Kodak Black & Girlfriend Host Baby Shower, He Puts A Ring On It

Baby fever has taken over for Kodak and his girlfriend, Maranda Johnson. Months ago, it was officially announced that Kodak was expecting his second child with the real estate agent, and it all came as a shock considering he was recently cuddled up with rapper Mellow Rackz on Instagram. The two seemingly suggested that they were engaged, but that soon quickly fizzled and there were reports that the couple was no more.

Then, in September, TMZ shared the news about Kodak and Maranda’s upcoming edition while also revealing that the pair have dated on and off since meeting four years ago.

We previously reported on the couple’s good news and at the time, it was stated that Maranda found out she was pregnant back in April. That would mean that she’s expected to give birth at the top of 2022, and judging by the festivities uploaded online, Kodak and Maranda hosted their baby shower. Clips have begun circulating and it shows that Kodak put a ring on it…sort of.

It was implicitly stated that he proposed as many reports only speak of this as a “gift,” but Kodak did seem to slide that ring onto the proper finger. Partygoers filmed the precious moment and Maranda was more than happy with the event’s outcome. Check out the happy couple below.

The Weeknd Is Releasing A Series Of NFT Collectibles On Tom Brady’s Autograph Platform

This past October, The Weeknd said on his Apple Music show Memento Mori that his next album is “complete,” but that some additions needed to be made before release. “Some exciting features coming out in the fall before the album drops,” he said. “We’ll slowly be unraveling that info in the next couple months.” Well, we just caught wind of an exciting feature, although it seems as though this is more closely related to the recent diamond certification of “Blinding Lights” than the next album.

In a newly-announced NFT collectibles series, The Weeknd and Billboard are releasing a 7-piece animated series that celebrates the song’s designation as “The No. 1 song of all time.” At 90 weeks, the song became the longest charting song on the Billboard Hot 100 and the news was announced on the cover of Billboard magazine. The cover is one of the seven collectibles, which is available to view on the NFT platform, Autograph, which was co-founded by Tom Brady of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. It’s being auctioned off on OpenSea, which dubs itself “the world’s largest NFT marketplace.” A statement on the collection elaborated on each piece in the collection:

“The 7-piece, animated collection is composed of four designs, including a single NFT featuring The Weeknd’s recent cover on Billboard Magazine, which first announced the news of his record-breaking achievement, and three digital trading cards creatively inspired by the iconic “Blinding Lights” music video. The digital trading cards will be released in three tiers of rarity, and each of the collection’s unique, culturally-significant collectibles is individually signed to allow fans the opportunity to own a defining moment in music history as never before, from one of today’s most influential artists.”

For what it’s worth, The Weeknd is now a part of the Board of Directors at Autograph. The auction began on December 20 and continues until December 23 at 1 PM EST. All of the bidding is done via the ETH cryptocurrency. Take a look at the magazine cover NFT below and view the whole collection here.

Drakeo The Ruler’s Mother Said She Will File A Lawsuit Over His Death

A festival in Los Angeles was marred by tragedy this weekend when rising rapper Drakeo The Ruler was stabbed. After being transported to the hospital in critical condition that night, he later died from his injuries. Born Darrell Caldwell, the rapper was slated to perform at the festival, which also included headliners 50 Cent and Snoop Dogg. Instead, the event ended earlier after the fight broke out backstage and Caldwell was stabbed.

The music world, particularly in Caldwell’s native LA, is devastated by the loss of a young talent. His family and loved ones are also reeling at the sudden loss. His mother, Darrylene Corniel, spoke to Rolling Stone about the murder. “He was hit in his neck,” she began. “I saw him when I went to the hospital. They said it’s a homicide, so I wasn’t able to hug him or kiss him or anything like that. I had to look at him through a window. I need this to be out there. I need people to know. And I do want justice for my son. And I do believe that justice will be served. I will not rest until justice is served.”

She added that lax security backstage seemed to be part of what led to the incident. “They said there were, like, 40 to 60 people,” she said, citing information from her other son, Devonte Caldwell, aka Ralfy The Plug, who was trying to protect his brother. “He was trying to fight, but when he turned around, he could see his brother with blood gushing out of him. He was like, ‘Did they stab you?’ It was like, there were so many of them.”

