The Kid Laroi Attempts To Overcome Self-Sabotage To Win At Love On ‘Thousand Miles’

The Kid Laroi saw his career reach new heights after he released a third deluxe reissue of his debut mixtape F*ck Love. The release was highlighted by “Stay,” his collaboration with Justin Bieber, which went on to spend multiple weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard singles chart. While that song is still very much enjoying the height of its success, Laroi is ready to start the latest chapter of his career with the impending release of his debut album Kids Are Growing Up and he kicks it off with his new single, “Thousand Miles.”

The track arrives with a music video that watches Laroi battle against himself to successfully win at love. Self-sabotage arrives as one of Laroi’s alter egos and it goes to great lengths to ruin his chances with a new girl. It ties him to a car and drives him for miles, drops a piano on his head, electrocutes him, and more, all of which take place in the song’s comedic video. Unfortunately, his destructive ways prove to be superior in the end.

“Thousand Miles” arrives after Laroi went to great lengths to promote the song, even tricking some into thinking that he was at odds with his former manager Scooter Braun. It came after Laroi posted a TikTok which insinuated that Braun was his “last mistake.” However, just a day later, Braun showed text messages between him and Laroi that proved the TikTok was nothing more than a well-planned prank.

Scooter Braun Says The Kid Laroi’s ‘Last Mistake’ TikTok Was A Just A Prank

The Kid Laroi recently posted a TikTok that seemingly took some shots at his ex-manager Scooter Braun. The video, which is captioned “show me ur last mistake. use this sound,” was used to promote his upcoming song “Thousand Miles.” The song features the following lyrics: “Here goes another mistake I know I’m gonna make / I know I’m gonna make tonight / And I will never change.” As those play, pictures of Scooter Braun flash on the screen, leaving many to believe that Laroi was calling him his “last mistake.” However, it turns out it was nothing more than a prank.

Just a day after Laroi shared the TikTok, Braun took to his Instagram to reveal that the whole was planned. “You got a sec to talk?” Laroi texts Braun in the screenshots. “I have an idea I wanna run past you.” Braun added a message of his own about the situation, writing, “For those asking about the beef…and my friends who are wanting to go hard. Don’t believe everything you see on the internet.”

Laroi’s upcoming single, “Thousand Miles,” will arrive on April 22. It’s set to be the follow-up to “Stay,” his single with Justin Bieber which has spent multiple weeks at No. 1.

The Kid Laroi Insinuates That Scooter Braun Was His ‘Last Mistake’ In A Viral TikTok

Back in September, The Kid Laroi left Scooter Braun’s management group SB Projects just a few months after signing with them. The Australian singer would then take his talents to Adam Leber’s Rebel Management where Lil Nas X is also a client. At the time of the announcement, Laroi did not give a reason for his departure, but it now appears that things between the F*ck Love singer and Braun turned sour before he walked away. In a new TikTok that Laroi posted to promote his upcoming single “Thousand Miles,” he asked his fans to share their “last mistake,” but it’s what Laroi revealed that surprised people.

The upcoming record features the lyrics, “Here goes another mistake I know I’m gonna make / I know I’m gonna make tonight / And I will never change.” As those words play in the TikTok, photos of Braun appear across the screen, pushing some to believe that Laroi considers his former manager to be his “last mistake.” Many were confused by Laroi’s TikTok as one person commented, “The way I can’t tell if this is a joke or not.”

If the TikTok is not a joke, Laroi would join the likes of Taylor Swift and others who have publicly shown their dismay for Braun. Swift and Braun were tied up in a very public feud after he bought the label that owned her masters and made it very difficult for her to buy them from him. As for Laroi, his split with Braun came after he released “Stay” with Justin Bieber which spent multiple weeks at No. 1.
