Polo G & DaBaby Flaunt Their “Party Lyfe” In “Hall Of Fame” Visual

As Hall of Fame continues to receive applause from Hip Hop fans, Polo G adds to the hype around his recently released record with another visual. The album is stacked with features that include looks from Lil Wayne, Nicki Minaj, Young Thug, Rod Wave, Roddy Ricch, and DaBaby—the latter of which assisted Polo G on “Party Lyfe.”

The pair of rappers surfaced on Wednesday (June 16) with the music video to their collaboration and they stayed true to the track’s title. If there’s anyone who knows how to get a party started it’s music artists, especially rappers, and the visual shows Polo G and DaBaby surrounded by half-naked models as they toast to the good life.

Director ARRAD, who also was responsible for helming the visual for “RAPSTAR,” reunited with Polo G for this one, as well. If you haven’t already, make sure to stream Hall of Fame in its entirety after checking out what Polo and DaBaby have to offer above.

Guapdad 4000 Reviews The Best Asian Snacks

Filipino-American rapper Guapdad 4000 is helping us revitalize our Snack Review video series by adding a new twist. It’s been a few months since the last time we did one of these — shout out to the pandemic — but we’re officially back and rolling on one of your favorite food-meets-rap content series around. The Bay Area-based recording artist reviewed a bunch of his favorite Asian snacks, giving his honest thoughts on each one as we diversify our palettes.

Munching on mostly Filipino snacks, Guapdad 4000 started off with a few foods that he wasn’t necessarily vibing with, giving them mid-range scores. Once he got to the spicy prawn crackers and fruit daifuku though, he was instantly in heaven. Some of the snacks, like Boy Bawang, brought him back to simpler times. Others, like Irvins Spicy Salted Egg Chips were deemed lowkey “nasty” from the rapper… before the spice hit. Once he caught the heat, his opinion changed. “That’s gonna make me like them,” he complained.

Check out the Snack Review revival above and let us know if you’ll be picking up one of these snacks for your next munchies session. Personally, I’m curious about the ube pandesal, which Guapdad rated a 9/10.

EarthGang, Wale & Coi Leray Turn Up Together In The “Options Remix” Video

Back in April of last year, Wale teased an upcoming track. At the very end of the year, EarthGang and Wale finally unleashed the collab “Options,” which is set to appear on their forthcoming project Ghetto Gods. They followed up the hit with a remix featuring newly-crowned XXL Freshman Coi Leray in late May.

EarthGang has released an official visual for the collaboration alongside Coi and Wale. In the video, the four rappers turn up together in a house party thrown by the Dreamville artists. Speaking about their forthcoming release Ghetto Gods, the duo explained on Twitter, “Ghetto Gods Is about finding the God in you. It doesn’t matter if your from the Ghetto or not. We all have the light in us. Elevate and let it shine.”

“[It] is some of our best work so far and we’re going to give it to you the right way,” they added. While they originally wanted to drop the same day Dreamville head honcho J. Cole unleashed his project The Off-Season, they ultimately chose not to. The move, which was inspired by Cole dropping the same day as Kanye back in 2013, would likely have overshadowed the upcoming project.

YG, Mozzy & Ty Dolla $ign Throw A Pool Party In “Vibe With You” Music Video

You know when Ty Dolla $ign is on the hook, it’s going to be a smash hit. This summer, it looks like the Ty Dolla $ign-assisted single, “Vibe With You” from YG and Mozzy’s Kommunity Service could very well be holding us down in the months to come. Today, YG and Mozzy came through with the official music video for the record. The video opens up with YG and Mozzy driving next to a California beach in old school cars before they end up linking up with Ty Dolla $ign at a beach party surrounded by beautiful women.

YG and Mozzy’s Kommunity Service dropped last month and also includes features from G Herbo, Young M.A, A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie, Tyga. and more. Peep the video for “Vibe With You” above.

Polo G Stands With The People In “Painting Pictures”

Upon its release, Polo G’s Hall Of Fame became one of the year’s biggest hip-hop albums, surpassing Migos’ Culture III and holding it down on the top of the Billboard charts. Today, the Chicago rapper has opted to apply further pressure, coming through with some new visuals for “Painting Pictures,” an emotional highlight from the expansive project.

Shortly after delivering a video for the Lil Durk and Kid LAROI-assisted “No Return,” Polo’s latest clip is far more raw, unsurprising given the subject matter. Directed by Ryan Lynch, Polo returns to the hood to bring things full circle, proving that he remains a beloved figure in his community. Unsurprising, given that he’s literally handing out money to an adoring group of children, leading by example and showing the benefits of hard work and dedication.

Given that it’s Polo G we’re talking about, even the triumphant moments are undercut by his lingering trauma; you can see it in his eyes and body language, particularly evident in the clip’s quieter moments. For the most part, however, “Painting Pictures” is a largely inspirational affair, its celebratory tone creating an interesting juxtaposition with the track’s lyrical content. Check it out for yourself now, and sound off if you’ve got Hall Of Fame on steady rotation.