Corniel said she felt a lack of security was part of the larger issue, and that she plans to take legal action. “We plan to sue. This happened backstage at an event. Someone has to be held accountable. They let all these people in, and you’re not supposed to have all these people backstage. And your security is supposed to be in place. The whole program should have been orchestrated a lot better than what it was. And there should have been more protection. Even if you have metal detectors, even if you pat them down, you let those people come in there. You had more people come in than you were supposed to. And you allowed them to jump my son. You didn’t protect my son.”

Jason Lee Clears The Air With Megan Thee Stallion, Wants Same With Doja Cat & Jordyn Woods

News cycles change like the wind and social media moves quickly from one topic to the next with the help of blogs. Those firmly established on Instagram are in an unspoken war of sorts, although, it seems that many have banded together to help promote one another’s platforms. Jason Lee has long dominated in this arena since 2015 with Hollywood Unlocked, and while he has covered thousands of stories and broken several exclusives. Lee reflected on some moments and shared there are a few famous figures he’d like to connect with to clear the air.

We recently spoke with him for our HNHH’s 12 Days of Christmas series, and nestled in between discussions about propelling the culture and detailing new plans of 2022, Lee revealed a few celebrity names that he hopes to mend fences with in the new year.

“I think that Doja Cat is somebody who I was really critical of because of things that have popped up with her on social media that, you know, maybe I was a little harder on her than I should have been,” Lee admitted. “Would love to [talk], doesn’t mean that I don’t believe what I said. It just means that I’m in a place now where I would love to have space to talk to her. [And] Jordyn Woods. I think that I was gaslighted by the Kardashians and made a lot of promises that didn’t come to fruition, which I think may have driven some of my personal interest in that story that had nothing to do with me.”

He also shared that he and Megan Thee Stallion were able to sit down and have a discussion about some of the things he said about her, as well. Lee stated that he didn’t have a personal grudge against Megan, but he was “very critical of different moves that she and other celebrities have made jockeying for white people’s validation and not really going back to the culture that talks and pushes them every day.”

I was happy that when I ran into her at Cardi B’s birthday party, when she turned around, I hadn’t noticed her, but she turned around, I was standing there. I was a few cocktails in, so, I know where it was gonna go, but she turned to me and she said, “You know, I’m a good person.” I said, “I know you’re an amazing person and I love you. That’s why I introduced you to Cardi and I want to build with you. But I also need you to see us and I need you to participate with us because we do love you. But you can’t be afraid of us. And you can’t be afraid of questions that everybody wants to know the answers to, because they’re going to be asked somewhere. Well, why not give it to us?” We exchanged numbers and we have been in contact and talking since then. Things seem to be cool.

Lee added that he only retaliates when his “credibility is attacked or questioned or I’m personally attacked.” He mentioned his repeated run-ins with Nicki Minaj’s Barbz fan base. “Yeah, then it becomes personal. I’m willing to roll up the sleeves and get in the dirt. But I’m also in the space now where I believe instead of getting in the dirt, let’s get in the room and put some microphones on and let’s talk about it.”

Mariah Carey Was Inspired By Prince To Reach Out To Britney Spears

For those that have reached a certain level of superstardom, they will tell you that although celebrity life may look amazing, it is not always the easiest to navigate. The world has been enthralled with Britney Spears’s conservatorship legal chaos for years and finally, the Popstar was able to shed herself of its restrictions. Spears is now in full control of her life and finances, but prior to the ruling, she was flooded with commentary from her fellow stars.

Peers like Christina Aguilera, Lady Gaga, and Iggy Azalea have all spoken out in support of Spears, but Mariah Carey revealed she made contact with the singer. In an interview with NME, Carey was asked if she felt an “affinity” to Spears because they both have faced obstacles in the industry.

“I’m not sure it’s an affinity,” she answered. “I think everybody on this planet deserves to be free and what they did to her, what I saw, was horrific. So I reached out to her through a mutual friend because I wanted her to know: ‘Guess what? You’re not alone.’ I remember when I was going through a lot of stuff years ago, Prince reached out to me and gave me a Bible and he talked to me for hours. He’s an amazing person and he cared about the music business and the industry being so screwed up – which it is.”

