James Harden Reiterates Desire For Sixers Exit

James Harden’s sign-to-trade return to the Sixers was one of the first major shocks of the NBA offseason. Since the veteran officially exercised his player option, the Sixers have attempted to find an equitable trade. However, hope remained within the organization that Joel Embiid, alongside new head coach Nick Nurse, could convince Harden to stay.

However, it appears that Harden is set on leaving the City of Brotherly Love. According to ESPN‘s Ramona Shelburne, Harden has reiterated his desire to be traded. Harden has played for the Sixers since a midseason trade with the Nets during the 2021/22 campaign. Across 79 games for the Sixers, Harden is averaging 21 points, 6.4 rebounds, and 10.6 assists per game. During the 2022/23 season, Harden led the league in assists per game.

Harden Still Wants Out

“James Harden has spoken to Daryl Morey since the first trade request, and I think there was some cooling off period. ‘OK, let’s let this lie and see how things play out,’” Shelburne said. “And they’ve spoken again, and he still reiterated he wants to be traded. Now, this isn’t a demand, it’s a request. And I think the Sixers have said, ‘OK, we will try to trade you, but there is no hurry to do this. I think the Sixers understand here that they have the leverage here,” Shelburne continued. “[Harden] picked up his option, this is an opt-in to a contract and he’s going to be a free agent after this season. And so, at some point, he needs to play, whether that’s in Philadelphia or elsewhere.”

It’s an eerily similar situation to the one unfolding in Portland. Blazers GM Joe Cronin has said he is willing to wait “months” to trade Damian Lillard. This is because, despite Lillard’s desire to leave Portland, he has no leverage in the situation. The Blazers are able to wait on the right trade package, knowing the only person who gets hurt by retaliation is Lillard himself. Similarly, as Shelburne mentions, Harden can’t afford to hold out on the Sixers given that he will be on the free agent market season. However, contrary to the Portland situation, things still appear to be amicable between Harden and the Sixers. However, this is a developing story and we’ll have any updates here at HotNewHipHop.

Damian Lillard Formally Requests Trade

Damian Lillard has formally submitted a trade request to the Portland Trail Blazers, per ESPN. Lillard, who was drafted sixth overall by the Blazers in 2012, has reportedly grown increasingly unhappy with the direction of the franchise. Despite Portland making the playoffs every year between 2014 and 2021, five of those runs ended in the first round. Furthermore, the Blazers have missed the playoffs in the last two seasons, tallying just 60 total wins in that time.

Lillard openly flirted with a trade earlier in the offseason. He told The Last Stand that if he was traded, his preferred destination would be the Miami Heat. Eager to keep Lillard in Portland, the Blazers were reportedly willing to trade away the third-overall pick in the 2023 Draft for an elite veteran. That did not come to pass and the Blazers instead drafted highly-touted prospect Scoot Henderson. While Lillard said he was willing to wait and see what the Blazers did in free agency, it appears that he has now made up his mind.

Blazers Expected To Honor Lillard Trade Request

Lillard’s trade request is now official. The Heat, Clippers, and Sixers are all expected to be primary suitors for his services. However, a source reiterated to Marc J. Spears that the Heat remained Lillard’s personal preference. Furthermore, the Blazers are expected to honor Lillard’s request for a change of scenery. This is despite Lillard being under contract for the next two seasons. This will likely see the Blazers build a young core around Jerami Grant. They gave the 29-year-old a 5-year, $160 million contract at the start of free agency.

According to ESPN Stats & Information, Lillard’s 32.2 points per game in 2022-23 will become the most by a player who changed teams the following season. Additionally, his production is likely to turn any contender into a title favorite. If he does head to Miami, he will be the final piece of a modern Heat Big 3 with Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo. Meanwhile, he could join a potentially stacked roster in LA. Reportedly, the Clippers are already chasing a trade for James Harden. This is very much a developing story and we’ll have any updates here on HotNewHipHop.

