Metro Boomin is one of the best artists in the world right now. Overall, he is one of the best artists in the world right now. Although he doesn’t rap, his production carries a lot of tracks and albums. He has the biggest artists calling his name, and he has no plans to quit, anytime soon. At this point, he could go down as a top-five producer in the history of hip-hop. Furthermore, he is producing modern-day classics that will be remembered forever.
Consequently, it should come as no surprise that he would be tapped to do a major movie soundtrack. For weeks now, he has been teasing the release of the soundtrack for Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse. This soundtrack has come with a ton of fanfare. Overall, this has to do with the fact that there are a ton of huge stars on this project. For instance, we have Offset, Future, A$AP Rocky, Lil Uzi Vert, and Lil Wayne, just to name a few.

The biggest event of the NBA season has finally arrived. The Denver Nuggets are appearing in their first NBA Finals and enter as heavy favorites behind their team depth and the power duo of Nikola Jokić and Jamal Murray. Meanwhile, the Miami Heat enter the finals with the weight of history on their shoulders. After appearing in the NBA Finals in 2020, the Heat have made the Finals as an eighth seed. The Heat are hunting for their first title since 2013.
The Finals matches a Jimmy Butler-led Heat against the Jokić-Murray-led Nuggets. It will be a test of wills, depth, and strength between the two sides. However, the Nuggets, the Western one-seed are widely expected to dominate the Heat. June 1 marked the first game of the Finals in Denver.
Nuggets Blow Out Heat
The Heat tried to keep it close in the first quarter but still trailed by nine heading into the second. However, the Nuggets kicked it into a higher gear and dominated on all aspects of the game, extending their lead to 17 at the half. With the game well in hand heading into the second half, the Nuggets continued to pile on the pain. At the end of the third, they led by 21. However, the Heat attempted a comeback in the fourth, pulling within 10 with four minutes to go. Despite this, the Nuggets persisted and cruised to a 104-93 win.
Nikola Jokić led all scorers with 27 points as part of his ninth triple-double of the playoffs, adding to his historic record. Furthermore, Jamal Murray added a double-double of his own, with 26 points and 10 assists. Two other Nuggets starters, Aaron Gordon and Michael Porter Jr., also put up double-digit points. Meanwhile, Bam Adebayo led the Heat with 26 points. However, the Heat suffered from a down performance from “Playoff Jimmy”, who put up just 13 points. The Heat will look to bounce back on Sunday.

The Weeknd has been incredibly consistent over the years. Furthermore, he has been trying out a plethora of different things. For instance, he is trying out his hand at acting with the show The Idol. Although the reviews for the show have been pretty bad, Abel is still giving it a go. Moreover, he is now in charge of the show’s soundtrack. Fans are very excited to hear the whole thing, especially with Mike Dean involved. Not to mention, he has been teasing a new track with Playboi Carti and Madonna.
This song was first teased while The Weeknd was out at the Cannes film festival. There was immediately a ton of intrigue for this song, and for very good reason. Madonna is a legend, while Carti hasn’t been heard from in a while. Lastly, The Weeknd just knows how to craft hits, and it seemed like he had another one in the making. Well, today, he dropped off the new song, and it certainly did not disappoint.
The Weeknd Continues To Shine
Metro Boomin and Mike Dean worked on the production here, so you know it’s going to sound amazing. The track has an early 2000s r&b feel to it that some say is Neptunes inspired. Overall, The Weeknd sounds fantastic here, as does Madonna. Although, Playboi Carti’s verse is very short and seems to be on a loop. Either way, it’s nice to hear them all together.
Moving forward, it will be interesting to hear the rest of this project. While the show may be polarizing, we can probably all agree that the soundtrack will be great. Quotable Lyrics:
Oh, I know what she needs (Oh) She just want the fame, I know what she fiеnds (Oh) Give her a little tastе, runnin’ back to me (Oh) Put it in her veins, pray her soul to keep, ooh, ooh Every night (Every night, uh), she prays to the sky Flashin’ lights is all she ever wants to see
Gunna is someone who has been in the spotlight quite a bit as of late. Of course, a lot of this has to do with the fact that he walked free from the YSL Rico case. Overall, many are concerned for Young Thug, and their love for the artist has Gunna in the crossfire. Many believe he snitched, and consequently, they are calling him out. Moreover, others have simply stated that they would never work with Wunna again. It’s a bad situation that the artist hasn’t exactly been able to respond to.
