Deshaun Watson Sends Message To His Doubters

Deshaun Watson’s debut with the Cleveland Browns was rather forgetful. However, the Browns quarterback did have more than football to deal with. Watson has been accused of sexually abusing multiple women during his time with the Houston Texans. The alleged abuse was between Watson and over 20 different masseuses. The alleged incidents forced the NFL to suspend Watson for only eleven games last season. Add those eleven games to the full season Watson missed a year prior, and the former Clemson QB was out of action for a very long time.

Watson’s return last year showed that the former Heisman Trophy winner was more than rusty. The first-year Browns QB appeared in six games, throwing just seven touchdowns. Many believe the Browns decision to bring Watson in may be one of the biggest mistakes in league history. However, that isn’t even something Watson is currently thinking about. In his appearance with the media on Tuesday, Watson was asked about those who doubt that he can still play the game at a high level.

Deshaun Watson Isn’t Worried About The Doubters

“I don’t say anything. That’s their own opinions. I know who I am. This organization knows who I am. At the end of the day, I have the opportunity to prove (myself).” Watson told the media that he has no opinion on what the doubters say. Mentioning that only he can prove that he still has what it takes to be successful. However, the Browns and Watson have to be feeling the pressure. At the time of Watson’s arrival in Cleveland, he was the highest-paid player in the NFL.

However, the accusations against Watson shouldn’t be forgotten. Every person who claims to be a victim of these alleged crimes should be heard and respected for what they are saying. There is no place for sexual assault in this world. Because Watson is a famous athlete, doesn’t mean he should get a free pass. However, not a lot is being said on the issue as time continues to pass. Watson’s legal issues are still heavily involved in his personal life. However, one day the truth shall be told to all.