Lamar Jackson Reveals He Has Requested A Trade

Overall, it has been very clear that the Baltimore Ravens and Lamar Jackson are at odds. He believes he is worth over $40 million per year, while the Ravens seemingly disagree. Moreover, there is even a dispute over how much guaranteed money Jackson deserves. Subsequently, Jackson has been placed under the non-exclusive franchise tag, which has capped his value with the Ravens at $32 million. Shockingly, no other team has offered Jackson any money, and many are wondering if collusion is at play.

Additionally, Lamar Jackson has been quite vocal about the situation on social media. Fans are concerned about his future with the team, and other fanbases are feeling hopeful that their team can swoop in and get Lamar. Now, however, a new bombshell has been revealed. Just moments ago, Jackson took to Twitter with a lengthy message for his fans. Within this message, he revealed that he has asked the Ravens for a trade.

Lamar Jackson Thanks His Fans

“I want to first thank you all for all of the love and support you consistently show towards me,” Jackson said. “All of you are amazing and I appreciate y’all so much. I want you all to know not to believe everything you read about me. Let me personally answer your questions in regards to my future plans. As of March 2nd I requested a trade from the Ravens organization for which the Ravens has not been interested in meeting my value, any and everyone that’s has met me or been around me know I love the game of football and my dream is to help a team win the super bowl. You all are great but I had to make a business decision that was best for my family and I.”

He subsequently went on to say that he loves the fans in Baltimore and will always have a place in his heart for them. However, based on his words, it also seems evident that the Ravens do not want to make a trade. They believe they have the upper hand, and it has put Jackson in a position where he has to make public statements such as this one. Needless to say, this whole situation has become a mess. Stay tuned to HNHH for the latest news and updates on this developing story.

Patrick Beverley Claims He Wanted Lakers To Trade Him

Patrick Beverley is someone who is not afraid to speak his mind, whether that be out on the court, or on his podcast. Overall, Beverley is one of those players who is known for being a gritty guy. His trash talk is next level, and he is a hard person to play against. However, in the last couple of years, some have felt that Beverley does too much talking for someone who doesn’t make a big impact on the score sheet. Nevertheless, there are plenty of teams out there who still think he is worth signing.

That is exactly what we saw at the trade deadline as Beverley was sent to the Orlando Magic. Although the Magic decided to buy out his deal, Beverley immediately found a new home. The point guard signed with the Chicago Bulls, and he even had the Golden State Warriors calling his phone. Most reporting around the Beverley trade noted that it was the Lakers who were shopping him around. On his podcast, however, Beverley made the claim that it was he who requested a move out of L.A.

Patrick Beverley Tells All

“Tell the viewers what really, really, went down in LA,” Beverley said. “I don’t mean cup of tea type of shit, but you know, you know. To some people, it could be that Pat Bev got traded when all reality I didn’t like what was going on, and let’s find a better home for me. Not so, that he ain’t good enough let’s get rid of him. All that shit was my decision. So, you gotta think, I’m making the decision, it was my decision, they honored my request, but at the same time, I’m sitting here without a home.”

This is definitely an interesting revelation, although it is hard to tell if he being truthful here. Beverley is known to embellish, and the Lakers did seem pretty excited to get rid of him at the deadline. Regardless, these comments made it clear that there was some dysfunction within that Lakers locker room. Let us know what you think about all of this, down below. Kevin Durant Gets Honest About Kyrie Irving Trade Request

Kevin Durant is currently a member of the Phoenix Suns. Overall, this would not have happened without Kyrie Irving and his infamous trade request. With Kyrie claiming to want a long-term deal, the Nets made it clear that they had some reservations. Consequently, Irving was offended and he decided to ask for a move. Subsequently, he was traded to the Dallas Mavericks which then led to the Durant trade.

Now, the entire Western Conference has been shaken up. Although some fans hate how quickly the NBA can change, others find this exciting. The West is going to be extremely interesting come playoff time, and in the eyes of many, the Suns are favorites to win it all. However, there are others who are curious about Durant’s feelings toward Kyrie. On the most recent episode of The ETCs, Durant revealed exactly how everything made him feel.

