Lauren London Admits She’s Still “A Mess” Over Nipsey Hussle’s Death While Discussing Her Grieving Process

Lauren London says she’s still dealing with the death of her late partner, Nipsey Hussle, who was shot and killed outside of his store, Marathon Clothing, in 2019. She reflected on his tragic passing during an interview with Radhi Devlukia on the A Really Good Cry podcast, earlier this week.

“I still feel like a mess, that’s the thing,” she admitted, as caught by Billboard, “I guess I have to ask my friends how far I’ve come because I still genuinely feel like I have not arrived anywhere… I feel like I’m really heavy a lot, but again, I have to counter that to just, like, the grace of God, because if it was up to me, I would be sliding in here on my stomach, but I also don’t want to take away from the work that I’ve done from then until now. So, I don’t wanna do that, ’cause I’m good at doing that.” She added that her kids and her community have been an immense help. “God just placed people in my life that can kinda just usher me in and teach me and guide me. I always say the prayer of strangers held me up,” she said.

Common Reveals He Overlooked Kanye West Due to His Drums

Elliott Wilson has released the third episode of his podcast, Elliott Wilson Experience, which features hip-hop icons Common and Pete Rock.

In this episode, Common opens up about his early interactions with Kanye West, admitting that he initially overlooked West’s potential stardom. “I’m victim too,” he shared. “Ye was trying to give me beats back in ’97, I had no idea. His drums weren’t there yet… Eventually, I was like come on, bro, save me.”

Common also discusses the newfound longevity of hip-hop artists, citing Kanye West and Kendrick Lamar as prime examples. He noted, “Two dudes be growing with their styles, like sounds on their albums. ‘good kid’ is not like ‘To Pimp a Butterfly’ is not like ‘DAMN.’ Ye’s all his joints, ‘College Dropout,’ you can feel the evolution there.”

Reflecting on hip-hop’s aging, Common added, “A lot of people we looked at as GREATS didn’t keep evolving… But then you started getting new artists like Ye or what JAY did with 4:44. That’s one of his best albums to me; that’s showing maturity and evolution.”

The Elliott Wilson Experience podcast launched recently with an inaugural episode featuring NYC hip-hop artist Cash Cobain and will release weekly episodes featuring hip-hop talents, executives, and innovators via HipHopDX’s YouTube channel and on all streaming platforms.

Young Thug’s Lawyer Brian Steel Sees Himself As A Civil Rights Leader

Young Thug is currently on trial as part of the YSL RICO case, and in the eyes of many, this trial has been a complete and utter farce. Overall, the reasoning behind this is because little progress has been made. Moreover, the actions of those on the witness stand have been combative to say the least. With all of the delays and antics in court, there is a belief that the trial could go until 2027. If that is truly the case, then one could make the argument that Thugger is not being given his right to a fair and speedy trial.

That said, the trial has been continuing in court this week. With Lil Woody off of the stand, the trial has not been getting nearly as much attention. However, that is not to say that there haven’t been storylines to emerge. Case in point, there was a moment in court yesterday where someone noted there were no civil rights leaders in court. However, Thug’s lawyer Brian Steel took exception to this. As you can see below, he had the judge correct the record and let people know how he sees himself.

Brian Steel Is Working Hard For Young Thug

If you remember, Brian Steel was willing to go to prison for Young Thug just a couple of months ago. He was even arrested in court, and it had everyone singing his praises online. As for the Civil Rights leader comments, it remains to be seen if fans will be rocking with that. Regardless, there is no doubt that Young Thug has a lawyer who cares deeply about his freedom. That kind of representation is priceless.

Let us know your thoughts on the Young Thug trial, in the comments section down below. Do you believe that Thugger has been treated unfairly throughout this entire process? Do you think he will end up winning his case? Additionally, stay tuned to HNHH for the latest news and updates from around the music world. Raygun Causes Viral Confusion By Claiming World No. 1 Ranking For Breakdancing

The World DanceSport Federation has announced that controversial Australian breakdancer, Raygun, is currently the top-ranked breaker in the world. Her place at the top comes despite her viral showing at the 2024 Paris Olympics, during which she failed to score a single point with her performance. In the wake of the announcement, the organization put out a statement clarifying how it determines its rankings.

“We would like to take this opportunity to provide clarity on the ranking methodology and address the concerns raised,” the statement began. “The WDSF Breaking World Ranking List is governed by the WDSF Breaking Rules and Regulations Manual (BRRM) and is updated based on each athlete’s top four performances within the past 12 months. Points earned in these competitions remain valid for 52 weeks from the date of the event.” As for Raygun specifically, they explained that she “placed first at the Oceania Continental Championships, October 2023 (ranking points will expire on 28 October 2024).”

Raygun Competes At The Paris Olympics

The update comes after Raygun reaffirmed her belief that she’s the best breaker in Australia during a recent interview with the local outlet, The Project. “I think my record speaks to that,” she said of being worthy to compete at the Olympics. “I was the top-ranked Australian b-girl in 2020 and 2022 and 2023 … The record is there. But anything can happen in a battle.” She did, however, admit she knew her “chances were slim” at the international event.

Raygun also expressed her apologies for the public backlash the sport faced in the wake of her performance. As the Olympic games shift focus to Los Angeles in 2028, they’ll be leaving breakdancing behind. Be on the lookout for further updates on Raygun on HotNewHipHop.