Well, Gunna has been teasing some new music as of late. This has certainly intrigued his fans, especially with all of the chatter about his alleged cooperation with the feds. Supporters want him to address his detractors, and overall, it looks like he is doing just that. On Friday, Gunna dropped a new song called “Bread & Butter.” With this track, the artist ditches his previous sound and swaps it out for bars. Given the circumstances, it is easy to see why he would want to do this.
Gunna Claps Back
In fact, throughout the track, he does, indeed, mention the snitching allegations. He makes it crystal clear that he never told. Furthermore, he reiterates his love for Young Thug. Moreover, he takes some thinly veiled shots at the likes of Lil Baby and Lil Durk, who have distanced themselves from Gunna in light of the Rico case. Needless to say, it is clear that the rapper has been paying attention to the things that have been said about him.
Whether or not this leads to a new album, still remains to be seen. However, it is clear that Gunna is as hungry as ever to show people the real him. Let us know what you think of the song, in the comments section below. Additionally, stay tuned to HNHH for more news and updates from around the music world.
Quotable Lyrics:
Never gave no statement or agreed to take no stand on ’em On whatever you n****s on, then trust me, I’ma stand on it Lawyers and the DA did some sneaky shit, I fell for it On my Ps and Qs because, this time, I be prepared for it, yeah
There isn’t another voice in music quite like Goodie Mob icon Cee Lo Green. From his outspoken hilarity to iconic tracks such as “F**k You,” his illustrious character has garnered him a career on the TV screen and in the studio. He was born Thomas Burton in Atlanta, the son of two Baptist ministers. Growing up in a church environment, he utilized the setting to display his vocal and performance talents on Sundays. However, his parents died when Cee Lo was still very young. By the age of 16, he was without the guidance of his family.
Cee Lo struggled in adolescence, engaging in gang activity and dropping out of school in ninth grade. Spending a period of time in military activity, he began to pour his frustration into an aspired career in music. Those aspirations would morph into a career in the hip-hop act Goodie Mob. Along with three friends, the group began honing their craft in 1991. However, Goodie Mob wasn’t anywhere the mainstream success it would morph into at this point. Cee Lo Green worked at an airport in the early 1990s to pay the rent. However, as he told REVOLT, “Me and my cousin were working at the airport and we heard ‘Player’s Ball’ on the radio, over the intercom system while we’re having lunch,” he recalled. “I said, ‘Oh sh*t!’ So, we quit the job, we left and went out to the studio.”
With Goodie Mob already being associated with OutKast, hearing “Player’s Ball” over the radio was a game-changer. It made their dreams feel real. In fact, Cee Lo met Andre 3000 back in high school. A few years later, Goodie Mob popped up through their collaboration with OutKast on “Git Up, Git Out,” their first concrete exposure on the mainstream charts. Soon after that, their debut album, in the form of 1995’s Soul Food, followed. Outside of Green, the world was introduced to Big Gipp, Khujo, and T-Mo. Most notably, their single “Cell Therapy” peaked at No. 39 on the Billboard Hot 100 while topping the Billboard Rap Singles chart.
Goodie Mob’s sound blended the worlds of The Roots and Southern hip-hop in a manner that hadn’t been done before. However, the beginnings of Cee Lo’s next step as an artist were beginning to form. During Goodie Mob’s rise to fame, Cee Lo became the standout member of the group amidst his high-octave vocals. On the sophomore album Still Standing, fans were clambering to hear more and more of Cee Lo. By the time the 1999’s World Party far missed the mark on the commercial success of Goodie Mob’s previous albums and collaborations with OutKast, Cee Lo knew it was time to move on. While the group would eventually release 2013’s Age Against the Machine and 2020’s Survival Kit, he began focusing on his solo career for the time being.
Cee Lo Green Was Pursuing A Solo Career By The 2000s
Diving even deeper into his bag as an astute vocalist, Cee Lo Green’s solo career blended R&B with the blues. He was throwing it back to the 1970s while containing hints of modern-day production tropes, carving out a sound that blended Al Green with Andre 3000. However, his solo career wouldn’t hit a newfound level of chart-topping fame until he collaborated with iconic producer Danger Mouse as Gnarls Barkley. The two released the single “Crazy” under St. Elsewhere, warranting two Grammy Awards. However, Gnarls Barkley’s vulnerable commentary surrounding suicidal thoughts and industry-induced anxiety made the overall project’s influence timeless.
