Jamila Woods Concert 2020
Philip Cosores

In 2023, Jamila Woods released her long-anticipated album, Water Made Us. The “Boomerang” singer bounced back without skipping a beat as if she hadn’t stepped away for nearly four years. But Woods didn’t stop there. Before the year ended, Woods took to her official Instagram page to announce the supporting tour.

Yesterday (February 1), the tour launched in Seattle, Washington. Despite the shake-up in the tour’s supporting acts, the concert kicked off without incident. As Woods performs her way around the US before taking over Europe, fans are desperate to know which of her beloved tracks have made her final setlist for the Water Made Us Tour.

Thanks to attendees, we now know and want to share it with you. View the setlist below according to Setlist.fm.

Jamila Woods Announces Her 2024 Tour Dates With An NSFW ‘Practice’ Video Featuring Saba

Jamila Woods’ third album Water Made Us is coming out this Friday, but before its release, she has one more video to share. This one is for “Practice” featuring Saba, an uptempo dance-pop song with a chorus inspired by Allen Iverson’s famous press conference rant. The video is borderline NSFW, opening with a nude Woods singing the first verse as a conversation between her hands before displaying a variety of different body parts in closeup accompanied by numerous hands all forming different faces.

In addition to the latest Water Made Us single, Woods also shared her tour dates for 2024. The Water Made Us Tour kicks off February 1 in Seattle and runs through April 30 in Copenhagen. You can see the full schedule below and get more info here.

Jamila Woods’ Mesmerizing ‘Boomerang’ Video Tells A Love Story Shot In Reverse

Jamila Woods is back with a new song, “Boomerang,” ahead of her next album, Water Made Us. Co-written by Woods, Nao, Grades, and George Moore, the track is propelled by a hypnotizing synth instrumental.

“I’m giving you it all or nothing at all / I’m waiting for your call and hoping you fall for me,” she adds a romantic spin to the lyrics.

“I think you really wanna dance with me / How could you really wanna dance with me? / Do you really wanna dance?” Woods then continues to ask, doubling as a question for both the lover and listener.

She leans into the free-spirited and fun aspects of the song in the music video, which is played in reverse, as she goes from a laundromat to a glamorous costume in a bar. By the end, she is performing front and center on a stage.

In a statement, Woods revealed “about that kind of relationship that keeps popping back up throughout your life, that magnetic attachment you have to someone and the excitement and anxiety that comes with wondering ‘will we or won’t we?’”

“We shot it entirely in reverse at the Chicago Magic Lounge, which is known for its portals and hidden rooms,” she added about the video. “The incredible burlesque artist Po Chop directed the movement and helped me learn all the choreo forwards and backwards, quite literally.”

Jamila Woods Announces Her New Album, ‘Water Made Us,’ With The Subtle Video For ‘Tiny Garden’

Four years removed from the release of her critically-hailed 2019 album Legacy! Legacy!, Jamila Woods has returned to announce its follow-up, Water Made Us, with the first video from the new album, “Tiny Garden.” The song, produced with Wynne Bennet and featuring Duendita, is described by Woods in the press release as “a song about the way my heart works, the slow and steady way I love.”

She also directed the video, her first time doing so, saying of her debut, “I wanted to create a visual representation of how I often feel in relationships — like I’m having huge feelings that I end up expressing in small specific ways.” “Tiny Garden” opens with a subtle, bubbly instrumental and flourishes into a full-bodied heartbeat — just like the sort of relationship being described in the lyrics.

Woods said of the upcoming album, “Water Made Us feels like the most personal and vulnerable piece of art I’ve ever made. I love creating from source material, diving deep into a subject, and extrapolating from what I discover… I hope it feels like a playlist that carries you through the life cycle of a relationship, whatever stage of the journey your heart may be in.”

Since her last album, Woods has released a slew of singles, including a cover of Tracy Chapman’s “Fast Car” and “WYD” with Peter CottonTale.
