Multiple HIV/AIDS Organizations Claim DaBaby Hasn’t Contacted Or Donated To Them Since Their Last Meeting

Last summer, DaBaby sabotaged his career. The rapper stirred launched into a bizarre rant on stage at Miami’s Rolling Loud festival, targeting the LGBTQ community and those with HIV/AIDS. As a result, he was dropped from a number of festivals. He eventually sat down with nine organizations, including GLAAD and the Black AIDS Institute, to apologize for his actions. However, talking appears to be all that DaBaby did.

The Daily Beast says multiple HIV/AIDS organizations have told them that DaBaby has not donated to them nor reached out in the interim. “Since then, we have not received any outreach, partnership, or funding from DaBaby,” Pavni Guharoy, a communications consultant for the Black AIDS Institute, told the publication. “The onus is now on him, if he chooses to, to convert his misinformation into allyship by supporting the work of the Black AIDS Institute and other people of color-led HIV organizations.”

Venita Ray, co-executive director of Positive Women’s Network, also says she has not heard from nor received a donation from DaBaby. Still, she adds that the door remains open for future discussions. Ian L. Haddock, founder and executive director of The Normal Anomaly Initiative, also confirmed that he’d also received nothing since.

“Though we felt the conversation was extremely powerful a couple months ago, we haven’t heard anything back as an organization since our conversation, Haddock said.

Since then, DaBaby has returned to performing at festivals, including New York’s own version of Rolling Loud in October.

Kid Cudi Pens Touching Tribute To Virgil Abloh: “Visionary, Genius, Disrupter”

Last night, the loved ones of Virgil Abloh joined together for his final Louis Vuitton showing. The brand held a runways show of Abloh’s Spring-Summer 2022 Collection and it was an event that continues to be talked about in fashion circles. There was a moving tribute in addition to Abloh’s famous friends strutting down the runaway in the last collection the late creative icon would have with the luxury brand.

Quavo, Offset, Kanye West, Kim Kardashian, Pharrell, and Kid Cudi were just a few notable names that attended and/or walked in the event, and following his appearance, Cudi penned a tribute to his departed friend.

The rapper uploaded several photos of himself and Abloh and fondly remembered their friendship, as well as Abloh’s inspirational works in several industries.

“It’s taken me a few days to make this post. Tryna find the right words,” wrote Cudi. “Virgil was the kindest most warmest soul I’ve ever met. He was a true visionary, genius, disrupter, epic DJ and artist, but he was also just truly a beautiful human. I’ve never known anyone quite like him. And I know i never will. Once in a lifetime.”

He ended his message with, “You changed the world forever. You did that. I love you Virgil. Goodbye my friend.” Read through Kid Cudi’s tribute in full below.

Paul Pierce Speaks On Blake Griffin & Kemba Walker Debacles

It has been a wild week in the NBA as various former high-level stars have been demoted by their respective teams. Interestingly enough, this is all taking place in the city of New York, as Kemba Walker was recently taken out of the Knicks rotation, while the same thing happened to Blake Griffin over in Brooklyn.

These moves have been a harsh reminder of just how brutal the NBA can be to those who simply aren’t showcasing their value anymore. Five years ago, Griffin and Walker would have been number one options on their respective teams, but now, they simply can’t cut it against their peers. 

This is something that has Paul Pierce doing a lot of reflection, as he recently took to Twitter with his views on the whole thing.

“So you telling me Kemba Walker and Blake Griffin are not even playable anymore Damn!!” Pierce wrote emphatically. It’s certainly a good question to ask, however, the last time Pierce played in the NBA, both of these players were at or near the top of their respective games. A lot has changed since then, and the NBA game is starting to evolve past both of them.

Alec Baldwin Claims He “Didn’t Pull The Trigger” In Fatal “Rust” Film Shooting

Who should be held responsible for the shocking death of Halyna Hutchins remains a question that authorities are trying to answer. The filmmaker was working on the set of Rust when, somehow, a live round was placed in a prop gun. When it was fired, supposedly by star Alec Baldwin, both Hutchins and the film’s director were shot. She was the only fatality.

In the weeks that have followed, there have been thousands of reports regarding how such a mishap could occur. The movie’s armorer, the person responsible for the prop weapons, claimed that she was just as clueless and stated she was not at fault for the tragedy.

Baldwin has shared a heavy portion of criticism because reports have stated that he was the person who pulled the trigger. Hutchins’s family have reportedly stated that they do not hold Baldwin personally responsible but several prominent figures, including politicians, have called him a “murderer.”

Meanwhile, Baldwin recently sat down for his first in-depth interview about the incident, and during the chat, he stated once again that he had “no idea” that a live round was in the gun. Puzzlingly, he also said that he “didn’t pull the trigger” during the shooting.

“I would never point a gun at anyone and pull the trigger at them, never,” he said. “Someone put a live bullet in a gun, a bullet that wasn’t even supposed to be on the property… I think back and I think of what could I have done?” Baldwin said. “She was someone who was loved by everyone who worked with [her] and liked by everyone who worked with [her], and admired… I mean, even now I find it hard to believe that [she’s gone]. It doesn’t seem real to me.”

Kanye West’s best contribution to the sneaker world has to be the Adidas Yeezy Boost 350 V2. This is a shoe that came out all the way back in 2016 and since that time, it has received a ton of great colorways that fans still love to purchase. Over the last few months, the brand has been trying to innovate when it comes to the 350 V2, although, according to Yeezy Mafia, it appears as though the silhouette might be going back to its roots.

Everyone remembers the Black Friday colorways which had a black primeknit upper with a colored stripe on the sides. This is a formula that always proved to be successful, and in the Spring of 2022, this look is going to make a comeback through the “Dazzling Blue” offering.

As you can see in the images below, this shoe has a blue stripe on the side of a black upper. It is a very clean look that fans are certainly going to be interested in. After all, fans were begging for a colorway like this back in 2016, and now, they are finally getting it.

Adrian Peterson Finds A New NFL Home

Adrian Peterson is one of the most legendary running backs in the history of the NFL, and over the past few years, he has been jumping from team to team. When you get up in age, it becomes harder to be an effective and consistent RB. Regardless, there are still teams out there who feel like Peterson can get the job done at this stage in his career.

Just a few weeks ago, Peterson was signed by the Tennessee Titans in the aftermath of Derrick Henry’s leg injury. Unfortunately, Peterson’s run on the team didn’t last all that long as he was recently released by the franchise.

Now, however, Peterson is already back on his feet as he has been given a chance by a struggling NFC West team. According to Adam Schefter, it was confirmed today that the Seattle Seahawks had placed Peterson on their practice roster. It remains to be seen if and when he will be promoted, however, it remains clear that Peterson will be getting yet another shot in the NFL.

Peterson is still very confident in his abilities, so it’s good to see some teams taking a chance. Only time will tell if this is an opportunity that could see him become a significant part of a struggling offense.