Green’s first solo hit finally arrived in the form of 2010’s “F**k You.” The track’s hilarious contrast between smooth production chops and reviled lyricism made it an instant favorite, peaking at No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100. He would go on to release a PG version of the song in the form of “Forget You,” which also garnered significant numbers. Amid his commercial success, Cee Lo leveraged his musical notoriety into a newfound career in television. He became a coach on the first three seasons of The Voice and the host of the 2011 show Talking to Strangers. Since 2010’s The Lady Killer, the recently turned 48-year-old has struggled to re-create the project’s magic on the charts. However, he’s continued to release albums and make occasional film appearances over the past decade.
Snoop Dogg recently appeared on a podcast, where the rapper discussed some of his opinions on the NBA. He revealed to The Pivot Podcast who he believed to be the top 5 Los Angeles Lakers of all time. Fans quickly noticed that one important name wasn’t on his list- LeBron James.
“Let’s run it down,” Snoop began. He then told a host that his picks were listed in no particular order, telling him, “You can put ’em where you want ’em at.” “Kareem Abdul-Jabbar — formerly known as Lou Alcindor until Malcolm got ahold of ’em,” he lists. “Magic ‘Earvin’ Johnson out of East Lansing. Do you understand me? Kobe ‘Jellybean’ Bryant. Oh lord, it’s finna get hard. Shaquille ‘The Real Deal’ O’Neal,” he continued. Snoop then deliberated on who his final pick would be, saying, “It ain’t none of them new guys. They ain’t done enough.” He then shared some of his favorites, Jerry West, Michael Cooper and James Worthy, before saying, “I’ma go with Wilt The Stilt!” “He averaged 50 points a game, man,” Snoop explained, “This before cameras — he probably had 70.”
Last month, Snoop celebrated the Lakers’ win against the Memphis Grizzlies. He shared his excitement with his social media followers, even giving the LA team a new nickname. “We got United Nations over here,” he began. He added, “We got Asians, white boys, — boy, we cold!” “The Lakers got a cold squad, baby. We on it like we want it. Ay Bubba, let me hear from ya, punk. Lakers in six, punk,” his Instagram post continued.
Earlier this month, Snoop also shared with fans that he’s interested in becoming an NHL owner. “Amazing what @neko_sparks is trying to do in Ottawa & I’m looking forward to being apart of that ownership team. I WANNA BRING HOCKEY TO OUR COMMUNITY,” he wrote alongside a photo of film producer Neko Sparks next to the Ottawa Senators.
Jacky Oh, former Wild ‘N Out star and partner to DC Young Fly, has died at the age of 32. Sources told TMZ that she died yesterday, and her cause of death has not yet been confirmed. A now-deleted post on social media claimed she had been in Miami to receive a “mommy makeover.”
Her post read, “Getting ready for my mommy makeover with Dr. Zach!! Stay tuned to my … i do a lot. but being a mommy is my favorite.” Jacky Oh was the mother of DC Young Fly’s three children, daughters Nova, Nala, and Prince. DC Young Fly has not yet responded publicly to her passing.
A BET spokesperson shared a statement following the news. “We are deeply saddened by the passing of Jacklyn Smith, known to the world as Jacky Oh, a talented Wild N’ Out family member whose impact will be forever treasured and missed,” it begins. “Jacky Oh was a loving friend and beloved colleague of the Wild N’ Out cast throughout five seasons. More importantly, she was a tremendous mother to three beautiful children. The BET Media Group extends our sincere condolences to the Smith family, DC Young Fly, B Simone, Nick Cannon, and all friends who loved and cared for Jacky Oh during this difficult time.”
Fans were devastated to hear the tragic news of the young mother’s death. Although her cause of death is unknown, some fans speculate that it could be surgery complications based on her now-deleted post. One user wrote, “We women got to love us first 100% before we love anyone else. Otherwise we will end up with the most beautiful children and a husband who cherishes us but we will still look in the mirror and not appreciate ourselves. And want more and more looking to being perfect while perfect has been right in front of our eyes the whole time.”
