Watch Rosalía And The Weeknd Link Up In The Deadly ‘La Fama’ Video

After dropping a teaser trailer last week for “La Fama,” Rosalía and The Weeknd have delivered on their promise in spades. The first song off of Rosalía’s Motomami, due out in 2022, “La Fama” arrives with a video that’s both deadly and metaphoric.

“Good evening ladies and gentlemen,” actor and taco entrepreneur Danny Trejo says to an opulent club crowd as the video begins. “I want to introduce the following number. But I must warn you, she’s not for everyone. She will pierce your heart and she will be your only obsession! So get ready for some heat… La Fama!”

But this is no ordinary club, this is a decadent cabaret where people snort diamonds and sip gemstone martinis. Rosalía is the titular “La Fama” singing and dancing seductively and setting her crosshairs on The Weeknd, sitting front and center. His high-pitched voice joins her in Spanish as he rises to heed her siren call. They get closer and closer, and just as their lips are about to meet, she kills him.

“I wanted to write, in my own way, a bachata with a little story around ambition,” Rosalía said in a statement. “Taking as a reference the lyrics of Ruben Blades or Patti Smith and the songs of Aventura, I ended up writing a story of romance with fame.”

The video and the song’s lyrics are definitely symbolic of an obsession with stardom, something that both Rosalía and the Weeknd have experienced a lot of. It’s a cautionary tale to the endless thirst traps surrounding the entertainment industry. And as the lights dim, Rosalía poses for applause while The Weekend lays lifeless and Trejo punctuates what we just witnessed: “Don’t forget, be careful what you wish for!”

Kid Cudi Showed Up To An Award Show In A Custom Wedding Dress

Kid Cudi made headlines earlier this year when he donned a dress while performing on Saturday Night Live. That wasn’t a one-off thing for him as he proved yesterday, when he showed up to an award show wearing another dress, one that was flashier than his previous look.

Cudi wore a custom wedding dress to attend the Council Of Fashion Designers Of America’s annual award show, the CFDA Awards, yesterday alongside American Emerging Designer Of The Year nominee Eli Russell Linnetz. Linnetz designed the look and People describes it, “Cudi’s wedding-inspired look featured a full lace catsuit worn underneath a matching tea-length skirt and sleek white blazer. Instead of heels, he opted for embellished white sneakers to add some edge. Of course, the ensemble wouldn’t be complete without a statement veil.”

Linnetz told the publication, “I just out of the blue sent him a text of a wedding dress and I was like, ‘Will you be my bride?’” Cudi also said, “I trust this man so I was down to take it wherever his mind went.”

Following Cudi’s SNL appearance where we wore a dress, he explained that he wasn’t concerned with negative reception his fashion choice, saying, “I’ve never been someone who’s like thinking about the backlash. I don’t give a f*ck about what anyone thinks. You can’t when you’re doing this sh*t. I knew it would piss some people off, but I love that. Because hip-hop is so weird about sh*t. I’ve already seen people making YouTube videos where they’re just strictly talking about me and this dress. Like grown men angry, grown Black men angry. ‘He’s doing something against men and masculinity, it’s a big thing going on…’ And I just be like, yo, this is so funny, this is crazy that I’ve stirred it up like this.

Nike Air Huarache “Praline” To Make Its Grand Return: Photos

Every year, Nike picks and chooses a silhouette that it wants to revive in some way. This decision is usually made depending on the year and whether or not the silhouette is coming upon a big birthday. In 2021, Nike has decided that the Nike Air Huarache will be the shoe they give a ton of attention to, and fans are certainly happy about it. A ton of retro colorways have made their way to the market, and now, we are getting at least one more.

The colorway in question is called “Praline” and it can be found down below. As you can see, the shoe has some light and dark brown tones all throughout the upper, all while purple is placed inside of the shoe. This nice little twist helps add a big pop of color to the shoe that will certainly make some fans happy. These colorways are purple for the fall and winter, so if you need something new and comfy in your arsenal, these are proving to be a solid choice.

