DJ Cassidy Announces “Pass The Mic” Tour With Ashanti, Fabolous, Lil Kim, Ma$e, & More

DJ Cassidy will be embarking on the Pass The Mic tour in May. He’ll be bringing along Ashanti, Fabolous, Lil Kim, Ma$e, and more. The inaugural concert will go down on Friday, May 12 at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey. Afterward, DJ Cassidy will be putting on a series of one-night-only events throughout the year. Other performers include Ne-Yo, Robin Thicke, as well as 112, and others.

“I am overwhelmed with excitement and emotion as I announce the first in a series of one-night-only ‘Pass The Mic Live!’ events,” DJ Cassidy said in a press release obtained by VIBE. “Transforming a show that began in my living room into a live arena concert is simply surreal. I am so honored to be uniting yet another iconic list of my musical heroes, this time live on stage, and I am so grateful for the Black Promoters Collective, whose grand vision, foresight, and experience, is my guiding light.”

“DJ Cassidy is a shining light in pop culture. And we are honored to partner with him on what is sure to be one of the most epic tours of the year,” the president of the Black Promoters Collective, Shelby Joyner said. Cassidy also shared a flyer for the event on Instagram. In the caption of the post, he further said: “I would have never imagined my little living room pandemic-era show transforming into a live arena concert, and here we are… the first in a series of one-night-only events, each with one-night-only lineups.”

With his Instagram series, Pass The Mic, Cassidy has previously worked with a number of high-profile artists. They include Run DMC, LL Cool J, Public Enemy, Rakim, Big Daddy Kane, Salt-N-Pepa, Missy Elliott, Ice Cube, Method Man, Busta Rhymes, Wyclef Jean, Nelly, Fat Joe, Sean Paul, as well as Shaggy, and more.
