Cardi B Has “Never Been Happier” With Offset

Cardi B and Offset’s relationship has been disastrous at times. Whether it be cheating scandals or divorces and break-ups, the past four years have had their rough moments.

But, the couple has been giving off good vibes lately, and have not had a dispute in a while. On Friday (Nov. 19), Cardi B visited E! News’ show Daily Pop to discuss how fruitful her and Offset’s relationship has been recently: “We went through some challenges. You have to learn each other better. I feel like I’ve never been happier … I feel like, not even with just marriage, but the family and unity, the friendship that we have. The ‘I have your back, you have my back.’ It’s never been stronger.”

This sentiment comes a little over two months removed from Cardi and Set having their second child together in early September. 2021 has been a good year for the couple, as pretty much every year before now since 2017, when they first got together, included a scandal of some kind.

Around this time last year, Cardi B called off the divorce she had filed from Offset in September 2020. It was alleged that she did not trust Offset and wanted to teach him a lesson, but they did end up staying together.

The couple got married in September 2017, and four years later, they have reached a comfortable place with one another and have a beautiful family with two kids.

Do you think Cardi B and Offset will stay drama-free from here on out?

Rucci Is In True Form On “Back On My Dawg Sh*t”

There are a few rappers on the West Coast that are working as hard as Rucci. The Inglewood rapper’s been working overtime this year following the success of Midget. Between February and October, the rapper released three projects including his joint effort with AzChike, Kourtesy Of Us.

This week, he returned with his latest offering, Back On My Dawg Shit. Laced up with 10 songs and one sole feature from Peysoh, the album is littered with homages to the legends that came before. On “Fuck It Up,” he opens up with an interpolation of DMX’s “Where The Hood At.” The subsequent track, “Unt Unt,” opens up with a sample of Run DMC’s “Walk This Way.”

TheHxliday Is Switching Up His Sound & His Look

Baltimore-born rapper TheHxliday is making some changes, switching up his aesthetic in recent weeks. During his performance at Rolling Loud in New York City, the rapper first debuted his brand new look, cutting off his dreads and premiering a new single, which sounds a little different from his older music.

Throughout his rise to fame, the 19-year-old artist has collaborated with Polo G, Internet Money, and many more. He picked up the habit of releasing new music on holidays, helping fans celebrate the occasion with him as the soundtrack. He operates just well when there isn’t a celebration going on though, as evidenced by his latest single “Doses,” which came out on a random day in November.

As he heads into the next chapter of his music career, we caught up with TheHxliday backstage at Rolling Loud last month to speak about his new direction, growing up in Baltimore, his eclectic range of influences, support from his family, and more.

Read the unabridged editorial copy of HNHH’s interview with TheHxliday below.

HNHH: What was it like growing up in Baltimore?

TheHxliday: It was great. It’s great vibes. It’s not really much going on out there [in music], but for the food, I love seafood, that soft-shelled crab... It’s cool out there, especially if you’re just doing your own shit, doing your own thing… nobody will bother you.

What’s it like to be back at Rolling Loud after the lockdown?

It’s great, bro. It’s honestly just refreshing to see all this shit happen again.

You just dropped your new single “Doses.” What can you tell me about that record?

Bruh, it’s the most different song I feel like I’ve ever dropped. It’s completely different from anything I’ve done before, and I’m also aiming for a whole new look now, so I changed up my look. I cut the dreads off!

Obviously, you like to drop music on holidays— hence your name. Did you do anything special for Halloween this year?

I was Dead Presidents. We did a photoshoot for Halloween. It was hard as hell.

How did that actually come together, releasing new music on holidays?

I was almost born on Christmas— I’m a Sagittarius. I was due on Christmas Day, but my mom had me on the 20th. It was early, so she could be home for my brothers and stuff. When I got into music, I wanted to keep that element. Every holiday, I drop songs.

You come from a musical family. Your mom was a former musician. How integral was your family in setting you up for a successful music career?

A large portion, I would say. My mom is really an inspiration for me getting into music. Also the music I was around all the time as a kid— a lot of alternative rock. Green Day, My Chemical Romance, all that. I love it.

Who else were you listening to growing up?

Justin Bieber. Bruno Mars. The Weeknd. Swae Lee… Rae Sremmurd, to be exact. 50 Cent a little bit.

Last year, you were all over Internet Money’s album. What was it like working with them, and do you guys have more music coming?

That project, B4 The Storm, was a crazy project to be a part of. That was my first time ever going to Internet Money’s crib. They invited me. Taz [Taylor] is a cool ass dude. He was saying he f*cked with my music, he wanted to be a part of it. I went to the house for two songs, and those two songs were on the album. It’s crazy. We for sure gonna drop something multiple times. I feel like we should drop a solo project.

Now that you have your new single out, is there an album coming soon? What’s happening before the end of the year?

End of the year, I’m blowing up. I’m going number one. There’s a video coming. I got two songs on the way for sure. It’s gonna be crazy.

Brandon Bills Says He’s Still Down To Box DaBaby After DaniLeigh Drama

Just days after DaniLeigh’s brother, Brandon Bills, made it clear that he wants to fight her baby daddy, DaBaby, TMZ caught up with him outside The Grove in Los Angeles to get some more insight into the drama. When asked about his posts on social media following the explosive feud that took place at the co-parent’s North Carolina home, Bills admit to being “in [his] emotions.”

The “Chunky Chains” artist went on to say that he’s still down to box DaBaby. “We could get in that ring whenever, it don’t matter,” he told the camera. The reporter then commended Bills for sticking up for his sister to which he said, “of course, everybody’s telling me I did the right thing. Ain’t nobody calling me telling me I did the wrong thing.”

