The Drake curse is alive and well, it seems. Over the years, the phenomenon has taken a grip on the sports world. Some fans and teams believe that meeting Drake around game time can result in a loss. Take the World Cup, for example. Team Canada’s Alphonse Davies posted a flick of himself with the Her Loss rapper days before they were eliminated. At this point, Canadian supporters believed it to be the return of the Drake curse. However, this theory has been disproven on several instances, including over the Super Bowl weekend.
Just before the Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles went head-to-head for the Lombardi, Drizzy hit the ‘Gram to reveal who he put his money on. The Canadian rapper banked nearly a million on the Chiefs, revealing his “psychotic” bets just days before the big game. Many felt as though the odds would be in Philly’s favor. In fact, the Eagles were 1.5-point favorites ahead of the Super Bowl. However, the Chiefs came out on top, proving that the Drake curse might not actually be real.
Drizzy Drake And The Tale Of The Reverse Curse
Following the Chiefs win, Drake didn’t take long to troll the Philadelphia Eagles, as well as hometown heroes Lil Uzi Vert and Meek Mill. The rapper teamed up with Stake for a skit titled Drizzy Drake And The Tale Of The Reverse Curse which follows Drake on game day. The rapper rocks an Eagles jersey while pulling of the Lil Uzi Vert dance to “I Wanna Rock” then rapping along to Meek’s “Dreams and Nightmares Intro.”
“The Reverse Curse,” Drake captioned the post along with a money face and laughing emojis. The rapper ended up winning some major loot by the end of the night last Sunday. Per Markets Insider, Drake cashed out on $512,000 in Bitcoin winnings as the Chiefs took home the trophy for the third time. The Canadian rapper evidently worked the curse in his favor and now he’s up by half a million. Check out the clip above and sound off with your thoughts on the Drake curse in the comments.
