The couple had been officially dating since November 2022 and became engaged on New Year’s Eve. However, Cher cited the sizeable age gap as the primary reason for calling off the wedding.
However, sources that spoke to various gossip outlets also pointed to a level of skepticism about Edwards’ intentions that was growing within Cher. “Cher’s starting to see Alexander in a different light,” one source told Radar Online. On May 20, Cher turned 77. Furthermore, sources appeared to imply to The Daily Mail that she that her thoughts were still with Edwards. ‘She actually really cares about AE, and now that she’s closer to her kids, she wants more stability in her life,” one person told the British newspaper. Cher has been twice married, most recently to Sonny Bono, who died in 1998. Meanwhile, Edwards has a son with Amber Rose, a model, and ex of Ye. It’s unclear how long Cher and Edwards were dating before going public in November.
