Brazilian fans won’t welcome Drake again, mainly after canceling his set at Lollapalooza Brazil to link-up with 50 Cent. The “God’s Plan” rapper performed across Latin America this month ahead of his massive North American tour with 21 Savage. Unfortunately, hours before his set at Lollapalooza Brasil, the festival announced that he wouldn’t perform anymore. Apparently, the rapper lacked essential team members for his live show.
“Due to unforeseen circumstances, Drake is without members of his sound and production team, essential to the realization of the Lollapalooza show in Sao Paulo,” reads a translated statement read on the festival’s social media pages. “Drake was excited to perform for his fans in Brazil. Unfortunately, this is beyond his control. Sorry.” Shortly afterward, though, Drizzy and 50 Cent linked up in a club in Miami. Many of his fans at the festival weren’t happy, even after Lolla Brasil offered refunds for replacing the Canadian star with Skrillex.
Lollapalooza Brazil Attendees Bash Drake
Before the news hit social media, a festival organizer emerged on stage to break the news to the audience and they were not happy about it. The crowd began to chant in Portuguese out of frustration at Drake’s cancellation. However, fans were even more vocal on social media after he and 50 Cent linked up at a Miami nightclub. “DRAKE CANCELLED HIS HEADLINING SLOT AT LOLLAPALOOZA BRAZIL SO HE COULD GO TO THE CLUB IN MIAMI WITH 50 CENT,” one fan wrote. “GRINGOS IN FUCKING LATIN AMERICA. I HATE Y’ALL.”
Unfortunately, there are other people who simply want to have Drizzy banned from festivals, at least the ones that took place in Latin America in the last week. Drake faced backlash after performing a relatively short set at Lollapalooza Argentina – 40 to 50 minutes – which is significantly shorter than most main festival acts. On top of that, he reportedly canceled a scheduled live stream of his set, leaving many of his fans who couldn’t attend the festival frustrated at home.
