Drake’s “Take Care” Reaches 450 Weeks On Billboard 200 Chart

Drake’s second studio album, Take Care, has now spent 450 cumulative weeks on the Billboard 200 chart, the third-most for a rap album in history. The 2011 album is currently sitting at #88 on this week’s chart.

The only other rap albums to chart for more weeks are Eminem’s Curtain Call: The Hits, which spent 550 weeks on the charts, and Kendrick Lamar’s Good Kid, M.A.A.D City, which is just ahead of Take Care with 468 total weeks.

Drake’s legendary project features appearances from Kendrick Lamar, The Weeknd, Rihanna, Birdman, Nicki Minaj, Rick Ross, Lil Wayne, and André 3000. It also includes many of Drake’s biggest hits such as “Headlines,” “Marvin’s Room,” “The Motto,” and more.

Take Care isn’t Drake’s only album on the Billboard 200. His newest project, Certified Lover Boy debuted at #1 on the chart, earlier this year, and locked the spot down for several weeks, despite competing with Kanye West’s Donda. CLB was certified platinum in September.

Thank Me LaterNothing Was the Same, Views, and Scorpion are all also certified platinum. In 2020, Nothing Was The Same reached over 350 cumulative weeks.

Eminem is the only rapper with more albums over 300 weeks with The Eminem Show and Recovery, in addition to Curtain Call: The Hits.

Young Thug Tells Charlamagne Tha God “You Was Wrong” Over Rich Homie Quan Prediction

About a decade ago, Charlamagne Tha God went on the record to say that he predicted Rich Homie Quan would have a longer, more impactful music career than his Rich Gang partner Young Thug. Having made those comments, and then getting on Birdman’s bad side a few years later, Charlamagne was never blessed with an interview from Jeffery on The Breakfast Club. Considering how close Thug is to Birdman, he was seemingly boycotting the platform after the three hosts failed to “put respect” on Baby’s name. Ten years later, Thug has officially made his first appearance on the hip-hop radio show, speaking about his new album Punk, making “Way 2 Sexy” with Drake and Future, and much more.

At the beginning of his chat with Charlamagne and Angela Yee, Jeffery answered why it took such a long time for him to make his first appearance on the show, which led Charla to discuss his initial prediction with regards to Thug and Rich Homie Quan’s future.

“I will say, I made one of the worst hip-hop predictions about ten years ago when I did VladTV, they asked me who gon’ be around longer, Rich Homie Quan or Young Thug? I said, probably Rich Homie Quan. Clearly, I was wrong,” said Charlamagne.

“[laughs] How you feel about that?” asked Thugger.

“I mean, you don’t get ’em all right!” replied Charla before clarifying that he did give Thug his flowers over how he uniquely used his voice as an instrument back then.

“You was wrong!” stated Thug, which Charla agreed with.

Charlamagne also said that he thought that maybe because of how “deep” Thug was in the streets at the time, he might not have been the perfect candidate for a successful music career. As Thug states in “Tick Tock,” he was a capo in his ‘hood way ‘fore a plaque or a mention, but that clearly didn’t stop him from becoming one of the most influential artists of the current generation.

Kyrie Irving & Ben Simmons Ranked Most Hated Amongst Fans

As of right now, Kyrie Irving and Ben Simmons are the two biggest newsmakers in the NBA. Simmons is looking to be traded by the Philadelphia 76ers, all while Kyrie can’t play because of his refusal to get the vaccine against COVID-19. Needless to say, these two situations have fans at odd with each other, and it remains clear that the two players are heavily disliked in their respective markets, and more widely, around the NBA as a whole.

In a new poll from the Morning Consult, it was revealed that Irving and Simmons have the lowest favorability rankings amongst all of the players in the NBA. Fans seem to be kind of fed up with them, and they were the biggest targets of scrutiny in the poll.

Via Morning Consult:

“Guard-forward Ben Simmons… tied with Nets guard Kyrie Irving for last in net favorability (13) and had the second-highest share of unfavorable responses with 19 percent.

Irving tied with Simmons for last in net favorability and had the highest share of unfavorable responses with 24 percent. That’s double the 12 percent who had a negative opinion of him in Morning Consult’s 2018 “Most Loved Entertainers” report.”

