Rapper turned accomplished actor Method Man, can appreciate a low-key relationship. The “Power Book” actor recently expressed gratitude for his 30 year relationship and marriage to his beloved wife, Tamika Smith.
Born Clifford Smith, Jr., the 53-year-old, has been married to Tamika for about as long as his storied career. In a recent interview with Vanity Fair, he reflected on the advantages of keeping his love life and family unit private.
“I’ve been married to the same woman for 30 years, and the fact that my wife and I stay out of the public eye is a blessing in itself,” Method Man shared with Vanity Fair.

Ge this, the topic of his marriage came to light when Method Man was asked about his past party lifestyle, which he admitted he really enjoyed despite what some of his lyrics and image projected.
He said, “I think there was some afterparty [a long time ago] in California, and I was having a bad day that day, but we all went out anyway. And the party was lit, it was a nice party, but I never felt so alone in my life.”
This feeling of isolation instilled that the party scene within an often toxic entertainment industry culture, wasn’t for him anymore. “And the fact that I felt conscious of being alone in a crowded room… then I felt uncomfortable,” he continued. “I wasn’t into it at all, and it was like, none of this is for me anymore.”
It’s clear Method Man values his privacy and time with Tamika. They met in the late ’90s when she was his personal assistant. The couple has been together for over 30 years and shares three children. Talk about the family unit.