Polo G, Lil Durk, & The Kid LAROI Connect For “No Return”

Polo G’s recent voyage to the top of the Billboard album charts, surpassing Migos and Culture 3 in the process, should go a long way in establishing his superstar status. With Hall Of Fame, Polo’s third studio album, currently resonating with the masses, the rapper opted to keep the momentum moving with a video from the project.

Landing on the Lil Durk and The Kid LAROI-assisted “No Return,” perhaps unsurprising given the firepower involved, Polo showcases a major budget increase with this latest Grade A Films production. Featuring a variety of different locales — from a boss’ opulent office to an actual trench to a meth-lab in which several scantily clad employees punch the clock — Polo and his compatriots deliver passionate performances of the introspective collab while a loose narrative plays out in between.

It’s impressive to see how commanding a presence Polo G has become since his introduction to the game, and “No Return” finds him navigating in a new bracket of stardom with little effort. It will certainly be interesting to see what he chooses for his next Hall Of Fame single, as it wouldn’t be surprising to see him continue to take his videos to the next level.

Migos Link Up With Popcaan In Jamaica For “Why Not” Music Video

Migos are back in action. The ATL trio arrived with their latest body of work, Culture III — the final installment in the trilogy — on Friday. Fans have been more than excited to hear new music from Migos but this body of work, in particular, felt like a triumphant return after claims that they had fallen off.

The crew have been slowly unveiling new visuals off of the project since “Avalanche” last week. They swiftly followed it up with “Modern Day” and now, they’ve returned with the music video for “Why Not.” The group maintains a similar aesthetic to both “Modern Day” and “Straightenin” with a mixture of grainy, candid shots and high-quality performance clips. This one shows Migos on the beaches of Jamaica where they’re riding around on 4-wheelers. The video also includes a cameo from Popcaan who is spotted along with Takeoff and Quavo among a group of people turning up.

OBN Jay Reveals His Favorite Weed Strains On “How To Roll”

We’re back with another one. How To Roll has been one of our most popular video series for years and today, we’ve got a new episode with Baton Rouge, Louisiana-based rapper OBN Jay, who stopped by to unpack his smoking preferences, his favorite strains, and much more.

The “Big Ole” rapper went the classic route, picking out a pack of Backwoods and getting started on his rolling process. Smoking on Rainbow Sky from Cookies, OBN Jay revealed that his two favorite strains are likely Skittles and Gushers. Clearly, he’s got a sweet tooth that extends to his smoke sesh. “They’re sweet and they’re indicas,” he said, explaining why he likes them the most. As for what you won’t catch him smoking, Jay says he isn’t a fan of OG strains. “That shit make you go to sleep,” he said.

OBN Jay started smoking regularly in middle school, telling us that it helped him cope with family issues. “I wasn’t smoking much at all,” he admitted, saying that he often hung around older kids who were smoking weed, asking for puffs here and there.

Cordae & Young Thug Hit A Fight Club In “Wassup” Video

Cordae may have positioned himself as a lover, not a fighter — but that doesn’t mean the lyricist won’t dabble in the latter category if provoked. Evidently, a spooky and tense instrumental from Take A Daytrip has taken the generally peaceful Cordae’s aggression meter to ten, culminating in a raw new video from the acclaimed lyricist.

Directed by Matt Earl and shot by Franklin Ricart, the clip finds Cordae and Thugger entering an underground fight club. Unsurprisingly, the rappers command attention through detached swagger and confidence, and before long Cordae is entering the ring. Despite the fact that his opponents clearly outweigh — not to mention out-aggro — the young rapper, Cordae’s technique and shifty footwork make him a constant threat.

To his credit, Thugger doesn’t opt to participate in the bloodsport, but his stylish attire and slick video-game-character aesthetic keep him in line with the ruffians. Visually, the whole of “Wassup” is extremely well constructed, featuring some of the tightest editing (also handled by director Matt Earl) we’ve seen in a music video this year. Though it might be difficult for some to buy into Cordae’s tough-guy persona, the rapper sells it with enough conviction to make haters second-guess saying such criticism to his face.

Check out “Wassup” now, and stay tuned for Cordae’s upcoming album From A Bird’s Eye View, set to arrive at some point later this year.

Erica Banks Explains Why She Always Keeps A Bottle Of Hennessy In Her Bag

Texas-based rapper Erica Banks has had herself an incredible year, breaking out into the rap world as one of the most exciting up-and-coming women in the game. With flows for days, the 22-year-old rising star has officially gotten her first gold plaque, revealing last week that her breakout single “Buss It” had sold over 500,000 copies. She’s presently trying to recreate the viral success of the Nelly-sampling track with her latest single “Toot That,” which is another twerk anthem that could potentially blow up on social media.

As she continues to elevate in the music industry, Erica Banks opened up with us and emptied out the contents of her Louis Vuitton bag, showing what she carries around with her at all times.

The first item that she pulled out was a bottle of Hennessy. Cognac appears to have a special effect on Erica Banks, putting her in that zone and allowing her to feel more confident when she’s recording. “My friend right here turns me up, gives me the life of the party vibes, it wakes me up, in the studio it keeps me going and it allows me to have a good time,” she said about Henny.

Elsewhere in her bag, she keeps a bonnet, a flat iron for when the bonnet comes off, an iced-out watch, and a hairbrush.
