Lil Durk has been on a winning streak recently. From his music to his contributions to his community, the rapper has been on an upward climb. His latest release, “All My Life,” is a single featuring J. Cole. Lyrically, it is about Lil Durk changing the way the public views him. That has certainly been happening for the rapper as he has made significant strides to help his community and himself. He has been very vocal recently about his focus on mental health. The rapper has also had several meetings with the new Chicago mayor about how to improve the lives of the city’s children. He even attending the mayor’s swearing-in ceremony. Additionally, Lil Durk seems to have risen above any supposed competition musically.
Lil Durk and NBA YoungBoy have had a pretty public beef recently, but it seems like the numbers speak for themselves. Durk’s single was released on the same day as YoungBoy’s newest mixtape, Richest Opp. The Chicago rapper was meant to release his entire album on the same day, as well, but he decided to delay it. YoundBoy expressed his frustration towards Durk for delaying the release of Almost Healed. However, it seems that the voice has achieved more success with his May 12 release than YoungBoy. According to Spotify, the 17 tracks on Richest Opp have accumulated a total of 15 million streams. Furthermore, only four songs from the mixtape have surpassed 1 million streams. In contrast, “All My Life” alone has amassed 21 million streams. Both projects are yet to make their chart debuts. However, “All My Life” is projected to debut at #2 on the Billboard 100.
Lil Durk Says A Snitch Took Away “Half Of His Life”
Lil Durk has been making strides to improve his mental health and strengthen his community. However, that doesn’t mean the Chicago rapper likes snitches. In a new interview that was posted on Akademiks Instagram page, he makes his position very clear. “I hate all rats. If you ever told, if you ever tell, I hate you. Like, with a passion,” Lil Durk said. “That made me who I am today. That took away half of my life. Motherf*cker telling on my pops… so I was raised by a woman… my momma. So I really hate rats with a real passion. Like, I hate you. Bad. I’m looking to the camera. I hate f*cking rats.”
Instagram users took to the comment section on the post to let their feelings on the matter be known. Some agreed with Lil Durk, while others pointed out that the “rat” can’t be blamed for crimes that his father committed. “He should be mad his dad was involved in that gang shit,” one commenter said. Another chimed in to agree, stating, “Father should have made better choices.” What do you think of Lil Durk’s comments on snitches?
