If you’re a millennial and need a reason to act like a big kid, then you’ll love the new teaser trailer for Disney+ and Marvel Animation’s X-Men ‘97.
The series, expected to be ten episodes, begins streaming on none other than Disney+ on March 20/ Fans can expect a nostalgic, retro feel with its signature animation, and check this: the voice acting may sound a bit like the original actors, and that’s all by design.
As reported by Shadow and Act, story-wise, the show restarts right where the “original series left off, right after Professor X dies and leaves the X-Men to continue his legacy.”
The official description reads, “X-Men’97 revisits the iconic era of the 1990s as The X-Men, a band of mutants who use their uncanny gifts to protect a world that hates and fears them, are challenged like never before, forced to face a dangerous and unexpected new future.”
Voice actors are billed as follows: Ray Chase as Cyclops, Jennifer Hale as Jean Grey, Alison Sealy-Smith as Storm, Cal Dodd as Wolverine, JP Karliak as Morph, Lenore Zann as Rogue, George Buza as Beast, AJ LoCascio as Gambit, Holly Chou as Jubilee, Isaac Robinson-Smith as Bishop, Matthew Waterson as Magneto and Adrian Hough as Nightcrawler.
The series head writer is Beau DeMayo, and the episodes are directed by Jake Castorena, Chase Conley, and Emi Yonemura. The music is led by The Newton Brothers. Serving as executive producers are DeMayo, Brad Winderbaum, Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, and Victoria Alonso.
