With over seven billion people in the world, finding another human being who looks like you isn’t exactly mission impossible. While some people are born alongside their identical twins, others find their doppelgangers later in life, noticing similarities after discovering a new actor in a movie or coming across a familiar-looking stranger on social media. Of course, there are those who insist they look similar to another person – usually someone of great fame and fortune – though the rest of the world begs to differ. GloRilla happens to fall into the latter category, although her grandma rushed to her defence over the weekend.
The 23-year-old is no stranger to flexing her confidence on social media, whether while bragging about her “curves” or comparing herself to Rihanna. Earlier this year, GloRilla convinced some fans that she bares a resemblance to the expecting mother, though many refuse to even entertain the idea. On Sunday (March 19), the rapper caused the debate to resurface by sharing an audio clip from a recent voicemail on Twitter.
GloRilla’s Grandma Ends the Debate
“How come you didn’t tell me Rihanna and Gloria look so much alike?” the elderly woman asks. “I can’t tell them girls apart on TV, that girl looks just like your daughter. OK, talk to you later girl, bye,” her message ended. When reposting on social media, GloRilla added, “My [grandma] confirmed it . Y’all be hating byeee!!! @rihanna hey sis I luv you.” The post has since earned nearly 10K likes, as well as hundreds of replies reacting to the sweet voicemail.
“Black southern grannies are different,” one person joked in the replies. Others added, “LMAO PERIOD! It’s giving you gotta use this as a song/album intro,” and “She called to say that then said bye LMAO ,” others added. Elsewhere in the news, GloRilla surprised her fans this past weekend with the bonus edition of her Anyways, Life’s Great… EP. She recruited Chicago’s Lil Durk and Florida’s Trina for the project, who appear on “Ex’s (Phatnall Remix)” and “Nut Quick (Remix)” respectively. Check that out here, and let us know if you think the “FTCU” hitmaker’s grandma is being truthful about her resemblance to Rihanna in the comments below.
