ODESZA Unveil Part Two Of Their Massive ECHOES Buildout With SETUP & Snapdragon

With just a few days left before ODESZA’s monumental closeout of their The Last Goodbye tour at the Gorge, the prolific electronic duo and their collaborators are racing against time to bring the immersive installation they’ve named ECHOES to their fans.

Earlier this month, we saw the duo teaming with SETUP and Snapdragon to plan this monumental project for July 4, 5, and 6 at the Gorge. This installation will be the duo’s most technically ambitious project to date, paying homage to their groundbreaking career, the community they’ve built, and showcasing their unrelenting commitment to technology and jaw-dropping visuals.

The first video, “The Journey Begins,” shows the duo working out how their recursive design and themes with Jenny Feter, Creative Director of the project, and the team from SETUP will come to life, in collaboration with the groundbreaking speed and efficiency of a Snapdragon-powered PC.

“I think it’s going to be really cool, I haven’t seen anyone do something like this,” ODESZA’s Harrison Mills notes. “It’s going to be really special.”

Out today, the second episode (above) shows the duo working tirelessly with the Snapdragon and SETUP teams across multiple time zones in Berlin, New York, Australia, Chicago, and California to bring the once-in-a-lifetime installation to the fans to bridge ODESZA’s special moments and music together to close out with a bang.

With the support of Snapdragon, the team has taken on the impossible. Stay tuned to see the incredible end result.

The Journey Begins For ODESZA’s Monumental Farewell At The Gorge

As ODESZA begins saying goodbye to their fans, the prolific electronic duo is going out with a bang by taking things back to where they started.

To close out their final tour for the foreseeable future, ODESZA has teamed up with SETUP and Snapdragon to create a monumental immersive visual installation for the last three shows of The Last Goodbye Tour.

“The Echoes” installation will come to life at a venue near and dear to their hearts in their home state: the Gorge Amphitheater.

“The Echoes” activation is set to be one of ODESZA’s most technically ambitious projects to date, paying homage to the duo’s groundbreaking career, the community they’ve built, and showcasing their unrelenting commitment to technology and jaw-dropping visuals.

To tell the story of this epic endeavor in real time, Uproxx Studios is teaming with ODESZA, SETUP, and Snapdragon to release a four-part series. The first video (above) shows the duo working out how their recursive design and themes in their music influenced their title for the structure and the start of how these ideas are going to come to life, powered by the groundbreaking speed and efficiency of Snapdragon.

From School To Touring With Prince, Mari Maupin Looks Back On ‘The Street I Grew Up On’

As the old saying goes, “The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.” It’s a cliché, yes, but it’s relevant, since that first step and the ones following it are so key. Where they took place is also crucial, whether its a childhood home, school, or anywhere else that seeds for the future were planted. That’s the focus of the latest episode of “The Street I Grew Up On,” presented by State Farm.

Mari Maupin, a product of Los Angeles, already has some stories to tell, including a significant opportunity that would make any artist green (or more appropriately, purple) with envy: touring with Prince. The way her eyes light up when she recounts that impactful period makes it clear how moving it was for Maupin (as does the Prince tattoo on her forearm). Who wouldn’t glow when reminiscing about brushing shoulders with a timeless icon?

Elsewhere in the episode, Maupin hits up her old school, looking back on how her teachers and experience fostered her creativity. Being back in the place where so many formative experiences happened, Maupin was understandably emotional.

Beyond that, Maupin also visits a longtime favorite restaurant and other meaningful places on her journey, so check out the new episode of “The Street I Grew Up On” above.