Astroworld Security Guard Says He Was Hired “On The Spot” With No Concert Experience

Jackson Bush, a security guard who was hired to work at Travis Scott’s 2021 Astroworld Festival, says he was given the job “on the spot” with minimal prior experience and having never been to a concert before. Eight people ended up dying and hundreds more were injured at the event following a crowd surge during Scott’s performance.

“I don’t believe I was prepared,” Bush said. “I believe if we were all prepared the right way, that stuff would not have happened the way it did. Honestly, even with the amount of people that passed and went unconscious … the amount of injuries could have been avoided.”

Bush worked the event alongside his uncle, who claims his hand was broken during the crowd surge. Bush also says he was traumatized by the experience. 

Bush says he was informed that he’d be paid $17 per hour through Cash App for his work at the event, but has yet to receive the money. He allegedly didn’t have to provide an I.D. nor go through a background check to land the job.

Numerous lawsuits have been filed accusing Scott and other organizers of the festival of negligence. San Antonio attorney Thomas J. Henry recently said he expects his clients to receive billions in damages.

Patrick Mahomes Isn’t Backing Away From How He Plays

Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs are 5-4 this season which is certainly below their expectations. The last three seasons have seen Mahomes tear up the league, but now, he is looking ordinary at best. He is making way too many mistakes and forcing too many bizarre plays. It has turned the Chiefs into a turnover machine, and fans are desperately trying to figure out what’s wrong at this point. 

Recently, Mahomes was questioned about his playing style and whether or not he will keep playing that way, moving forward. In a report from the Kansas City Star, Mahomes stated he will always play with confidence and that as the season progresses, he wants to continue aiming for the big plays, as they have been his bread and butter in the past. As the saying goes: shooters shoot.

“I mean, I’m gonna take shots,” Mahomes said. “The last few years I’ve take those shots, and they’ve worked. I’ve taken those shots, and they haven’t worked (as well this season), and we’ve still been able to find ways to score points. “Whenever I’ve got a guy with a chance to make a play downfield, I’m going to give him a chance to make a play.”

With the AFC West showing signs of weakness, the Chiefs still have a reasonable shot at winning the division. In order to do that, however, Mahomes and the Chiefs are going to need to return to their old ways very fast.

Chloe Bailey’s Suggestive Video Provokes Fan Reaction

Chloe Bailey is one of R&B’s most exciting young vocalists along with her sister Halle. As she ventures into a solo career and explores her newfound adulthood, there have been some hiccups along the way.

Often, Chloe will post on Instagram spicy, attractive photos of herself. As this behavior is something she has never partaken in before the last year, people suspected she was forcing her sex appeal. She soon squandered those claims, attributing her social media posts as part of her maturing and learning about herself and her sexuality. 

Today (Nov. 11) marked a new chapter in her pursuit of confidence, as she posted a spicy video to thank her fans, or candy kisses and clovers as she called them, for four million Instagram followers. In the video, she is seen sucking on a lollipop while wearing lingerie and a loose black robe: “To my four million followers and counting, my candy kissers and my clovers, thank you all so much for loving me, and I love you right on back. There’s a lot more to come.”

As she ended the video by blowing a kiss to her fans, they seemed to be caught off guard by the gesture. On Twitter, fans showed their disapproval by comparing her video to a pop-up add they would get while using virus-vulnerable sites for pirating movies.

It seems that each time Chloe gives fans a look at her sexy outfits, she makes noise. Lately, her spicy red Halloween fit went viral. It does not seem like Chloe has any plans to slow down, so it may take some getting used to for fans.

Dwight Howard Offers Sympathy To Ben Simmons

Dwight Howard got to play for the Philadelphia 76ers last season which means he saw the Ben Simmons situation up close and personal. Of course, at the time, Simmons still seemed to be on good terms with the franchise, but he was certainly aware of some of the hangups Simmons had when it came to getting it done in the playoffs. Now that Simmons wants out, everything was put in a grander context that Howard can now recognize.