Pharrell Firmly Shuts Down Kelis’ Complaints About Beyonce’s Use Of “Milkshake”

Pharrell says that he and his former Neptunes partner, Chad Hugo, wrote and produced Kelis’ iconic track, “Milkshake,” despite her rant on social media about the song. Speaking with The Hollywood Reporter for an interview ahead of the release of his new film, Piece by Piece, the legendary producer revealed he hasn’t spoken to Kelis about the situation. “I wish her the absolute best. But I wrote this song,” he firmly stated, adding that he doesn’t need permission to use the track. “It was me and Chad [who] produced it.”

Kelis made her original complaints after Beyonce used an interpolation of the 2003 hit song on her 2022 album, Renaissance. “The reality is that it’s frustrating. I have the right to be frustrated. Why did no one have the human decency to call and be like, ‘Yo, hey, [we] would like to use your record,’” she shared in an Instagram video at the time.

Kelis wasn’t the only artist Pharrell discussed working with during the interview with The Hollywood Reporter. He also reflected on making “I’m a Slave 4 U” with Britney Spears, although he hasn’t talked to her in quite some time. “Man, I ain’t spoke to Britney in maybe 10-plus years,” he revealed. “I think I’ve seen her in the elevator one time. I think we were all going into the same place or something. I can remember exactly where it was, and she had her sunglasses on, and I was like, ‘I know that’s Britney. Maybe she doesn’t remember me. That’s fine..’”

Pharrell also revealed that he still hopes to work with Sade as well as Future. Despite collaborating with Future on “Move That Dope” and “1000,” he added: “I’ve got other plans, though.” Be on the lookout for further updates on Pharrell and Kelis on HotNewHipHop.

Tyrese Arrested for Unpaid Child Support

Tyrese Arrested for Unpaid Child Support

An Atlanta judge showed just how serious he was about child support on Monday when he ordered Tyrese into custody for failure to pay child support.

The artist (real name Tyrese Gibson) was arrested for failing to pay court-ordered child support to his ex-wife, Samantha Lee, with whom he shares a 5 year old daughter. The judge, Kevin Farmer, had ordered Gibson to pay $10,000 per month starting in April 2023, but Gibson had been paying only $2,200 monthly.

During a court hearing in Fulton County, Georgia, the judge expressed frustration with Gibson’s continued refusal to meet the payment requirement. As a result, Gibson was held in contempt of court, handcuffed, and taken into custody. However, the judge offered him a way to avoid jail by paying $73,000, which includes $7,500 for Lee’s attorney fees.

It appears that Tyrese saw his arrest coming, appearing Sunday on Instagram to say that he’s never done anything illegal and claiming that both of his exes are in the wrong and that he is innocent, asking his women followers who have been in similar situations to side with him. He also encouraged his followers to buy tickets to his upcoming shows as a way to “support real R&B.”

Despite his morning arrest, sources report that Gibson plans to come up with the $73,000 and be released by the end of the day.

This is not Gibson’s first dust up with the judge. In a 2023 hearing, Gibson pushed back on the judge after the judge read from his tax return that he [Gibson] had made $2.2 million in 2018 despite claiming that his finances were “in shambles.” After Gibson protested, the judge ordered him to be held in contempt before issuing the child support order.

Nick Cannon’s Reality on Love with Mariah Carey: ‘She Don’t Want Me’

Nick Cannon baby number 8 apology

Nick Cannon says Mariah Carey is over his relationship. Speaking with People, he stated, “Yeah, she don’t want me.”

He added, “She’s moved on from my crazy antics.”

In August, Cannon said that he may have a wish to get back with his pop diva ex-wife, Mariah Carey, revealing he has a “Vision of Love” for her.

Cannon, 43, who is a father of 12, shared that he is hopeful he can rekindle his relationship with Carey, with whom he shares his first children, 13-year-old twins Moroccan “Roc” Cannon and Monroe “Roe” Cannon.

Taking ya’ll back to memory lane, the couple finalized their divorce eight years ago after six years of marriage.

Get this: in an interview with E! News on Tuesday, August 6, Cannon said, “We belong together.” He added that he would “absolutely” consider getting back together with the singer, 55, saying it would “be stupid if [he] didn’t.” However, Cannon admitted, “She don’t want me,” and jokingly told E! cohost Courtney Bee that given the number of children he has had since their separation, Carey would probably say, “No, you can’t come back home.”

In addition to his twins with Carey, the multi-hyphenate entrepreneur shares sons Golden Sagon, 7, and Rise Messiah Cannon, 1, and daughter Powerful Queen, 3, with Brittany Bell. He has another set of twins, Zion Mixolydian and Zillion Heir, 3, with Abby De La Rosa and daughter Beautiful Zeppelin, 1. He shares his son Legendary Love with Bre Tiesi and his daughter Onyx Ice Cole with LaNisha Cole. With Alyssa Scott, he has two children: son Zen, who passed away at 5 months old in December 2021 due to brain cancer, and daughter Halo Marie Cannon, born on December 14, 2022.

Cannon mentioned to E! that all of the children’s mothers get along, even though he doesn’t “expect them to.” He explained, “I think that’s the thing that people might always think that it would be that. But it’s like everybody lives their own life, before me and after me. So I think that’s how you keep the peace and everybody moving, like everybody worried about themselves and not worried about what someone else is.”

The avid father emphasized that the key to maintaining harmony is focusing on the children’s happiness, saying, “As long as the kids are happy and they have the strongest understanding, I think that’s what makes sense. You gotta operate out of that.”

Well, let’s see how it goes. We’re rooting for them either way.
