Team USA Reportedly Frustrated With Gregg Popovich

Even when players like LeBron James, Kyrie Irving, and James Harden are sitting out, the United States still has the strongest basketball team in the world. The team is packed with superstar talent as guys like Kevin Durant, Damian Lillard, Zach Lavine, Jrue Holiday, and Bam Adebayo are leading the way. While some of these players aren’t exactly elite-level players in the NBA, there is no doubt that they are better than the vast majority of the players representing other countries at the Olympics.

Despite this supposed skill gap, Team USA has struggled to play as a collective unit under head coach Gregg Popovich. After losing a couple of exhibition games prior to the Olympics, Team USA lost its first game of the Tokyo Olympics to France, and now, there are questions as to how far this team can actually go.

In fact, according to Joe Vardon of The Athletic, there are now questions surrounding Gregg Popovich and whether or not he can lead this team to victory. Players are reportedly getting frustrated with his offense, and things could escalate if the team continues to lose.

Per The Athletic:

“To be clear, Popovich is horrified by his own record coaching this team. He dwells on it and hates the losing. The players are frustrated, too, grumbling on their way back to the locker room about “running the San Antonio offense” when apparently they feel like there are better ideas. Pop has said, because of the truncated nature of Team USA’s training camp, the offense would be based on “concepts” instead of set plays.”

The United States will play their next game on Wednesday against Iran, and fans are expecting a blowout. If they fail to win this match, then they could very well be going home early.

Lil Nas X Responds To Dr. Boyce Watkins’ Homophobic “INDUSTRY BABY” Comments

Lil Nas X is breaking ground, unapologetically presenting his truth to the world and releasing bangers along the way. As we patiently wait for the “Old Town Road” artist’s debut studio album, which is arriving in the coming months, Lil Nas X has been sharing new songs and music videos to celebrate his sexual identity, including homoerotic videos for “MONTERO (Call Me By Your Name)” and “INDUSTRY BABY” with Jack Harlow. The world is still remarkably homophobic though, especially in the hip-hop community, so LNX has faced a lot of disturbing backlash as he inspires LGBTQ+ identifying youth and adults.

Most recently, the 22-year-old artist has fought back against homophobic critics bashing his new music video, which features a scene where Lil Nas dances nude with other men in a prison shower. American author Dr. Boyce Watkins had some homophobic remarks about “INDUSTRY BABY,” suggesting that Lil Nas is marketing sexual irresponsibility, which the rapper clapped back against.

“#LilNasX isn’t fighting for gay rights. He’s marketing the sexual irresponsibility that’s causing young men to die from AIDS,” wrote Dr. Watkins on Twitter, sharing his ignorant homophobic take. “Being gay is one thing, but being a super spreader is another. There’s nothing healthy or helpful about that video. Especially for children.”

The video has nothing to do with AIDS — it’s simply celebrating one young man’s sexuality, which he is comfortable in displaying with the world. So many artists before him have kept their sexuality veiled for the comfort of a majority heterosexual crowd, and Lil Nas is changing that. He’s not content with hiding who he is to achieve success. He’s being himself and striving. The man has the most decorated song in music history, for goodness sake.

“y’all be silent as hell when n***as dedicate their entire music catalogue to rapping about sleeping with multiple women,” responded Lil Nas. “but when i do anything remotely sexual i’m ‘being sexually irresponsible’ & ‘causing more men to die from aids’ y’all hate gay ppl and don’t hide it.”

Well said, Lil Nas. Check out the tweets below.

“Dexter: New Blood” First Trailer Is Here

Ever since Showtime confirmed the return of Dexter Morgan, one of television’s most beloved antiheroes, many fans of the long-running series have been anxious to catch the first glimpse. After all, the final season was met with disappointment from fans, and at worst — genuine contempt.

Suffice it to say, showrunner Clyde Phillips was eager to rewrite some of the wrongs, and given that his role in shaping some of Dexter’s most acclaimed seasons, many fans approached the news of a revival with cautious optimism. Now, the first trailer for Dexter: New Blood has arrived courtesy of a Comic-Con reveal, providing an intriguing look at the upcoming ninth season.

Set ten years removed from the events of the eighth season, Dexter has set up shop in upstate New York; off the bat, there’s a clear tonal shift as the sunshine of Miami has been replaced by a stark-white snowy setting. Going under the alias of Jim Lindsay, Dexter has once again endeared himself to his community. Despite an oft-derided presumption that Dex took solace in the noble art of lumberjacking, in actuality, he opened up a hunting goods store — with plenty of conveniently placed weapons lining the shelves.

