Kevin Gates Talks Splitting Finances, Calls Wealth “Of The Heart” His Priority

Rapper Kevin Gates recently took to Instagram to share his thoughts surrounding splitting finances in relationships. In the Instagram Live hosted by Gates, a viewer asked to hear his thoughts on her “going 50/50 with [her] man.” Gates responded by sharing his personal experience, saying that he has been with a woman who was able to provide him with something money can’t buy.

The rapper begins, “I have been in a relationship where the woman provided me intangible wealth.” He elaborated, saying there “was no amount of money that could pay for” what she gave him. “[The woman] did everything to make [his life] peaceful and it motivated [him] and allowed [him] to focus and make more money,” Gates explained. About the relationship, he says “50/50 wasn’t half of the rent, but she provided a place of peace to me in order to reach my highest potential.” He cites, “different types of wealth,” saying he doesn’t “look at wealth as something that’s of the pocket.” The rapper claims he looks at it instead as “of the heart and of the mind.”

Gates Puts Love Above Money

Following Gates’ story, a viewer commented, “Especially if she’s the mother of your kid.” He responded, “I’m gonna be honest with you, all my children’s mothers is good.” The rapper additionally discussed “hearing dudes talk about baby mama drama.” He says that it’s not something he personally deals with. “I dont have that problem,” the rapper shares. “I don’t have no bad relationships with none of my children’s mothers,” he revealed. Gates went on to say that, “They all love me and support me,” calling himself “very very blessed and fortunate.”

In April, Gates also shared in an interview that he prefers hunting for his own meat over buying it at the grocery store. He added that his love for hunting is also good for his mental health. “It takes pure focus. It’s almost like meditation,” the rapper shared. He added, “You got to be in sync with it.” Gates then went on to explain his appreciation and respect for the animals he hunts. “I know I’m not going to get instant results,” he shares. “I know I got to put work in… to cultivate it and develop it.”