It remains to be seen what can be done to change these opinions although it’s probably going to take a Herculean effort from both of them. Regardless, we’re sure they don’t mind too much as they are still raking in millions while most fans simply express frustration on social media.

Jackson Mahomes Apologizes After Dancing On Sean Taylor Memorial

Patrick Mahomes is one of the best quarterbacks in the league, although sometimes, it is his brother Jackson who takes the spotlight, for better or for worse. Jackson is a star on TikTok and he is always at Mahomes’ games. Sometimes, he makes a spectacle out of himself, and at times, this gets him into a lot of trouble.

That is exactly what happened on Sunday as the Chiefs took on the Washington Football Team. Washington was retiring Sean Taylor’s jersey, and it was an emotional ceremony given the circumstances surrounding Taylor’s death. After the game, some got to stand on the patch of grass honoring Taylor, including Mahomes. In an act of pure ignorance, Jackson decided to do a TikTok dance on the patch of grass, which many felt was disrespectful.

Afterward, Jackson was pressured to issue an apology, which he eventually did, stating “I want to sincerely apologize for accidentally being on the Sean Taylor #21 at FedEx Field. We were directed to stand in that area and I meant absolutely no disrespect to him or his family.”

This is not the first time Jackson has been in the news this year for a disrespectful act. For instance, Jackson was seen dumping water on the heads of Ravens fans after the Chiefs lost to them just a few weeks ago.

Needless to say, Patrick is going to need to have a conversation with his brother, as this is not a good look for anyone involved.

Wheelchair 4 Kids Director Praises Drake For His “Degrassi” Role

Wheelchair 4 Kids executive director Madeline Robinson says that Drake’s role in Degrassi: The Next Generation provided “much-needed representation.” Robinson spoke with TMZ, following the news that the Toronto rapper threatened to leave the show after learning that his character would be paralyzed.

“It is great when we see our kids being represented,” she explained, adding, “When was the last time you went to a mall and saw a kid in a wheelchair hanging out with other kids?”

One of the show’s writers, James Hurst, recently revealed that he received a letter from a law firm representing Drake, which claimed he would leave the show if his character were not healed.

“There was a letter from a law firm in Toronto, and it was from Aubrey,” Hurst explained in an interview withThe A.V. Club. “It was an odd letter that said, ‘Aubrey Graham will not return to Degrassi season six as Jimmy Brooks unless his injury is healed, and he’s out of the wheelchair.'”

He added that Drake “instantly backed down,” when the two discussed the situation.

“Aubrey, there’s some kid somewhere in a wheelchair, who’s completely ignored, who’s never on television, never gets represented,” Hurst remembers explaining. “I need you to represent this person. You’re the coolest kid on the show, and you can say there’s nothing wrong with being in a wheelchair.”

Soulja Boy Responds To Houston Goons “Robbing” Him After NBA YoungBoy Comments

Soulja Boy played with fire this weekend, throwing shots at YoungBoy Never Broke Again (somebody whom he had previously named as one of his favorite all-time rappers) and his fans, calling his supporters “gay AF” and stating that he’s grown cold on the Baton Rouge rapper because of his fans. Shortly after he made the comments on social media, a group of Houston goons claiming 4KT (YoungBoy’s set) popped up online with one of Soulja’s plaques, claiming they took it from him.

While the YoungBoy supporters thought they must have done something, Soulja saw their video and let them know that he doesn’t care a single bit that one of his plaques went missing because, according to him, every studio in the city has at least one of his platinum plaques.

“U can find them at ur local studio,” said Soulja Boy, commenting on a video posted by DJ Akademiks of the Houston goons laughing after “robbing” Big Draco. “Step harder,” he told them.

This comes following the release of Soulja’s new single “Squid Game,” which references some of the challenges in the ultra-popular new television series on Netflix. After dropping the song, Soulja dissed Tyga, Famous Dex, and YoungBoy Never Broke Again on social media. This “robbery” appears to be direct retaliation for his words against YoungBoy’s fans.

“Certified Lover Boy” Returns To #1 On The Billboard Top 200

In the weeks leading up to Drake’s Certified Lover Boy, much of the conversation surrounding the album was focused on the Toronto rapper’s not-so-subliminal beef with Kanye West.

