Curren$y Has Stories For Days About Lil Wayne, His Favorite 4/20 Experience, & More On “How To Roll”

The third and final instalment of Curren$y’s latest appearance on How To Roll has arrived.

One of the most popular “weed rappers,” it was about time for Curren$y Spitta to come through for another episode of How To Roll, hitting us with a three-parter and giving us plenty of anecdotes along the way. The first two parts of his weed-focused interview are already live and today, we bring you the final section from this go-around, in which Spitta Andretti explains how Lil Wayne and the Cash Money crew introduced him to exotic marijuana, his favorite 4/20 experience, and much more.

Speaking ill on Blue Dream and regretting some of his prior lyrics about the strain, Curren$y started the episode by speaking about his introduction to Za, revealing that his first tour with Lil Wayne helped him get familiar with the best weed available. He also touches on his favorite holiday, 4/20, and how he initially didn’t want to be labeled a “weed rapper.” At a certain point though, he realized that he could get a bag every single year on 4/20 just for living his life, performing his songs, and smoking his trees.

Tyler, The Creator Shows Off His $500K Chain In “LEMONADE” Video

Bunny Hop returns with yet another music video from his new album Call Me If You Get Lost. The #1-charting album from Tyler, The Creator and DJ Drama has had more than a couple of music videos to complement Tyler’s vision, including “CORSO” and “JUGGERNAUT.” The latest track to receive a fresh set of visuals is “LEMONADE,” which sees Tyler (directed by his alter ego Wolf Haley) directing a tuba player before hopping into a boat and sailing through… the grass.

The strange video falls directly in line with Tyler’s vision for this album, keeping the visuals consistent throughout. Wearing a pink outfit with his $500,000 bellhop chain, the rapper showed off his diamonds after his “Waterfalls” lyric, giving the world a good view of his latest piece.

The new video clocks in at under two minutes, featuring only Tyler’s verse from the song. 42 Dugg, who is featured on the album version, does not appear in the clip.

Lil Wayne & Moneybagg Yo Hop On LPB Poody’s Viral “Batman”

LPB Poody’s “Batman” has already been a major hit since February, thanks to countless TikTok’s, but the song itself just got a thousand times better. It’s the remix, baby! With Lil Wayne and Moneybagg Yo getting in on the action, this track is probably about to be in rotation even longer.

Through neon-lit rooms and dark alleyways, Weezy strolls around with a double cup to kick off the track and goes off for a ballistic feature, adding one more to his lengthy run of verses this year. The way this guy has adapted himself to rap over any beat through the years is absolutely unrivaled, and this is yet another prime example. He’s even wearing an Illegal Civilization sweater in half of these shots; talk about staying in the know.

In all seriousness, just examine this rhyme scheme then try and say he didn’t outdo himself: “And all my slimers be slimin’, we wipe his nostrils, he snotty / I swear that shotty like sinus and that Bugatti like Sonic / The hedgehog, how I sped off / Drop the top and take the head off / Pick a bitch up, drop some bread off.” At times, it’s as if the Wayne of 2007 hasn’t aged a day.

On the other end of Poody’s sandwiching verse, Moneybagg Yo dons a tee out of Amiri and Playboy collab with a blinding watch on his wrist. He spits a solid sixteen on top of it, but it won’t be what this remix is remembered for.

Yung Bleu, Chris Brown, & 2 Chainz Drop “Baddest” Video

Yung Bleu has been doing a lot of things right throughout his young career, to the point where the melodist has already landed several high-profile features — including the combination of Chris Brown and 2 Chainz, who came through to bless his single “Baddest.” Now, the star-studded track has officially received the video treatment, arriving by way of a loosely narrative-driven clip directed by Edgar Esteves.

As Bleu navigates a block party looking for love, or something along those lines perhaps, Chris Brown prefers to operate under a full moon. For the majority of his section, Breezy holds it down with a lively performance of his verse delivered from the comforts of his balcony. His loss really, as Bleu appears to be having the time of his life by day– though to his credit, Breezy does manage to make his way down for before the shindig wraps.

