Nicki Minaj Threatens And Doxxes A Guardian Reporter Who Tried To Contact Her Cousin For An Interview

“Ball-gate” just stopped being funny. Nicki Minaj, who has been under fire for spreading anti-vaccine misinformation over the past week, is now doxxing and threatening a reporter who reached out to her relatives in Trinidad for comment on the story. Nicki posted photos and shared the WhatsApp phone number of the reporter on her Instagram Story, calling the reporter “a dirty hoe” and claiming that her family is hiding out from reporters.

Nicki shared WhatsApp screenshots of the conversation via her cousin in which the texter identifies themselves as a Guardian reporter named Sharlene Rampersad and asks whether he’s the cousin Nicki referred to in the original tweet. Although there’s no way to confirm that the text actually came from the named reporter, the texter asks to speak with Nicki’s cousin, and if possible the friend whose wedding was supposedly canceled due to adverse reactions to a COVID vaccine, as Nicki’s original tweet suggested.

However, this reporter crosses a line by intimating that a competing outlet, CNN, is also pursuing an interview. The texter suggests that CNN would reveal personal information about the cousin — something against the journalistic integrity policy of any legitimate news outlet — and assuring that the Guardian would not. Aside from being the dirtiest of dirty pool, this sort of thing isn’t common practice at most outlets and is actually against the law in many jurisdictions.

Nicki, interpreting this messaging as a threat, went off, posting the WhatsApp phone number that reached out to her cousin, as well as two photos of the reporter. Screenshots can be seen below.

While Nicki certainly has a right to be upset at the unsolicited contact, there’s 1. no proof that the texter actually is this person, and 2. absolutely no call to violate a person’s privacy to her 157 million Instagram followers, many of whom have previously shown a penchant for cyberbullying people just for sharing their unfavorable opinions of her latest singles. While Nicki insists that she’s being targeted for “asking questions,” the truth of the matter remains: The “questions” she’s asking have already been answered several times over, and her spreading misinformation is a dangerous tactic that could very well get more people hurt. The COVID-19 coronavirus has killed well over 650,000 people and conspiracy theories only harm the distribution of vaccines meant to save lives.

However, if the person who reached out to her relations really is the named reporter, then shame on her as well for violating so many tenets of journalistic integrity in the pursuit of a quote. She should, however, be reprimanded by her employer, not terrorized by online vigilantes at the behest of an angry musician — especially not one distracting from the serious work being done to combat the spread of a deadly pandemic. That hasn’t stopped Nicki from also lashing out on Twitter, tagging Rampersad in an all-caps rant quoting a day-old tweet criticizing her for spreading misinformation.

Drake & Logan Paul Link Up For IG Story Pic

Coming off his bout with Floyd Mayweather which he performed surprisingly not terribly in, Logan Paul has become more and more of an actual presence as opposed to his former existence as a Vine funny guy/prankster. In the wake of going toe-to-toe with Mayweather and the rising success of his Impaulsive podcast, it feels as if Paul is taking steps towards becoming real-life famous and not just internet famous.

Just a couple of weeks ago, in fact, a situation blew up in which a man quit his $100K/year job in an attempt to find Paul and work for the boxer/podcaster. Paul denied his request for employment but the fact that people look at Paul as someone who could grant that kind of opportunity and not just as the guy who caught a million-dollar lawsuit for filming a video in a Japanese “suicide forest.”

And what better step towards legitimacy to take is there than making an appearance on Drake’s Instagram story?

We all know about the Drake stimulus package when it comes to music, but what about social media?

Earlier today, Drake posted a pic of himself and Paul, dressed to the nines, on his story. There was no caption. No commentary. Just a picture of the two that featured Drake throwing up his signature 6 hand-sign and Paul looking too bashful to look at the camera.

Obviously Paul has a massive following of his own and, alongside his brother and fellow boxer Jake Paul (who also shared a recent interaction with Drizzy), can make waves himself, but getting the IG story from someone like Drake elevates him into a different echelon of celebrity. And coming off a week in which late-night host Jimmy Kimmel compared Paul to Donald Trump and grouped them together as the “worst people in the world,” Paul definitely needed a win.

Maybe he can give the Certified Lover Boy some boxing tips, too.

What do you think of Drake hanging out with Logan Paul? Let us know in the comments.

Stormi Webster Impersonates Her Mom In Sweet New Video, “Hi, It’s Me, Kylie Jenner”

By far one of the most beloved celebrity babies of today is none other than Stormi Webster, the three-year-old daughter of Kylie Jenner and Travis Scott. Her most recent heartwarming moment took place earlier this week, when she interrupted her mom’s Instagram story.