West, having just dropped a record of his own, proved to be a worthy foe. Between adding Pusha T to a group chat with Drake and revealing The Six God’s Toronto address for the world to see, Yeezy stirred the internet into a frenzy and for what felt like forever, all eyes were glued on the two rap titans.

But that’s no longer the case.

Since Drake released Certified Lover Boy on September 3, the soon-to-be 35-year-old rapper has watched his record dominate the charts while Ye has fallen back into his world of real estate and high fashion. Debuting at #1 on the Billboard Top 200, Certified Lover Boy became the first rap album to debut at #1, and held that spot for three weeks.

NBA Youngboy’s Sincerely, Kentrell and Taylor Swift’s re-release of Fearless, knocked Drizzy out of the top spot in back-to-back weeks but now, more than six weeks after its initial release, Certfied Lover Boy is back to #1.

Edging out Don Toliver’s new project Life of a Don by nearly 30,000 album-equivalent units, CLB moved 94,000 units last week, bringing the record’s total to a whopping 1,359,000 total units sold and re-landing the top spot on the Billboard Top 200.

This is CLB‘s fourth week atop the charts, making it the only rap album to achieve that in 2021, and with the continued successes of “Way 2 Sexy,” “Knife Talk” and “Girls Want Girls,” it doesn’t seem like a major slowdown is coming any time soon. It wouldn’t be surprising if Young Thug’s PUNK ends up at #1 in a week, but with cuffing season just around the corner, we’ll keep spinning CLB and chances are, so will you.

What do you think of Shopping Bag Drizzy grabbing that top spot once more? Let us know in the comments.

Michael Jordan Reveals The Only Athlete He Fears

Michael Jordan is well known as one of the most competitive people to ever play the game of basketball. He was a menace on the court and as a result, he came one of the best to ever step on the court. To this day, his competitive nature is the stuff of legend, and it was on full display in “The Last Dance,” which didn’t always paint MJ in the best light.

Recently, Jordan sat down with Steph Curry for an in-depth interview that went up on Curry’s YouTube channel. At one point in the discussion, Curry asked Jordan who he feared the most in terms of sports. That is when Jordan threw a curveball stating that he fears golfer Ian Poulter.

“I’m not scared of anybody…but Ian Poulter,” Jordan said. “I used to go and watch him all the time. If I’m in any of his matches or walking down, he finds me after he makes a good putt, and it’s like, ‘Man, I didn’t do anything. I like you. I support you.’ I stay away from him when I’m walking. I won’t go watch him.”

Jordan sure does love his golf so it makes sense that he would choose some from the sport. Poulter was certainly one of the best in the world during his prime, and with Jordan playing so many tournaments around the world, they would have met up with each other quite a bit.

In terms of basketball though, it remains clear that MJ truly was fearless.

Mac Miller’s Engineer For “Faces” Details Why Late Rapper Didn’t Sign To Roc-A-Fella

Mac Miller’s sound engineer Josh Berg for his iconic mixtape, Faces, says he refused to sign with Roc-A-Fella because he wanted to make it on his own. Faces was re-released on Friday and added to streaming services for the first time.

“He didn’t sign to Roc-A-Fella because he was like, ‘I’m not gonna have it be that I needed the Jay-Z feature to get famous, for people to validate me and then people think it’s about that validation,’” Berg told GQ in a new interview.

Miller’s other longtime producer, E. Dan, also praised the rapper’s DIY attitude and noted Miller’s ability to surround himself with the right people.

“He did go through that moment of ‘How much of this can I do on my own?’ but then he started to realize it was even better to have those abilities to do things on his own but then to incorporate people around him who were good at certain things,” said E. Dan. “It may have been scary at first, but ultimately it led to great experiences in the studio making music. He understood the language we were speaking as producers and engineers.”

Berg also discussed the studio sessions from the time, recalling how funny it was to have Miller, Thundercat, Vince Staples, and Earl Sweatshirt all in a room together cracking jokes.

“I felt like I was the richest man in the world just based on deep belly laughter,” Berg said. “I was laughing to the point where I felt like I was on shrooms, frequently.”
