“You can’t cry about De La Soul not getting their splits on one show and then do what you did to me and Rory,” Mal said. “You can do business with friends and I think we gotta stop acting like you can’t. People love to say ‘don’t mix business with friends.’ You can absolutely do business with friends. It’s just conversations, it’s just transparency, it’s just honesty.”

Kevin Gates Teams Up With Polo G & Teejay3k On “Ride Da Night”

The Fast & Furious franchise is as Hollywood as any film series can get. Polo G Nets The First No. 1 Album Of His Career With ‘Hall Of Fame’

Polo G’s upward trek to stardom has been impressive, to say the least. The Chicago went from a promising upstart with his 2019 debut, Die A Legend, to a name that is undoubtedly worthy of respect with his sophomore effort, The GOAT. The growth in Polo G’s artistry continued with his third effort, Hall Of Fame. The 20-track album was released with guest appearances from DaBaby, Lil Durk, Nicki Minaj, Roddy Ricch, Young Thug, and many more and on Sunday, it officially became the rapper’s first No. 1 album after it topped the Billboard 200.

Hall Of Fame checked in atop the album charts with 143,000 album units sold in its first week, also giving him the biggest sales week of his career. This number is comprised of 124,000 streaming equivalent album units, thanks to 181.9 million on-demand streams of the album’s tracks, and 18,000 pure album sales. Prior to Hall Of Fame debuting at No. 1, Polo G’s highest position on the albums chart was No. 2 which is where his 2020 effort, The GOAT, peaked.

Upon hearing word that Hall Of Fame was projected to go top the Billboard 200, Nicki Minaj, who appeared on “For The Love Of New York” from the album, hopped on Twitter to congratulate the rapper on the new achievement.

“CONGRATULATIONS POLO‼‼‼‼‼‼‼ SOOOOOO FN HAPPY FOR YOU‼‼‼‼ first #1 album,” she wrote. “Chicago, stand TF UP‼ Talented & humble. Stay on ya grind boo. Make sure y’all check out the video he just dropped w|Da Baby too. Dope.”

Earlier this month marked two months since DMX’s death. The rapper passed away after a reported drug overdose that triggered a heart attack which left him on life support for nearly a week. There have been many moments since his death that have brought back memories of DMX. This includes his memorial service and the release of his posthumous album, Exodus.
And Sunday’s Father’s Day holiday is also bringing some past moments involving DMX back to light as his fiancée shared a moving message on Instagram to honor the late rapper.

“SCREAMING HAPPY FATHERS DAY ALL THE WAY TO THE HEAVENS ABOVE,” Desiree Lindstrom wrote under a video of DMX rapping along to the ABC song with their son, Exodus.

“Earl you were such an amazing, protective, loving, inspiring, hands-on, incredible father! I thank God that [Exodus] had a father like you!” she said. “In my eyes you are the best father, a mother [could’ve] asked for when it comes to her child! Polo G’s “Hall Of Fame” Outperforms First Week Sales Projections & Debuts At No. 1

By the looks of it, 2021 is shaping up to be Polo G’s year. After experiencing considerable success last year with his sophomore album The Goat, which featured the hit “Martin & Gina,” the Chicago emcee unleashed his most successful era yet. He began the rollout of Hall of Fame with the lead single “Rapstar,” subsequently securing his first number one hit.

The success of “Rapstar” effectively predicted the impending success of his third studio project Hall of Fame. Early sales projections estimated the project would sell around 135k units and debut ahead of Migos’ Culture III. As predicted, Polo G’s Hall of Fame has officially debuted at the top of the Billboard Top 200 album charts, outperforming previous sales projections

The critically acclaimed project officially debuted at the top of this week’s Top 200 chart, pushing over 143,000 consumption units. While this figure is lower than the earliest projection, which placed it between 165k and 175k sales, it’s considerably higher than the updated 135k sales figure.

Ahead of the official announcement of the news, Nicki Minaj took to social media to praise the 22-year-old for his imminent success.

“CONGRATULATIONS POLO,” wrote the Young Money alum with tons of celebratory emojis. “SOOOOOO FN HAPPY FOR YOU. first #1 album. Chicago, stand TF UP. Talented & humble. Stay on ya grind boo. Make sure y’all check out the video he just dropped w|Da Baby too. Dope,” finished the rapper, giving a plug for Polo’s new video for “Party Lyfe” with DaBaby.

Congrats to Polo G on the No. 1 album!

Kevin Durant’s Olympic Intentions Revealed

Kevin Durant put up 48 points yesterday in what was the greatest Game 7 performance in NBA history. Unfortunately, it was not enough to get his Nets past the Milwaukee Bucks. This means the Nets are eliminated from the postseason and now, Durant can enjoy some time off. Immediately following his elimination, there was some chatter about the Olympics which go down in a month from now, and whether or not KD would decide to participate.

Well, according to Shams Charania of The Athletic, it would appear as though Durant has every intention of playing for Team USA this summer. Durant’s inclusion on the roster is huge as he was the best player available from the United States talent pool. Players like LeBron James had previously stated that they would take the summer off, so it’s good to see a superstar like KD represent his country.

It remains to be seen who else will be on the roster, especially with the NBA playoffs still ongoing. There are plenty of guys who will probably want the time off, which means we could see some new faces on Team USA this year. Either way, with NBA stars showing out for the United States, it’s safe to say they will be the favorites for the Olympic gold.

Stay tuned for updates on the United States Olympic basketball team as we will be sure to keep you informed.

Old Man Saxon Unveils New Project “Rothkos, Chicken, and Waffles”

While most televised talent competitions are typically cringeworthy, at best, Netflix’s Rhythm + Flow was a surprising breath of fresh air. T.I., Chance The Rapper, and Cardi B served as the show’s hosts while introducing a slew of young talent. Of course, the Grammy-nominated D Smoke ended up winning the competition with his incredible final performance. However, some of the budding talent introduced on the show are still applying pressure.

Old Man Saxon remains the most notable, and unique, MC on the show, and his recent releases have been just as solid as his performances. This week, he returned with his new project, Rothkos, Chicken, and Waffles. Saxon’s displays his high level of lyricism across the 11-song project which boasts features from Luke Strand and Baby Luck.