Soulja Boy recently detailed his beef with Bow Wow during an interview, revealing that the two artists don’t hold any grudges. He laughed off the “petty” drama, claiming that they have grown up since. “Shout out to Bow Wow though, we was young,” the rapper began.
We was young and when I look back on that sh*t I’m like, ‘Man, that sh*t was so funny.’” Soulja Boy went on to explain, “We were beefing about Lamborghinis, bro. Ain’t that some rich-a*s, petty-a*s, like what? Y’all beefing about whose Lamborghini go the fastest. Who’s Lamborghini the newest, like what the f**k y’all.” He went on to reveal, “We cool, man. He hit my phone, I hit his phone. We dropped a collab project Ignorant Shit. We always be talking about doing new stuff together, whether it be shows … whatever.” Soulja Boy says, “I feel like I’m at a point in my life where I got kids now, he got kids, we at a whole different level.”
Bow Wow also addressed the former beef in 2021. “Soulja is my brotha for life,” he began, “We will never in life beef.” “This is fun and games. I see fans like awww man here they go…. thats my dawg and thats why we can bag on each other the way we do. You guys have nothing to worry about,” he told social media followers. In March of that year, he also shared his thoughts on how he feels Soulja “Definitely changed the game in Hip Hop,” “from a viral level, from social media, from YouTube.”
He went on to say, “Soulja, he created that lane. He was the first big digital internet sensation that we saw.” His comments followed Soulja Boy taking shots at Drake following him crediting Bow Wow for his success. “I just felt that Soulja wants his flowers,” Bow Wow explained. “The same way how I’m getting mine now, I feel like—you saw me with Drizzy and he said what he said… It’s just a feeling that you want but you don’t really have to go ask for it. I never asked for it. I wanted it, bad, like stop playing with me. That’s how I felt behind closed doors.”
Jay-Z is set to have a big payday soon, after fragrance company Parlux lost it’s appeal to a 2021 court ruling. Jay-Z had countersued the company in 2016 for unpaid royalties after they sued him for allegedly breaching his contract. Courts determined Jay-Z was the party owed money, and Parlux later appealed the decision. Courts confirmed today that they stand by the original ruling, meaning Parlux now owes Jay-Z $6.8 million.
Parlux sued Jay-Z in 2016, claiming the artist refused to follow through with his end of a fragrance partnership. They were seeking $67 million, accusing the artist of breaching his contract. He later countersued Parlux, claiming they gave him inaccurate information on the financial health of the company and failed to pay him the royalties he was owed for their partnership. A 2021 trial saw a court determine that Jay-Z didn’t owe Parlux any money, and instead Supreme Court Justice Andrew Borrok ruled that the company owed him $6.78 million in unpaid royalties. Parlux later appealed the 2021 ruling and lost, meaning Jay-Z will now be the one to receive a massive payout. The company can still appeal the court’s decision, however, there’s been no indication that they plan to do so.
The Parlux lawsuit wasn’t the only legal battle Jay-Z has been dealing with as of late. In February, he reached an agreement with Bacardi after the rapper sued the drink company in 2022. He tried to buy out his brand after claiming that Bacardi mismanaged D’Ussé. He later sued the company for information after the two parties couldn’t reach an agreement. His team requested that Bacardi provide “all books and records, the location of all warehouses storing D’Ussé barrels, bottles and accessories.” They also requested “all info regarding Bacardi’s physical inventory and its inventory process.”
Jay-Z shared a statement following the new agreement. He said, “Growing D’usse over the past decade from an idea to one of the fastest-selling spirits in history has been a blessing.” He added, “The next phase of this journey will further cement D’usse’s legacy as one of the world’s most respected brands. I am excited to renew this partnership with Bacardi.”
Megan Thee Stallion is one of the most popular women in the rap game today. From her humble origins with her freestyles going viral to collaborating with one of the biggest artists of all time to going through multiple traumatic events, her life has indeed been a journey. Megan has pursued through it all and has found happiness in the midst of it. Her last relationship with rapper-songwriter Pardison Fontaine was quite public, but she may have moved on to a new one with soccer player Romelu Lukaku. Meg was originally quite open with things like this, in addition to being interactive on social media. However, after a hiatus, she’s since returned, but most of her social media posts have been for promotional purposes.