Though the new trailer doesn’t exactly showcase many plot details, Showrunner Clyde Phillip teased a few mind-blowing character appearances. Later, the official Showtime Twitter page confirmed that both Jennifer Carpenter and John Lithgow would be reprising their roles as Deborah Morgan and Arthur “The Trinity Killer” Mitchell, presumably in flashbacks.

Check out the first trailer for Dexter: New Blood below, and look for Dexter’s return to kick off on November 7th.

Deshaun Watson Trade Asking Price Revealed

Deshaun Watson’s future in the NFL is currently up in the air as he is battling numerous sexual assault lawsuits. Back in March, a total of 22 women came forward with allegations against the Houston Texans star, as they claimed he was inappropriate with them during massage sessions. All of the stories were similar to one another and for about two months, the story dominated the NFL news cycle. Now, the lawsuits remain unresolved, however, Watson is still looking to be traded from the Texans.

Yesterday, we reported that Watson would be attending Texans camp as he wanted to avoid the daily $50K fine. Despite his presence at camp, he is still pushing for a trade, and now, the Texans are finally obliging as they are letting teams know their asking price. As you can imagine, this asking price is an incredibly lofty one.

According to ESPN’s Chri Mortensen, the Texans are making their demands known in a big way, and it remains to be seen if teams will actually want to pay the price. As it stands, Houston wants at least five early-round draft picks, as well as some guys who have proven themselves as starters. Effectively, the Texans want no less than six assets and if teams don’t want to pay up, they have no problems holding out.

NFL teams have been known to be stingy when it comes to trades, so it will be interesting to see if there are teams willing to pay so much for a quarterback who may not even be given the go-ahead to play this season. Watson comes with some risks, and some teams may feel as though the price is too high as a result.

Stay tuned to HNHH as we will continue to bring you updates from the NFL.

Lil Uzi Vert Gets A New Tongue Tattoo & Puts Back His Forehead Diamond

Lil Uzi Vert is an enigma. The 26-year-old Philadelphia-raised recording artist is one of the most interesting characters in the hip-hop world and he continues to evolve, thinking of ways to refresh his look over the years. Ahead of his Rolling Loud performance on Sunday night, the rapper showed off his latest update, getting a tattoo on his tongue and re-inserting the diamond that he bought for his forehead.

Calling himself a “rager” and showing that he’s a walking impulse decision, Lil Uzi stuck out his tongue for the camera and showed his brand new tattoo. Considering the placement of this ink, the tattoo likely won’t stay in the best condition for too long, but it’ll definitely stick around for the next few years before fading significantly.

In addition to the new tongue art, the Eternal Atake superstar put back his supposed $24 million diamond on his forehead for this weekend. The rapper previously took it out for a few weeks but it appears as though he’s back at his highest form while completing his upcoming Pink Tape.

Uzi was one of the primetime performers at Rolling Loud in Miami last night, but fans were frustrated when Roc Nation blocked the festival from live-streaming his show. Thankfully, HNHH was live with Uzi’s performance on Instagram, so fans weren’t left completely in the dark.

What do you think of his new tongue tattoo?

Donald Trump Uses LeBron James As Punchline For Transphobic Joke

Former President Donald Trump has never been fond of NBA superstar LeBron James. The two have gone back and forth quite a bit over the last few years, although things were especially testy in 2020 in the midst of the NBA bubble in Orlando. Throughout the playoffs, LeBron and his peers showed support for Black Lives Matter while also speaking on various other political issues, such as voting rights, Trump didn’t exactly like this and at every opportunity, he made sure to disparage LeBron and the NBA’s ratings.

When Trump had Twitter, he was a guy who always seemed to embrace drama, and he certainly knows how to be petty, regardless of the situation at hand. Over the weekend, the former president got to speak at a Turning Point USA conference, which has a young and very conservative audience. It is here that he decided to take a shot at LeBron.

While on the topic of women’s basketball, Trump stated that he would only be selecting trans athletes. In conservative circles, the subject of trans athletes has been a highly-debated one, and Trump’s opinions on the matter should come as no surprise. Of course, Trump decided to take things a step further, as he made LeBron James the punchline of the joke.

“If I were a coach, I’ll tell you, I wouldn’t be talking to too many women as we know women. I’d be getting some of these people that, ‘they’re women,’” Trump said. “Somebody said that if LeBron James ever decided to get the operation, how would he be on the court?”

Trump then went on to continue his tirade against LeBron as he stated that the NBA ratings are down, and it’s all because of LeBron’s politics. With the election long behind him, Trump is still trying to find ways to stay relevant, and it appears as though LeBron’s mere existence has given him that outlet to do so.
