As you can imagine, Smith has a very special affinity for Air Jordans. He has always considered Michael Jordan to be the GOAT, and this extends to the sneaker world. Moreover, Smith’s favorite Jordan sneaker seems to be the Air Jordan 3. Overall, Stephen A. loves the design of this shoe. He also likes it because it ushered in an era where MJ was actually winning games out on the court. From there, he subsequently gave props to Allen Iverson for his work with Reebok. He also praised Under Armour for protecting Steph Curry and his ankles.

At the end of the episode, it was revealed that Smith had bought two pairs of sneakers. Stephen A. Smith is one of the best analysts in the game, and that has not changed over the years. Overall, you may not like his opinions, but you have to respect his craft all of these years into the game. Although he tends to get a lot of flack, he keeps pushing the limits, and it’s hard not to love that. That said, Smith has had a lot to comment on as of late. For instance, there is the current situation with Ja Morant. Morant recently got suspended by the league, but now, he is set to return.

Moreover, Morant recently sat down with Jalen Rose where he explained that he has sought counseling for stress and anxiety. While many are happy for Morant, they feel like one week isn’t enough time to get your head right. Fans believe his return is premature and could lead to a regression back to his old ways. Overall, there is no telling what will actually happen. However, Stephen A. is urging for an abundance of caution right now. As he explained on First Take, he is not convinced that Morant is out of the woods.

“It does not seem realistic, to me, that Ja Morant could have solved all the issues he has alluded to having in just 10 days,” Stephen A. explained. As of late, Stephen A. Smith has been known largely for his condemnation of Dallas Mavericks guard Kyrie Irving. While to viewers, it seems as if Smith’s issues with Irving stem from his refusal to get vaccinated in order to play, the First Take commentator said on a recent podcast that his issues with Kyrie go deeper than the vaccine. In fact, he has personal issues with the basketball star.

Smith addressed his issues with Kyrie on a recent episode of the Mike Missandeli Podcast. He started off by addressing Jay Williams’ criticism of his condemnation of Kyrie, before revealing that he has personal problems with Kyrie, more so his father

“Now Kyrie and I have our differences on a personal level, which is none of anybody’s business and I’ll never tell why,” Smith said. “He knows why. And his daddy knows why. They know how I feel about how they’ve acted towards me and they know how I feel about them and I know how they feel about me. But I can say that to anybody out there because I know that that does not interfere with my reporting on him and my perspective based off of the facts.”

Stephen A. Smith Hits Suns With Reality Check After KD Injury

Stephen A. Smith has had a lot to talk about as it pertains to the NBA world over these past few weeks. Overall, a lot has happened. This is particularly true as it pertains to the Phoenix Suns. They recently traded for Kevin Durant, who is 3-0 during his time with the team. Additionally, yesterday was supposed to be a joyous occasion for the team as they were playing the Oklahoma City Thunder at home. This was going to be KD’s first home game with the team. The fans were excited about the match, and the atmosphere in the arena was palpable.

Unfortunately, things went left before the game as KD injured his left ankle. He slipped on the court and subsequently missed the entirety of the game. Moreover, it was reported that his injury could end up keeping him out for the rest of the season. This would even extend to the first round of the playoffs. It is an absolutely brutal situation that could derail the Suns’ season. As Stephen A. explained today, this has a huge effect on the Suns’ ability to win a title.

“There are no title aspirations that are reasonable for the Phoenix Suns without Kevin Durant,” Stephen A. said. “If he ain’t there, they don’t have a snowball’s chance in hell.” Needless to say, the First Take host does not have very much faith in this team, beyond Kevin Durant. Ultimately, this is a fair assessment when you realize how this team has no depth once you take KD out of the equation. Of course, this is because the team traded all of its depth in order to acquire the superstar.

KD is one of the best players in the league, and when you lose him, it is incredibly hard to win. You just have to ask the Brooklyn Nets and they will confirm this to be true. Stephen A. Smith has always been a big fan of Lamar Jackson. Overall, there isn’t much to dislike about Jackson. However, he has struggled with injuries, and that is exactly why the Ravens will not offer him a huge contract. This is a very unique situation as any team can sign Jackson to an offer sheet. Subsequently, the Ravens have to either match the offer and keep Lamar or let him walk for two first-round picks. Shockingly, there isn’t a single team looking to make an offer. Instead, numerous teams without a quarterback have come out and said that they will not pursue the former MVP. This has many screaming “collusion,” and today on First Take, Stephen A. spoke about those allegations.