“You’ve got to be a giving person,” she added. “It doesn’t matter whether they’re my best friend or whatever, I just felt like it was the right thing to do.” Meanwhile, Spears and Sam Asghari are rumored to be planning their wedding.

Jayda Cheaves Answers If She’s Willing To Rekindle Lil Baby Romance

They have been a longstanding on-again-off-again Hip Hop couple, and it seems that the romance between Lil Baby and Jayda Cheaves has grown cold. The pair share a young son and have continued to support one another’s endeavors, making their co-parenting relationship one of the more solid displays that we’ve seen from celebrities.

Still, fans have continued to pester both Baby and Jayda about getting back together. While chatting with Hollywood Unlocked, Jason Lee told Jayda that he liked the couple together and wondered if there was a possibility that they could rekindle their romance.

“It’s just like, when there’s so much tension, so many things have happened in the midst of all of that like, ‘He loves you,’ all of this. Like, yeah, he do love me, I’mma say, but as far as the internet, like I always say, we’re comin’ up together. He learning stuff he never even seen before about social media and all that and I’m seeing things way different than I saw them before as I get older.”

“It’s just a lot of damage as far as what has been done on social media, so once we can get over that part, I feel like maybe we could rekindle and rebuild another relationship. But as far as right now, it’s so much damage publicly to just put a band-aid over something and say, ‘Ok, let’s just get back together. No.”

Lee asked her if the damage had to do with the effects of fame or those rumored infidelities.

“I think a little bit of both,” Jayda answered. “A lot of the allegations weren’t really allegations [laughs].” She hinted that many of the rumors about Baby cheating on her were true and she “stuck beside him” because she figured if she broke up with him, she would encounter the same problems with “the next rich n*gga.”

“After a while, it’s kinda like, ‘Dang, I cant’ keep doing this to myself because it’s like, what am I getting in the end?” Watch Jayda Cheaves detail her relationship with Lil Baby below.

Raekwon Details Complicated Relationship With RZA & Avoiding Wu-Tang Drama

The Wu-Tang Clan is an unmatched collective that is respected in all facets of the music industry, but their personal journeys haven’t been easy. We’ve often heard behind-the-scenes information courtesy of documentaries or Hulu biopics, but Raekwon is giving his perspective in his book,  From Staircase to Stage: The Story of Raekwon and the Wu-Tang Clan. The Rap legend also recently sat down with VladTV where he spoke about his complicated relationship with fellow Wu member RZA, adding that RZA could convince the Rap group to do just about anything because he was so convincing.

In his book, Raekwon also mentioned a conversation that he had with his collaborator about their system, stating that their way of doing things was out of wack. According to Raekwon, RZA told him that it wasn’t the system that was the problem, but the rappers, themselves.

“I could never respect that,” said Raekwon. “Now you pointin’ fingers. Now you tryin’ to throw it back on us when in all reality, you are apart of us, so it’s all of us. Where you get this ‘you’ sh*t from? Like I said, I would say the same things to the boys, too, because I’m a vocal n*gga. When it come to me feelin’ some kinda way, I gotta say something ’cause I’m hearing the chatters in the house. So, when you hear the chatters in the house, it’s like, yo, what the f*ck are we doin’? Yo, let’s get to it. Let’s find out what’s going on.”

“A lot of times, it was always the love that we had and the respect there, that the business got way caught up in it,” he added. “And a lot of times it’s like, like I said, I feel like yo, damn, I don’t really wanna spaz on my n*ggas because I love these n*ggas, and at the same time, we built somethin’ so beautiful, that the world is attracted to it. So, let it go. Let it fly. It’s gonna fix itself.”

When reflecting on where they came from and seeing where they were, Raekwon said that many of the little things were dismissed as to not cause problems. “But sometimes, the little things mean a lot. One little thing can turn into another f*ckin’ little thing, and then, you have seventeen little things that become a big f*ckin’ problem, now.”

“That’s what was goin’ on with this family, with this assembled family. Assembled.” Watch Raekwon open up below.