Kevin Durant Speaks

“I’m disappointed that we didn’t finish the season, but I also know that we’re all our own separate entities,” Durant said. “We all move and do the things that we wanna do for our careers. I can’t fault somebody for doing that, even though it might have been at our expense as a team. But that’s who he is and that’s what he wanted to and I can’t have a problem with that. I don’t wanna act like I wasn’t upset that we didn’t finish the season because I love playing with Kai, I wanted to see where we can go with that because we were both playing at a high level. … We haven’t had a conversation but eventually we will.”

Clearly, Durant and Kyrie are still cool with one another. At the end of the day, Kyrie made a decision and KD respects that. Although, there is no doubt that these two could have made a run together in Brooklyn. Now, it seems like KD is much better suited for a deep playoff run. Let us know what you think of KD’s remarks, in the comments below. Additionally, stay tuned to HNHH for more news from the sports world.

Kyrie Irving Speaks Amid Trade Request

Today, the NBA got hit with some very shocking news as it was revealed that Kyrie Irving requested a trade out of Brooklyn. After all, Irving had recently told the Nets that he wanted a contract extension. Furthermore, he was playing great basketball. With Kevin Durant in the lineup, the Nets have been fantastic. Despite this, it seems like Kyrie simply wants to go somewhere else.

For now, it remains to be seen as to where Kyrie will wind up. So far, journalists like Adrian Wojnarowski have reported that Irving will be pursued by the Los Angeles Lakers and Dallas Mavericks. Additionally, Irving has already shown a large interest in the Lakers. A LeBron and Kyrie reunion would certainly move the needle for NBA interest. Not to mention, the Lakers would instantly become title contenders again. Needless to say, Lakers fans are cheering hard for this scenario.

Kyrie Tweets

As for Kyrie himself, he actually took to Twitter amid the trade request news. In the tweet above, he had one of his signature messages that promotes positivity and free-thinking. “To my Peers: JUST BE YOURSelf and GROW!,” he wrote. “Keep people around who CELEBRATE YOU unconditionally and appreciates all of the hard work that gets put in. Kyrie Irving Requests Trade Out Of Brooklyn

Kyrie Irving has certainly had an interesting tenure with the Brooklyn Nets. Since joining the team back in 2019, Kyrie has had an up-and-down stretch. Overall, he has had to deal with numerous injuries. Additionally, he has had a slew of controversies, including the anti-semitism allegations that got him suspended from the team. Despite all of this, Kyrie has continued to ball out on the court, and it was looking like he and the Nets had reached a new chapter. In fact, Kyrie even made it clear last week that he wanted a long-term deal with the Nets.

Unfortunately, Kyrie’s erratic behavior over the years has made it hard for the Nets to want a long-term deal. The team is aware that he is rarely available for large stretches of the season. Having said that, one could assume that the Nets were not as eager to get a deal done as Kyrie was. Add in the fact that the Nets have never gone past the second round with Kyrie and KD, and you realize why they may be additionally apprehensive.

Kyrie Irving Wants Out

According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, it seems like the Nets were, indeed, a bit squeamish during negotiations. Consequently, Kyrie Irving officially wants a trade from the Nets. Today, Irving told the team that he would prefer to be sent to another team by the deadline. Moreover, if he isn’t traded, he will simply walk away during free agency. No matter what, this is a horrible situation for the Nets to be in. With Kevin Durant out of the lineup, they have been relying on Kyrie. Not to mention, with KD in the lineup, the team was playing championship basketball. Now, however, Kyrie is throwing all of that away, and NBA fans are eager to see how this plays out.

The most obvious destination for Kyrie is the Lakers. They are willing to give up Russell Westbrook and their two future first-round picks. Whether or not that is enough for the Nets’ front office, still remains to be seen. Either way, stay tuned to HNHH for the latest news from around the sports world. Additionally, let us know where you think Kyrie should go, in the comments below.