ET Canada reports that on Thursday, Jenner’s profile showed a series of clips of her sitting on an airplane, promoting her latest project – Kylie Swim.

Just as the CEO begins to dive into the details of her first swimwear drop, Stormi pops onto the screen to say a few words.

“You wanna tell them my swim launches tomorrow?” Jenner asks her daughter.

Webster then proceeds to hand her mother a stuffed unicorn, which she promptly kisses and says that she “loves.”

The soon-to-be mother of two then reveals to her followers that “doing swim for you guys has always been a dream of mine,” before being interrupted by Stormi asking to “do funny faces.”

Perhaps the funniest moment of all comes when the three year old decides to hijack the phone screen and impersonate Jenner, saying, “Hi, it’s me, Kylie Jenner,” which causes the two to burst into a fit of giggles.

Just a few weeks ago the Webster/Jenner clan announced that they’d be expanding their family, and from the looks of things, Stormi couldn’t be more excited to become a big sister to the newest little rager.

Pop Smoke’s Alleged Killer Denied Bail In LA County

Just a handful of days after Pop Smoke’s Brooklyn gravesite was destroyed by vandals, there has been a major development in the case to find the late New York City drill rapper’s killer.

According to  a Los Angeles County judge has denied bail to Corey Walker, one of the four teenagers accused of killing Pop Smoke. Walker’s attorney, Christopher Darden, had previously requested bail for his client but prosecutors in the case filed a motion implying that Walker should not be eligible for bail based on California laws. The judge presiding over this case, Curtis B. Rappe, agreed with the prosecution and denied Walker’s bail, leaving Walker in prison until the trial takes place.

Despite denying Walker’s bail, Rappe did note that this case was no longer a capital case, granting the prosecution’s motion to take the death penalty off the table. Walker does, however, was arraigned in August and faces a potential max sentence of life without parole.

Pop Smoke, killed in early 2020 in a home invasion turned homicide in a Hollywood Hills Air BnB, was a beloved figure in the rap game and has been widely celebrated since his death. His second album, Faith, was released earlier this year and featured guest verses from Kanye West, Pusha T, 21 Savage, The Neptunes, Rick Ross, Future, Dua Lipa, Kid Cudi and Pharrell (among others) was yet another celebration of Pop’s legacy and the imprint he left on drill music and rap music in general in just a couple of years.

What do you think of Judge Rappe’s decision to deny Corey Walker bail? What do you think should happen with the Pop Smoke case? Let us know in the comments.

Drake Bell Shares His Side Of The Story After Pleading Guilty To Child Endangerment Charges

It was just two months ago that Drake & Josh alum Drake Bell pled guilty to charges of child endangerment and was consequently sentenced to two years of probation. After taking some time to adjust to his new normal, the actor has turned to Instagram to share his side of the story.

“Most of the news you’ve heard recently is entirely false and wrong,” the 35-year-old told his followers. “I feel that you deserve, and I owe you, an explanation.”

David Livingston/Getty Images

“If these claims were remotely true, my situation would be very different. I would not be here at home with my wife and with my son. But that being said, I am not perfect, and I make mistakes.”

Bell then clarified that he never had any sort of intimate relationship with an underage fan, but rather, responded to her without knowing her age, and then stopped responding when he found out that she was a minor.

“This individual continued to come to shows and pay for meet and greets, all while I was unaware that this was the same person I was communicating with online, and that’s what I plead guilty to,” the father of one went on to explain.

“It was reckless and irresponsible text messages. I want to make clear there were no sexual images, nothing physical between me and this individual.”

Complex reports that Bell was arrested and charged with crimes against children earlier this summer. The actor plead guilty to one count of disseminating matter harmful to juveniles and one count of attempted endangering children, which resulted in his probationary sentence.

‘Beat Box’ Rapper SpotemGottem Was Shot In A Miami Road Rage Incident But Is Expected To Recover

TMZ reports that Miami rapper SpotemGottem is recovering in a Florida hospital after being shot multiple times while driving on the I-95 early this morning. The rapper told police he was being driven south on the highway when someone in another car began shooting at his car, hitting his driver in the hip and wounding Spotem, who was sitting in the passenger seat, in both legs. All told, the report says at least 22 shots were fired, likely from an automatic weapon. Both men were taken to the hospital in stable condition. Police believe the incident to be a case of road rage.