Meg’s Career Took Off Through the Internet
Tina Snow is an essential project from Megan The Stallion. This project included some of her early hits like “Big Ole Freak,” “Neva,” “Hot Girl,” and “Cognac Queen.” “Tina Snow” is one of several personas Meg created to differentiate between her delivery and production choices in her music. This version of her favors the Houston sound she grew up on. Her mother, Holly Thomas, was a big inspiration for this sound as she was also an artist at one point who went by the name Holly-Wood and, naturally, was Meg’s number-one supporter. This support was both sentimental and business related as she was Meg’s manager, too. Unfortunately, she passed away in March 2019. The loss was devastating for Meg; she had to deal with it just as her career was taking off and she was in the public eye.
Meg Took Some Losses, But She Bounced Back
Megan, unfortunately, had to deal with the loss of her grandmother two weeks after her mother’s passing. She posted a video on Instagram about how hard it was to lose the most important women in her life: “Although all these positive things have been happening to me, and I’ve been trying to do good, been trying to keep a smile on my face, stay strong…” she said. “I just wanted to spread some positivity and tell y’all to stay positive, stay kind through your hard times because the pain doesn’t last forever. Try not to get in a dark place…” As her career continued, she would share more vulnerable moments like this in her music.
Megan Thee Stallion’s reach grew when she dropped her highly successful project Fever in May 2019. This project introduced her listeners to the “Hot Girl Meg” persona. This persona focused on carefree confidence and upbeat danceable production. Megan promoted the project by declaring it signified the beginning of “Hot Girl Summer,” which has become part of her brand. Fever had several songs produced by legendary southern artist Juicy J and others from her go-to producer, LilJuMadeDaBeat. This project included one of her most popular songs, “Cash Sh*t,” which featured DaBaby and went triple platinum. However, her next move was even bigger as she signed a management deal with Roc Nation in September 2019.
Megan Thee Stallion Had An Eventful 2020
Megan Thee Stallion took over the rap world even more when she dropped her song “Savage” in March 2020. The four times platinum hit blew up even more when she dropped a remix that featured Beyoncé in April. The song found Beyoncé in her infrequently used rap bag and was a win for listeners not only from Houston but for listeners all over who had been supporting Meg. She had secured a feature from the most prominent artist from her state, who was also one of the biggest artists in the world. After a few other singles, she dropped her debut album Good News in November 2020. However, she went through another traumatic event in the summer of that year, which she addressed in that project. Rapper Tory Lanez shot Megan Thee Stallion in the foot in July 2020.
The Tory Lanez situation is part of Megan Thee Stallion’s story that arguably harmed her career. The case followed Meg everywhere until it ended in May 2023. Tory was found guilty and will reportedly be sentenced in June 2023. Megan dealt with hardship in terms of her music, too. Her contractual situation involved her suing her label, 1501 Certified Entertainment, as well as them counter-suing her.
The definition of what counts as an “album,” which is its own topic in the music world, was a part of the disagreement. A judge would side with Megan, agreeing that her 2021 project, Something For Thee Hotties, should be treated as an album. The 1501 bosses argued it couldn’t be counted toward her contractual obligation with the label. The pair of entities are still engaged in a multimillion-dollar legal showdown.
Megan’s List Of Accomplishments Continues To Grow
Megan Thee Stallion’s bio has many positive moments. She did a Super Bowl commercial for Flamin’ Hot Cheetos and appeared on the shows Good Girls, She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, and P-Valley. She will also reportedly star in a new film from A24 titled F*cking Identical Twins. Megan has also been open about loving anime and has done a merchandise deal with Crunchyroll that featured a character modeled directly after her. One of her biggest accomplishments is winning three Grammys in 2021 for Best New Artist, Best Rap Song, and Best Rap Performance. Meg has won BET Awards, BET Hip Hop Awards, American Music Awards, and more. While tackling it all, she also graduated from Texas Southern University in 2021.
Megan Thee Stallion’s latest album, Traumazine, dropped in August 2022. It showed Megan at her most vulnerable yet and, naturally, had her speaking on her life’s journey and controversies. Since then, she’s been much more low-key on social media. In a recent interview with InStyle, she gave an update on the next phase of her career: “Fans can expect new music when I’m in a better place…Right now, I’m focused on healing. The music and entertainment industry can be a grind, so it’s important to take time off and avoid burning out…life is all about balance.” Megan Thee Stallion’s listeners have been respectful of her time away, and considering everything she’s done so far, they know when she returns, it’ll be in full force.