2 Chainz is also present hold it down alongside Bleu, spitting some bars as he catches up with a few ladies and puffs a blunt for good measure. Though his promiscuous bars might offend those of a delicate sensibility, at this particular block party, it would appear that all bets are off. It’s no wonder the video kicks off with two elderly gentlemen stepping up to attend no matter to consequence. Check it out for yourself, and look for Yung Bleu to line up his new album Moon Boy on July 23rd.

Sean Kingston & G Herbo Connect In The “Darkest Times” Visual

Sean Kingston returned to music back in May when he released his single “Darkest Times” with assistance from Chicago-bred emcee G Herbo. He’s previously boasted that the upcoming project is his best work yet, explaining in an interview with HotNewHipHop that “I had a talk with God and the time is now. I have a new deal with Empire and we ready to go, full force.”

Ahead of the release of Deliverance, Kingston debuted the visual for “Darkest Times” alongside G Herbo. The Daniel Centrone-directed video is a direct visual translation of the song’s lyrical content. “This video is one the most somber I’ve done, it represents a dark place and seeing the light at the end of the tunnel,” Kingston shared with Complex.

Explaining why he selected G Herbo for the track, Kingston said, “Real recognize real. Good friends are better that pocket money. Proof is in the process. And it was such an amazing experience watching G. Herbo do his thing.”

Of his upcoming studio album, which will be released via a new deal with EMPIRE, Kingstons shared “I’m excited to have a place to call home and that’s EMPIRE. My new upcoming album, is a rebirth, it’s a whole new musical chapter for my career.”

City Girls Drop The Missy Elliot-Directed “Twerkulator” Visual

City Girls experienced viral success with their latest single “Twerkulator” long before the track was cleared for release by the group’s label. Creators on TikTok developed the “Twerkulator” dance, pushing the Miami duo to finally release the incredibly popular track. Since its May 2021 release, the song, which has been dubbed the “song of the summer,” has peaked at No. 51 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, earning the duo their highest-charting single to date.

The colorful visual features the rappers in different twerk-centered themes throughout, including one where they appear as the hands on a clock. In addition to including the iconic Twerkulator dance choreography, Sean Bankhead provided additional support, while Derek Blanks served as the creative director.

Elsewhere for the Miami stars, they recently delivered a cunning performance of the hit at the 2021 BET Awards. They also graced the cover of i-D Magazine in June. Check out the brand new “Twerkulator” visual above and let us know what you think.

Curren$y Details The Hospital Visit That Turned Him Off Of Blunts On “How To Roll”

There are few stoners in the world that are as prolific as Spitta Andretti, better known as Curren$y. The New Orleans rapper created his own cannabis-centric lane during the blog era that’s cultivated a cult-like following. These days, he owns a cannabis company and continues to shift hip-hop and cannabis culture forward.

While Backwoods are still prevalent in rap culture, Wiz Khalifa and Curren$y are largely responsible for the resurgence of rolling papers in the past decade. During part two of his episode of How To Roll, Curren$y detailed a visit to urgent care that ultimately ended his run with blunts. The rapper explained that he believed he had throat cancer but the doctor told him it was strep throat. “Went to the doctor and she’s like, ‘it’s strep throat and it’s only because your smoking some harsh things,'” he recalled. He said that doctor advised him that all he needed to do was roll his weed with something other than tobacco.

Spitta explained there were multiple benefits to transitioning to rolling papers, outside of the obvious implications blunts have had on his health. “That shit made everything work because I had something else to rap about in my music. It added another level to my music of shit that wasn’t already around and it created a subculture,” he said. “It helped because that’s really what you want to do. You want to normalize things, make shit cool. Muhfuckas always probably wanted to smoke those joints but they wanted to smoke blunts because that’s what the songs were about.”

