In an episode of WorldStar‘s “Culture Shock” podcast that was shared yesterday, radio personality DJ Self stated that Ice Cube is a “way better” MC than Nas. The clip was shared on the podcast’s Instagram account, sparking some debate among fans in the comments. One user writes, “Ice Cube is still relevant, so there’s your answer.” Another commenter says, “Hell no he is not better [than] Nas stoppppp it.” “It just depends ice cube and Nas. They have 2 different styles,” another user claims.
DJ Self isn’t the only person to sing the praises of Ice Cube as of late. In March, comedian Kevin Hart appeared on Logan Paul’s Impaulsive podcast and discussed his feelings on the rapper. “Cube might be one of the most genuine, kindest spirits that you can be around,” he said. The comedian went on, “He wants nothing but good for other people. He loves to see the people around him succeed- he’s such a creative mind.” Hart claims, “That’s all he does,” saying, “He loves the foundation of creativity.” He calls Ice Cube, “One of the most professional people [he’s] worked with on set.”

DJ Self Prefers Ice Cube
Ice Cube shared his thoughts on the state of America in February, calling it “uneasy.” In an interview with Wall Street‘s Maria Bartiromo, he said the goal of his BIG3 basketball league is to make U.S. cities “A little better than [they] found them.” He continued, saying, “Everybody got to do their part. The BIG3, we’re going from city to city this year.” Ice Cube went on to say, “Everybody’s got to look in the mirror and say, ‘What can I do to make things better?’”
In March, DJ Self also discussed his relationship with former Love & Hip Hop costar Cardi B in an interview with My Expert Opinion. He was asked if he felt as if he had discover the “WAP” rapper, to which he replied, “that’s a strong word.” The DJ went on to say, “You can’t discover something that is there.” He did, however, claim that he “put the magnifying glass on her.” Adding, “I put her on television. I didn’t put her in a record deal.” The two starred alongside each other on the series Love & Hip Hop, which followed Cardi B’s journey out of stripping and into a lucrative career.