If you’re unfamiliar with the situation, let us refresh you. DaniLeigh was allegedly asleep at home with her child after having cooked a meal for DaBaby when the “VIBEZ” artist attempted to kick her out of their home. The mother of one explained on Instagram that the North Carolina-based artist became upset after she ordered a Plan B, revealing that he loves to finish inside of her without wanting to take any responsibility.

The two went on to have a very public back-and-forth, some of which was broadcast on Instagram Live and other parts shared on the app’s Stories section. DaBaby shared that he’s only ever seen DaniLeigh as a “side bitch,” prompting her to pull out plenty of receipts in an attempt to prove otherwise. As TMZ reports, the “Lil Bebe” singer was charged with two counts of simple assault following two police visits to Baby’s home last week.

When Dani’s brother got wind of the situation, he hopped on IG to challenge the father of his niece to a fight, which Bills told TMZ he thinks that he would win. “I don’t know what round it’s gon’ be, but he ain’t gon’ touch me, I can promise you that. I got $200,000 on it myself, independently with my own bread.”

Do you think Brandon Bills could take down DaBaby in a boxing match? Let us know below, and see the full clip of his interview with TMZ here.

Jack Harlow Celebrates Full Circle Moment On Tour

Jack Harlow’s recent success has been more steady than you would think. Since 2016, the Kentucky native has been dropping mixtapes and projects, as each new one boosted his stock.

On Saturday (Nov. 20), Jack took to Twitter to reflect on how far he has come in terms of his music and fanbase. He posted a photo of the first date from his first tour in 2018 in Birmingham, AL where there were only a handful of attendees, and contrasted it with his show that was taking place last night in the same city: “This is a photo of me performing at the very first show on my first tour ever. I was in Birmingham, Alabama in January 2018. Tonight is the last show of the tour I’m currently on…and we are finishing in Birmingham. It’s sold out. Thank u.”

Harlow’s sold out show last night took place at Iron City, a venue in Birmingham that holds 1300 people. So, in three years, Jack went from performing for around 15 people, to hundreds.

The last two years, specifically, have been very kind to Jack. His hits like 2020’s “Whats Poppin” and its subsequent remix with DaBaby, Tory Lanez and Lil Wayne, as well as 2021’s “Tyler Herro” and “Industry Baby” as a feature for Lil Nas X have made him a bonafide superstar.

Nas X explained that Jack’s ambition is the reason he included him on “Industry Baby”: “I love people that have these aspirations for a much bigger place than where they already are, you know? I feel like he’s very much kind of in a situation right now where I feel like I was at a point where like… you know, like he’s already had like a huge moment and more light ahead and I just want to help give him that boost. That’s what I’m hoping this is for him.”

So, while Jack Harlow is a wildly successful talent now, he got here via his determination and trusting the process.

Saweetie Performs “Icy Chain” & “Tap In” For “SNL” Debut

Saweetie is truly the queen of branding right now. Without a formal album out, she’s secured partnerships with McDonald’s, Crocs, and even was named MAC’s Cosmetic’s global brand ambassador. However, her album Pretty Bitch Musicis expected to be out next year after much delay but the anticipation continues to build. On Friday, she debuted her new record, “Icy Chain” which she brought to Saturday Night Live this weekend. The Bay Area rapper performed her new single, along with a medley of “Tap In” and “Best Friend” sans Doja Cat.

Fans initially expected Saweetie’s new album to drop back in June but in an interview with Big Tigger, she explained that she wanted to make sure it was a perfect body of work that fully represents her. At the time, she said that she was reconstructing certain songs after sitting with the album in its entirety.

Unfortunately, the album’s release has been pushed back until 2022. Prior to taking on hosting duties at the MTV Awards, she said that the album was lacking soul, so she made sure her vision came across to her audience.

“It’s dropping soon,” she said. “Honestly, it was a body of work with no soul. So right now, I’m working on the details because I really want the world to feel me.”

Check out her performance at SNL below.

Spotify Removes Shuffle Button From Album Pages Following Adele’s Request

When listening to an album for the first time, it’s instinctual for some people to hit the shuffle button (rather than play the project all the way through from top to bottom) just as they would when listening to a random playlist, but thanks to Adele, Spotify is making an effort to combat this.

As music lovers already know, most artists spend an abundance of time carefully curating their tracklists, making sure their stories are told in the best way possible for not only them as creators, but also for us, as listeners.

Late on November 20th, @PopCrave tweeted out, “Following the release of 30 by @Adele, Spotify removed the shuffle button as the default option when playing albums. Now, listeners have to listen to every album’s tracklist in order.” Not long after, the “Chasing Pavements” artist responded, “This was the only request I had in our ever changing industry!”

“We don’t create albums with so much care and thought into our track listing for no reason. Our art tells a story and our stories should be listened to as we intended. Thank you Spotify for listening,” the mother of one wrote.

On Friday, Adele shared her highly anticipated project, 30, which has already begun receiving praise from fans all over the world. The thing about the English songstresses’ work is that it’s genre-defining and able to connect with people from all walks of life, no matter what they usually have playing in their headphones.

As Forbes reports, the album’s release amassed an impressive 60.7 million global streams in its first day out, coming in behind Taylor Swift’s Folklore and Evermore, Ariana Grande’s Thank U, Next, and Olivia Rodrigo’s Sour.

Do you shuffle albums on your first listen, or are you glad that Spotify is pushing for listening in the original order as the artist intended?
