Recently, LeBron James had some smoke for the NBA in light of all the injuries that have been sustained in the playoffs. Anthony Davis went down for the Lakers in the first round, and in the second round, players like Kyrie Irving and Kawhi Leonard have had to leave the court. As LeBron noted, the offseason was simply too short and the schedule was too condensed. Many players have stated that this is the reason for all of the injuries this season, and now, fans are feeling short-changed as some of their favorite players can’t even compete with their teams during the most important time of the season.

Over the weekend, TMZ caught up with Shannon Sharpe, who typically finds himself agreeing with everything LeBron does. However, on this occasion, Sharpe disagreed with LeBron when it comes to his criticism of the NBA. As Sharpe notes, the players accepted the conditions of the season and that money was always their ultimate desire.

“Look, the NBA wanted to recoup some money, they were in a pandemic and lost money, but the players wanted to get those paychecks,” Sharpe said. “They couldn’t play without the NBA and the [NBA Players Association] agreeing. So, everybody’s equally culpable because they needed the money and the players wanted the paycheck. It is what it is.”

Heading into next season, the NBA will be returning to normalcy, so perhaps the injuries will take a bit of a step back. We were robbed of some great playoff matchups this year although the unpredictability of the 2021 postseason has certainly been refreshing.

Steve Nash had high expectations coming into this season as the head coach of the Brooklyn Nets. With Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving on the roster, the Nets were expected to do big things, and for the most part, they were the most feared team in the league, especially following the acquisition of James Harden. Unfortunately for Nash and the Nets, they were hit with injuries at the most inopportune time, as Irving was forced out of the Eastern Conference Semi-Finals.

Despite this massive loss, the Nets battled hard and were able to force the Milwaukee Bucks to seven games. Last night, the epic Game 7 went down in Brooklyn and it was a game for the ages. In the end, however, the Nets came up short, ending their season. After the game, Nash spoke about his team with pride as he noted that the club battled through a ton of adversity.

“I still thought we could win it,” Nash said. “And clearly, I think we proved tonight that we could. Game could have gone either way. You always know there’s a chance. Anything can happen. I think we just faced one too many obstacles this year. Because our guys gave everything they had.”

If the Nets can stay healthy next season, they have the best chance of any team in the league to win it all. They are extremely stacked and this second-round loss shouldn’t be too discouraging. After all, they have three of the best 15 players in the league, all on the same team.

Drake dropped a bombshell on the world back in 2018 when he revealed on Scorpion that he had fathered a son, famously spitting on “Emotionless,” “I wasn’t hidin’ my kid from the world / I was hidin’ the world from my kid.” While Drizzy didn’t share a photo of Adonis until 2020, he’s quickly become a frequent guest on his dad’s Instagram page. 

It also seems like he and Adonis’ mother Sophie Brussaux have amended their previously strained relationship, working together to successfully co-parent their toddler. Earlier this year on Mother’s Day, Drake gave a shoutout to Sophie in his story, penning, “Happy Mother’s Day big mama.” Today, Sophie returned the favor, wishing the Toronto rapper a very Happy Father’s Day in her story.

“Happy Father’s Day Dad!,” wrote the fine artist, tagging Drake in the post. She added an Instagram sticker graphic that read, “#1 Dad” over the photo of the OVO head honcho cradling Adonis while he was still an infant. Drake reshared the post to his story as well. 

Earlier in the year in an interview with Complex, Brussaux spoke candidly about her son’s intrinsic artistic abilities. “Art is a big part of the fun activities we do at home. We draw, create, we dance, and paint,” Brussaux shared.

She continued, “Adonis is a very artistically inclined child. Whatever he chooses to do later in life he will have my full and loving support. We frame his paintings and put them up in the house next to other artists’ works. I want him to grow up seeing the value in the art he produces at every age.”

Anderson Silva is one of the biggest legends in the history of MMA and while he has lost the vast majority of his most recent UFC fights, Silva is still determined to win in other forms of combat sports. For instance, on Saturday night, Silva went up against Julio Cesar Chavez Jr in an exhibition match put on by Chavez Jr’s father. Chavez Jr is a former WBC champion and has over 50 wins to his name in the sport of boxing. Despite this, Silva pulled off a shocking upset that took the boxing world by storm.

In the clip below, you can see Silva deliver a huge uppercut to Chavez’s chin that surely shook him up. Silva eventually won by split decision although according to some analysts, it should have been unanimous as Silva was simply the better fighter.

This result is surely surprising when you consider Silva’s most recent performances. Not to mention, Silva is 11 years older than Chavez, which had some fans thinking that he would get outclassed. Either way, this was an incredible result for Silva, as well as the sport of MMA. Now, Silva is thinking about other fights, and who could be his next challenge.

Last night, the Brooklyn Nets and Milwaukee Bucks gave us one of the greatest Game 7s of all time. The match ended up going to overtime and in the end, it was the Bucks who came out victorious. Neither team was able to jump out to big leads throughout the game and for the most part, it was a very evenly matched game. Despite the Nets having the lead in the dying minutes, it was the Bucks who were able to overcome and give their fans back home something to cheer about.

As you probably already know, Kevin Durant scored an incredible shot at the end of the game to tie things up and send it to overtime. Durant had thought he scored a three but instead, he scored a two as his foot was on the line. In light of this play, someone unearthed an interview from 2018 in which Durant claimed that he wore his shoes one size too big as a way to be more lightweight on the court. Simply put, had he worn his normal size, that shot sends the Bucks home.

This stunning revelation had Nets and NBA fans everywhere losing their collective minds, as the fact felt too weird to be true. After all, wearing shoes that are one size too big seems extremely cumbersome, especially when you are already as big as KD. Either way, fans on Twitter were quick to voice their displeasure.

Of course, this does not take away from the shot, as it was one of the most clutch moments in NBA history. Unfortunately for the Nets, it just didn’t go the way they were hoping it to.