Meanwhile, SpotemGottem faces a list of weapons-related charges himself after being arrested in Aventura, Florida in July. Federal Marshalls served an aggravated assault warrant stemming from a June incident in which the rapper and some friends allegedly threatened a parking lot attendant with a semiautomatic weapon. Spotem allegedly had a Draco AK-47 lying next to him on the bed at the time of his arrest, adding a charge of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Fans on social media noted the irony of today’s incident; Spotem’s name is a reference to locating an enemy and shooting him on sight, while his best-known hit, “Beat Box,” is about, you guessed it, what his gun sounds like when it’s firing. The popular song has since been remixed by a number of stars including Latto, NLE Choppa, and Polo G.

DDG Celebrates His Success In Two Games With The Triumphant ‘Rucci’ Video

In his new single “Rucci,” Pontiac, Michigan-born rapper DDG brags that he “made a million dollars off a screen,” setting himself apart from a common rap narrative. And although he’s proud of his accomplishments, he also boasts that were he to dip into selling drugs like some of his contemporaries, he’d be just as good as that. The new single’s release was paired with a music video that dropped just a few hours later in which the rapper shows off some of his home art, cars, and female companions.

“Rucci” follows a string of standalone singles released in the wake of his breakout joint tape with OG Parker, Die 4 Respect. While that release helped earn him the notice of XXL‘s 2021 Freshman Class, he’s apparently been looking forward to his next project, a follow-up to his 2019 debut album Valedictorian. In addition to “Rucci,” DDG recently shared videos for “Midwest Flow,” “Lusted,” and “If I Go Broke” in the past month, showing a hustle that isn’t slowing down anytime soon.

Earlier this summer, DDG became one of Uproxx’s cover artists, as well as sharing a performance of his song “Hood Melody” on UPROXX Sessions and offering his thoughts on Blueface for How I Blew Up.

Usain Bolt To Sha’Carri Richardson: “Train Harder” & Talk Less

Sha’Carri Richardson broke away from out of nowhere and became one of the biggest stories of the summer after she was barred from competing at the Tokyo Olympics because of a failed drug test for cannabis. Shortly after the announcement was she would not be competing, the American sprinter was met with a wave of support from all corners. However, the love quickly faded as Sha’Carri confidently stated that she would be returning at the Prefontaine Classic to sweep her competition.

During her return race, she finished in last place, which prompted the internet to share all kinds of memes and jokes about her misfortune. She started beefing with different members of the Jamaican national team and then when she competed again at the Diamond League, she narrowly missed the podium, finishing in fourth place.

Now, Usain Bolt is giving Sha’Carri some tips and tricks on how to manage her future success, advising her to stay at it and consider keeping things to herself the next time she wants to boast online.

“I would tell Sha’Carri to train harder and to be focused and not say too much,” said Usain during an interview with The New York Post. “If you talk that big talk you have to back it up. So just train hard and focus on that and try to come back, do it, and then talk about it.”

Bolt also said that the Jamaicans were inspired to humble Richardson after she took her trash talk to the internet pre-race.

“Jamaicans were vexed because she was talking a lot of shit before the actual race, it is just one of those things,” he said. “Jamaicans don’t like when people talk shit about us because we are a very proud people. So if you talk about us we are gonna want you to back it up. It definitely gave those women the extra push [to win.]”

Do you agree with Usain Bolt’s advice for Sha’Carri Richardson?

Giveon Fans Wildly React To Tour Dates Selling Out In Minutes

When Giveon first popped onto the scene, singing the chorus on “Chicago Freestyle” it felt like the Chicago singer would be the next recipient of the Drake stimulus package. In the year-and-a-half since then, however, it has become clear that Giveon’s rise to stardom was inevitable regardless of who co-signed him.

Receiving a Grammy nomination for his EP Take Time, another feature on a Drake record, this time on Certified Lover Boy‘s “In the Bible” alongside Lil Durk and most recently, the MTV VMA for Best Pop Video for his appearance on Justin Bieber’s “Peaches” with Daniel Caesar, Giveon’s star is ascending at a rapid rate and a couple of days ago, when the “Heartbreak Anniversary” singer announced his Timeless tour, fans were excited for an opportunity to watch him perform live.

Unfortunately, when those Timeless tour tickets were made available for presale this morning, they sold out in the blink of an eye, leaving many fans disappointed.

Giveon did attempt to remedy the issue, adding more tickets to multiple shows and an extra date in December but the damage had been done. Fans were left wildly disappointed and skeptical that Giveon’s switch to larger venues would even be enough.

On the “Chicago Freestyle” chorus Giveon sings, “Thirty degrees way too cold so hold me tight, will i see you at the show tonight?” After this morning’s rapid sellout, it turns out a whole bunch of people who wanted to see Giveon will *not* be seeing him at the show tonight.

Did you try to grab Giveon tickets? Were you successful or did you miss out? Let us know in the comments.