“Now, I’m like, look, smoke a joint. Now, these kids are in better shape,” he continued. “These kids were in better shape than we were, listening to them talk about fuckin’ smokin’ a blunt. And we’re smoking blunts, [like], ‘I don’t know, man. My back hurts. I don’t want to study.’ … We just became trash bags and then these other kids are smokin’ joints and they fuckin’ settin’ up studios on their laptops and making millions of dollars and changing their parents’ lives. Credit me for that, you know what I’m sayin’.”

Elsewhere in the interview, Spitta shared a hilarious story about the first time he had high sex. He explained that he had a homegirl that friendzoned him because of how annoying he would get when he was high. However, after finally telling him that he got on his nerves, Spitta adjusted his stoned behavior and successfully shot his shot. However, his first time having sex when he was stoned became partially overwhelming.

“Then when we started fuckin’, there were times where I didn’t exactly know who it was. Like, I was in my mind — like, I’m going to town, physically there and then in my mind, like, ‘Who am I behind? Who the fuck is this?'” Spitta said. “It’s just because my mind was trying to grasp, like, you are high, bruh. That was my first time being high so I’m like trying to be high and I’m trying to fuck and I’m watching TV. It’s just a lot. So, I didn’t even know who she was at certain points.”

Kenny Mason Explains Why He Went Vegan During The Pandemic

Atlanta rapper Kenny Mason rated his favorite vegan snacks this week on the latest episode of Snack Review, coming through with a special episode for all of our plant-based readers. Despite only being vegan for a year, the Angelic Hoodrat rapper knows that his dietary choices will pay off in the long-term as he focuses on his health, explaining in the second part of his food-centered interview that he went vegan to be kinder to his body.

“I went on some health shit, just trying to figure out how to protect myself against the virus and how to get my body right if I did catch it and n***as was just like, meat and shit is bad for you,” he said. “And I ain’t one of them vegans that tries to tell everyone to stop, I just do that shit for me because it makes me feel good.”

Kenny reveals that before committing to a plant-based diet full-time, he took one or two days out of the week to eat a meat-free, dairy-free diet.

During the same interview, the rapper also tells us his favorite vegan restaurants in Atlanta before telling all of the non-vegan listeners some important advice about buying wings from a mainstream restaurant. “You cannot get wings from a mainstream restaurant. When you go in the wing restaurant, they gotta be rude to you,” he joked. “If they’re not rude to you, they’re shit. They’ve gotta be rude. If they’re not rude, the wings not fire.”

Kenny also told us the worst food he’s ever eaten in his life, calling out a Vegan brand that starts with the letter “D” (if you know… you know) that specializes in cheese.

Kenny Mason Rates The Best Vegan Treats On “Snack Review”

Plant-based diets seem to be pretty trendy right now, but it’s definitely the way to go if you care about your long-term health and well-being. A plant-based diet has been proven by doctors and nutritionists to reduce the risk of heart disease, brain disease, and so many of the other leading causes of death in America by an incredible percentage. If you know, you know.

Atlanta rapper Kenny Mason has seemingly adopted a vegan lifestyle, eating plant-based and helping similarly-minded folks find the best snacks on the market. If you’re vegan, you already know how much of a pain in the neck it can be to find tasty alternatives to some of your favorite snacks. While it may be easier to find vegan goodies in Los Angeles, New York, and other major cities across the country, it’s still pretty rough to find suitable munchies in other cities that aren’t harmful to animals or the environment. Kenny Mason, the Angelic Hoodrat himself, came through to rate some of his pick-ups from a corner store in LA.

Sitting on his balcony overlooking the Hollywood sign, the 26-year-old artist tried out a few plant-based treats for the latest episode of Snack Review, chowing down on pigless pork rinds (which were his favorite!), flavored broccoli bites, a CBD-infused kombucha, mushroom jerky (which he clearly wasn’t a fan of), and much more. If you’ve been on the lookout for new snack foods to diversify your palate, or if you’ve been struggling to find vegan snack alternatives, watch the new episode of Snack Review above and stay tuned for the second part of Kenny’s interview in the coming days.
