Lil Wayne Reveals Stance On Doing The Super Bowl Halftime Show

Lil Wayne is a legend of hip-hop, and there isn’t all that much he hasn’t done at this point. Overall, he has numerous chart-topping records and albums. Moreover, he has the respect of all of his peers. You would be hard-pressed to find someone who doesn’t have Wayne in their top five or their top 10. However, there are a couple of things that Wayne has yet to do. One of those things is performing at the Super Bowl halftime show as a headlining act.

This past year, Rihanna had the honor of doing the halftime show. Furthermore, we got a hip-hop-themed performance the year before as numerous legends took to the stage. When you are selected to perform at the halftime show, it is a massive honor. In fact, the artists aren’t even paid to do it. Most of the time, they are taking money out of their own pocket to put on a show. That said, while speaking to Rolling Stone, Lil Wayne made it clear that he is interested in doing it.

“We wouldn’t even worry about the game after that,” Lil Wayne explained. “Everybody knew that one kid [who] was watching the halftime show, but that’d be one of the first Super Bowls that they’ll be like, ‘Both teams were out on the field watching the halftime show.’” At this point, Wayne would have a whole plethora of hits to perform. Not to mention, the players have grown up listening to Wayne, so it would definitely lead to a whole lot of fanfare.

Hopefully, the NFL takes note and invites Lil Wayne to perform. Overall, it would be a truly historic moment. Let us know if you want to see this happen, in the comments section below. Additionally, stay tuned to HNHH for more news from around the music world.