While speaking to Taylor Rooks of Bleacher Report, Howard got to give his thoughts on the Simmons situation and as you can see, he has great empathy for everything that is happening right now. In fact, Howard feels as though there are parallels between Simmons’ problems in Philly, and how Howard felt while in Orlando.

“Well you know, I felt like a part of me, I could see that in being as far as what happened with was happening with Ben when I was in Orlando,” Howard said. “It was some similar things happening. Now I just didn’t like the fact that whatever was going on on the inside had to be made public knowledge. Obviously, I’m there with Ben a lot, he’s one of my closest friends so I was upset to hear all the things that was being said about him… When we played the Hawks and we lost, I was upset at Ben on that play. I wanted him to dunk the ball, tear a rim down, but he didn’t do it and it wasn’t just his fault. So my thing was we can’t just blame him.”

Wendy Williams Provides Health Update Amidst Break From TV

Wendy Williams provided fans with an update on her health amidst her break from hosting her popular daytime television show. The talk show host has been absent from The Wendy Williams Show throughout the fall.

“HOW YOU DOIN’? I MISS YOU ALL! As everyone knows, my health has been a hot topic. I’m making progress but it’s just one of those things that’s taking longer than we expected,” Williams wrote on Instagram. “I’m a woman of a certain age, and I know enough to listen to my doctors and will return to my purple chair as soon as we all agree I’m ready.”

Williams has taken time off during her career before, dealing with Graves’ disease and a thyroid condition.

She continued: “I want to thank all of my staff and our guest hosts for stepping up and stepping in while I can’t be there. I also want to thank Debmar-Mercury and our stations for being so understanding and supportive while I work my way back. Most of all, I want to thank my fans. I have heard your prayers and comments and feel all the love! You are everything to me. I love spending my mornings with you all and I’m doing everything I can to get back to work, but right now Wendy has to focus on Wendy. I love you for watching.”

Michael Rappaport, Bill Bellamy, Jerry Springer, and more are all slated to fill in for Williams during upcoming episodes of the show.

Adam Abdul-Jabbar, Son Of Kareem, Sentenced For Stabbing 60-Year-Old Neighbor

On Tuesday, Adam Abdul-Jabbar was sentenced to six months in jail after stabbing his neighbor with a hunting knife after a dispute over trash cans in San Clemente, California, according to prosecutors the following day.

The son of Milwaukee Bucks and Los Angeles Lakers’ legend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Adam, plead guilty Tuesday and was sentenced to three counts of assault with a deadly weapon, one count of carrying a dirk or dagger, including sentencing enhancements for inflicting great bodily injury, according to the Orange County district attorney’s office and the New York Post.  

The victim, a 60-year-old Southern California man, shares a driveway with Abdul-Jabbar in San Clemente. According to prosecutors, after the neighbor confronted Abdul-Jabbar regarding taking in trash cans for Abdul-Jabbar’s elderly roommate, the neighbor was then stabbed several times in the back of the head, resulting in significant injuries. The 60-year-old man nearly died of blood loss, and collapsed outside of a hospital’s emergency room, according to prosecutors. The incident occurred on June 9th of last year. 

The 29-year-old Abdul-Jabbar accepted a plea deal from a judge in Orange County. His sentence was stayed until January 7th, so Abdul-Jabbar can apply for home confinement as opposed to incarceration, according to the Orange County district attorney’s office.  

Prosecutors objected to the son of a NBA Hall of Famer’s plea offer and sought a seven-year jail sentence for the violent attack.

In an official statement after the sentencing, District Attorney Todd Spitzer said, “We believe the complete disregard for human life over a dispute over trash cans is so egregious it warranted prison time.”

Spitzer said, “This slap on the wrist is an absolute miscarriage of justice. This man nearly bled to death in front of the emergency room doors after being stabbed so violently over and over that his skull was fractured.”

Probation officials will determine whether or not Abdul-Jabbar will be permitted home confinement.
