GloRilla Reacts To Second Death Following Concert Stampede

GloRilla and Finesse2Tymes concert in Rochester, NY ended following reports of a gunshot. According to reports, a stampede broke out at Main Street Armory during the concert. Panic ensued and people rushed to exit the concert, leading to a deadly stampede. Police reported a 33-year-old woman identified as Rhondesia Belton dead after the incident, in addition to nearly 10 others who suffered injuries. Two of those individuals were in critical condition with life-threatening injuries. “Tragedy of epic proportions,” Rochester mayor Malik D Evans said. “When you go to a concert, you do not expect to be trampled. Your loved ones expect you to be able to come home.”

Unfortunately, authorities confirmed a second death from the stampede. Police said a 35-year-old woman succumbed to her injuries on Monday, shortly after confirming the death of the 33-year-old woman. The city hasn’t revealed her identity to the public, though GloRilla sent her condolences on Twitter shortly after. “I am devastated & heartbroken over the tragic deaths that happened after Sunday’s show. My fans mean the world to me 😢praying for their families & for a speedy recovery of everyone affected,” she tweeted.

Police Share Details From GloRilla Concert

Following the stampede, police explained that they received reports of gunshots and pepper spray in the venue. “We are hearing many reports of potential causes, including crowd size, shots fired, pepper spray and more,” they said in a statement. However, they later confirmed that none of the injuries were consistent of gunshot wounds. “Preliminary reports from people at the scene indicate that these injuries were caused from being trampled. We do not have any evidence of gunshots being fired or anyone being shot or stabbed,” police said.

After learning of the death of one of her fans, GloRilla said that she was unaware of any deaths or injuries until she left the venue. “I’m just now hearing about what happened wtf 😢😢😢praying everybody is ok,” she tweeted.
