Twitter Is Testing Out A Downvote Feature

Almost exactly one week after admitting that its fledgling fleet feature was a bust, Twitter has revealed its latest experiment: an upvote and downvote feature. The feature has reportedly already started hitting some iOS user’s applications, and those lucky Twitter users will be able to react to Tweet replies by upvoting it, which automatically translates to a like, or downvoting it, which will show Twitter developers the type of content that the user doesn’t want to see.

Judging by the pictures provided by Twitter, the feature may be presented as two adjacent circles with up and down arrows inside of them, a traditional heart positioned by a circle with a down arrow inside of it, or a Facebook-esque thumbs up and thumbs down.

The Twitter logo is displayed on a banner outside the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) on November 7, 2013 in New York City. Twitter goes public on the NYSE today and is expected to open at USD 26 per share, making the company worth an estimated USD 18 billion.

And just in case you may have thought that Twitter’s new feature sounded a lot like a dislike button, the beloved social media platform has come forward to explain why that’s not necessarily true.

Thanks to Twitter Support, the company has shared some insights about the new test, writing, “Some key notes about this experiment: 1. This is just a test for research right now. 2. This is not a dislike button. 3. Your downvotes are visible to you only. 4. Votes won’t change the order of replies.”

Although Twitter has confirmed that this is just a part of its recent research methods, would you like for the social media platform to permanently include a dislike option for other user’s tweets and replies?

Tory Lanez Responds To Cassidy’s Accusation

Tory Lanez has never been afraid to make a statement in the booth. Though he has found success on the melodic front, fans know that Tory can be absolutely formidable behind the mic, having proven as much across a variety of tracks and freestyles.

Most recently, Lanez hit up Funkmaster Flex’s studio to let off some steam, addressing some of the recent allegations surrounding his name and going so far as to suggest that he’s being framed. While the lines surrounding his legal battle with Megan Thee Stallion captured plenty of attention, it was some of his deeper bars that caught the attention of former Ruff Ryders lyricist Cassidy.

On his Instagram page, Cassidy shared a video noting several instances where Tory Lanez seemingly stole some of his own punchlines. “I’m Tory Lanez’s favorite rapper,” captions Cass, implying that he’s not entirely flattered by the lyrical similarities. As comments began flooding in, Tory came through to add his own two cents, addressing Cassidy directly with a few thoughts on the matter.

“U are one of my favorite rappers Cass,” writes Tory. “What’s the problem?” He added another comment shortly thereafter, in which his tone was less than impressed. “I guess this is what happens when you try to pay homage,” he writes. “The first freestyle I shouted ya name out because you did inspire me. The second one I went on YOUR beat. Shit is sad how you old n***as be mad at the young n***as for not showing love then when we do…we get responses like this.”

Perhaps this engagement will inspire Tory to get back on his competitive battle tip, the energy once reserved for Joyner Lucas and Don Q. Lord knows that a head-to-head with Cassidy would bring out no shortage of bars from both parties, and it wouldn’t be the first time an idol became a rival. Keep an eye out for whatever update comes next, and sound off if you think Tory Lanez is right to feel frustrated by Cassidy’s point of view.

Lil Uzi Vert Channels His Inner Lil Wayne In Strange New Snippet

Lil Uzi Vert may have temporarily found himself in big trouble a few weeks back following an alleged violent altercation with SAINt JHN and his ex-girlfriend Brittany Byrd, but all chatter surrounding any consequences for that incident seems to have quieted down. A quick visit to Uzi’s socials will show you that the Pluto x Baby Pluto rapper is having the time of his liferiding bikes in Philadelphia and buying planets in his spare time.

If you recently visited Uzi’s Instagram, you may have even been treated to a strange snippet of some of his unreleased music. Unfortunately, Uzi pulled a post-and-delete, but thanks to a screengrab from DJ Akademiks, you can still check it out if you missed it.

Those who have already heard the snippet have likened Uzi’s teased track to Lil Wayne, stylistically, and judging by Lil Uzi Vert’s caption, that may have been his plan from the jump. “HYFR [bat emoji] [coffin emoji] [star emoji] [fire emoji] TuN3$,” the Luv Is Rage artist wrote underneath his since-deleted post.

Further down in the caption, Uzi also teases the “Pink Tape.” He previously that the title of his forthcoming project would be The Real Uzi 2, but perhaps the Philadelphia rapper may have completely switched gears and started work on another project altogether. Regardless, listen to Lil Uzi Vert’s quickly posted and deleted snippet below.

As previously mentioned, many of the fans tuning into the Uzi’s snippet immediately noticed that the Philadelphia rapper sounded like Lil Wayne. Here are some of their reactions to the audio clip from the comments.

With the news starting to circulate more widely, people are wondering what Dr. Dre’s reaction to this decision must have been, sharing funny videos of how they think he must have conducted himself. Some think that he’s going to be berating his lawyers for a long time, while others believe he’s probably glad that he didn’t walk off needing to pay even more.

Regardless, Dre is one of the richest men in music, and although paying $3.5 million every year to someone you despise isn’t an ideal situation, he’s got millions on millions sitting in his bank account and this ensures that Nicole continues to live the same lifestyle she’s grown accustomed to.
