Renowned Civil Rights Attorney Ben Crump has offered his endorsement of Vice President Kamala Harris for President of the United States.
Crump released a statement:
“Today, I am proud to endorse my friend and a fierce advocate for the American people, Vice President Kamala Harris, for President of the United States. Her lifelong commitment to justice, equality, and the betterment of our nation and its people is exactly what we need in these challenging and divisive times. She is a unifier, and she will unify a diverse Democratic Party and a divided nation. And, given the tremendous response her candidacy has already generated, with a huge outpouring of financial and volunteer support, she is an energizer, who will lift Democrats to victory.
“I applaud and thank President Biden for his remarkable five decades of public service and his heroic decision to put country and democracy ahead of himself.
“This is my third endorsement of Vice President Harris to date – I previously endorsed her for President in 2019 and then again to be President Biden’s choice for Vice President. Her extensive capabilities have only grown since then.
“With her experience as a prosecutor, Attorney General of California, and now as Vice President, Vice President Harris has consistently demonstrated her ability to lead with strength, integrity, compassion, and determination while holding wrongdoers accountable. She was the first national elected official to call and offer support to the family of Breonna Taylor, and she attended the funerals of Tyre Nichols in Memphis and all the victims of the Tops supermarket massacre in Buffalo.
“I have personally witnessed her strength and leadership, taking a stand for communities fighting injustices like banking and health care discrimination and environmental racism.
“As a civil rights lawyer, I understand the urgent need to dissect the most pressing and menacing issues of the day. No one is better equipped to prosecute the dangerous policies espoused in Project 2025 than Vice President Kamala Harris. I hope all Americans who care about the future of our free republic will join me in enthusiastically supporting Kamala Harris for President.”
Vice President Kamala Harris delivered her first statement after President Biden withdrew from the 2024 presidential race and delivered a ringing endorsement of his partner.
In a statement shared by the Biden campaign, Harris saluted Biden for “selfless and patriotic” decision.
“On behalf of the American people, I thank Joe Biden for his extraordinary leadership as President of the United States and for his decades of service to our country,” Harris opened. “His remarkable legacy of accomplishment is unmatched in modern American history, surpassing the legacy of many Presidents who have served two terms in office.”
“It is a profound honor to serve as his Vice President, and I am deeply grateful to the President, Dr. Biden, and the entire Biden family. I first came to know President Biden through his son Beau. We were friends from our days working together as Attorneys General of our home states. As we worked together, Beau would tell me stories about his Dad. The kind of father—and the kind of man—he was. And the qualities Beau revered in his father are the same qualities, the same values, I have seen every single day in Joe’s leadership as President: His honesty and integrity. His big heart and commitment to his faith and his family. And his love of our country and the American people.
“With this selfless and patriotic act, President Biden is doing what he has done throughout his life of service: putting the American people and our country above everything else.
“I am honored to have the President’s endorsement and my intention is to earn and win this nomination. Over the past year, I have traveled across the country, talking with Americans about the clear choice in this momentous election. And that is what I will continue to do in the days and weeks ahead. I will do everything in my power to unite the Democratic Party — and unite our nation — to defeat Donald Trump and his extreme Project 2025 agenda.”
She closed, writing, “We have 107 days until Election Day. Together, we will fight. And together, we will win.”
