Larry’s forthcoming album Orange Print, which releases on June 11 via Empire.

Watch the swanky music video for Larry June’s latest single “You Gotta” below.

Julius Randle Goes Off On Fan Who Spat At Trae Young

Wednesday night’s slate of NBA games brought forth a couple of fan incidents that have since led to indefinite bans. The first incident in question involved a fan pouring popcorn on Russell Westbrook’s head. The second incident took place at Madison Square Garden as a Knicks fan spat at Trae Young. It was a truly disgusting display and the league is making sure to take action against people who disrespect the players in such obscene ways.

Recently, Knicks star Julius Randle was asked about what happened and what he thought about the whole thing. As you can imagine, Randle was quite disgusted by it and he noted that the fan who did it should face harsh punishment, regardless of his allegiances.

“I definitely didn’t see it but there’s no place for that, man,’’ Randle said via the New York Post. “I don’t care if it’s our home crowd or not, there’s no place for that. We’ve got to protect the players. That’s disrespectful.”

Adam Silver recently came out and said that any fan who behaves in such a way will be banned from NBA arenas and that they could even face legal consequences. The league wants to protect the players, and they won’t let some rowdy fans ruin what should be an incredible playoff run.

Future Savagely Disses Lori Harvey & Michael B. Jordan On Leaked “Maybach” Verse

Gone are the days when Future subliminally disses Ciara on his songs. He’s officially moved onto another target: his ex-girlfriend Lori Harvey.

Last week, Detroit rapper 42 Dugg released his new album Free Dem Boyz, which featured the single “Maybach” with Future. As part of the song’s hook, Future raps, “Magic City, I’m the owner/Tell Steve Harvey I don’t want her.” In case you forgot, Future was formerly dating Lori Harvey, Steve’s daughter, before he got into a relationship with rapper Dess Dior. It turns out that the official version of the song is tamer than what Future had originally written down. 42 Dugg just leaked the alternate version of the song on Triller in which Future savagely disrespects his ex-girlfriend, her new man, and her father.

“Magic City, I’m the owner/Tell Steve Harvey I don’t want her/Must have forgotten to tell her daddy she begged me not to leave/Put baguettes on your ankles damn near up to your knees,” raps the Atlanta rap icon on what sounds like an unmixed version of his verse. “She didn’t have a choice but to go fuck a lame after me/Realest n***a hit the t**t, she damn near OD’ed/I got European shit I left overseas/I got love for all my hoes that got love for me.”

If you’re keeping track, Future dissed Lori Harvey, her boyfriend Michael B. Jordan, and her father Steve Harvey in this verse. That’s a toxic trio.

Listen to the unreleased verse below and let us know what you think of the bars.

Blueface and Calboy Preach “Patience” In Dynamic New Collaboration

Blueface and Calboy may have been crowned XXL Freshman on two separate occasions (2019 and 2020, respectively), but that hasn’t stopped the two artists from linking up for a major collaboration featuring two of the annual cover’s most recent stars. The result is a two-and-a-half-minute joint single titled “Patience.”

“Patience” finds both Blueface and Calboy putting their best foot forward to craft a toxic West Coast jam that definitely exceeds expectations. Calboy’s penchant for catchy melodies seamlessly coalesces with Blueface’s arrogant charm, making for an enjoyable, even if not perfect, track. With the release of “Patience,” it will be interesting to see if Blueface and Calboy’s new collaboration evolves into a full-length project because their balance on wax is surprisingly dynamic.

Check out Blueface and Calboy’s chemistry on “Patience” by scrolling down and watching the single’s official music video.

Ja Morant’s Dad Didn’t Care For His 47-Point Performance

On Wednesday night, Ja Morant put up an incredible effort against the Utah Jazz. Despite the loss, Morant scored 47 points and put the Jazz on notice as the series heads to Memphis, where the fans are notorious for getting loud when their team is playing well. Morant has been a breath of fresh air for the franchise and when all is said and done, he could very well be the most talented star in franchise history.

Even with all of this in mind, it appears as though Morant’s own father isn’t all that impressed. Tee Morant has notoriously been tough on Ja and it was stated prior to the NBA Draft that Tee was Morant’s biggest doubter at times. Following the 47-point performance, Tee was dismissive of his son’s efforts saying “If he had 60, they would’ve won the game.” This amused Ja who took to Twitter and commented on the situation.

At this point, Ja is used to his father’s sentiments and overall, he finds it to be quite funny. There is no doubt that Morant gets his competitive edge from his father, and as the playoffs go on, it will be interesting to see how Morant responds.

Game 3 will go down tomorrow night at 9:30 PM EST.