While speaking to Chris “Mad Dog” Russo, Stephen A. made the point that the non-exclusive franchise tag is a clause “built on collusion.” Meaning, it is a great way for teams to teach players a lesson in asking for more money than they are worth. The owners effectively win because they get to keep their best players for low prices. Moreover, the other owners benefit because now, the price for quarterbacks has dropped significantly. For example, if Jackson doesn’t get an offer sheet, he will make $32 million next year, instead of the $40 million that guys like Daniel Jones are getting. It feels like the owners are breaking the rules, although the rules are quite literally drawn up this way.

For Jackson, this is going to be a difficult few weeks. If he remains in Baltimore on this one-year bridge deal, then he will likely have to negotiate a weaker contract for himself. Stephen A. Smith Has A Message For Ja Morant And His Father

Stephen A. Smith is someone who always tries to tell it like it is, no matter what the circumstances are. If you have been paying attention to the NBA as of late, you know that the latest discourse is centered around Ja Morant. Overall, this is due to his recent behavior. For instance, he was recently seen waving a gun on Instagram live. Furthermore, he has been hit with a bevy of allegations that could very well derail his young career. Needless to say, Morant needs to take a deep breath and figure himself out before stepping on the court again.

The Grizzlies have subsequently suspended Ja Morant indefinitely. As for Stephen A., he has been tasked with speaking on Morant. Over the weekend, Smith laid out the fact for Ja, noting that the NBA has people watching their players’ every move. Smith even claims that the NBA has ties to the FBI and that they will catch you if you step out of line. It was an ominous sort of warning, although it is one that many players need to hear. Today on First Take, however, Smith had a direct message for Tee Morant, Ja’s father.

“I’m simply trying to highlight and illuminate to Tee Morant the importance of him being a dad,” Smith said. “You raised him. You helped get him to this point. Make sure that you don’t let anybody get in the way of what he is on the verge of accomplishing. Make sure you do your part in protecting him instead of joining in to have a good time like you’re one of his boys. You’re not one of his boys. You’re his dad.” This is a very poignant message that could very well go a long way. In fact, it is a sentiment that Shannon Sharpe also shared.

Kevin Durant Claps Back At Charles Barkley For Questionable LeBron Quote

Kevin Durant is someone who has always been incredibly active on social media. He isn’t shy to speak out about various happenings throughout the NBA, especially when they involve himself. Although some find his social media use to be corny, he seems to love it. Overall, KD uses Twitter as a tool to connect with those who want to talk hoops. Moreover, it is a great way for him to dunk on haters who are constantly trying to bring him down. Ever since he got rid of the burners, he has certainly been on a roll.

One person he typically finds himself quarreling with is Charles Barkley. These two never go at each other directly, however, as they are sending their shots on different platforms. Today, Charles Barkley was on First Take, where he talked about how LeBron James and Kevin Durant needed other superstars to help them win. From there, he offered up a quote of sorts in which he claims that LeBron and KD said directly that they needed other players to help them win. “[LeBron] says, ‘I had to win a championship without D-Wade to get old heads’ respect.’ Kobe Bryant says, ‘I have to win a championship without Shaq to get these old heads off my back.’ I hold Kevin Durant to the same criteria,” Barkley said.

Kevin Durant Is Just Asking Questions

Kevin Durant saw this clip making the rounds on social media and was very skeptical. As he said on Twitter “I don’t remember bron saying this…somebody link me to the article.” Of course, no one was able to find any such article. This is because James never actually said something like this. James doesn’t really acknowledge the criticism he gets from oldheads. Instead, he does his own thing and plays the kind of basketball that fulfills him, just like KD does.

Barkley and KD are two people who will continue to be at odds for years to come. At this point, KD will have to lead a G-League team to a title in order to get his respect. For now, however, Durant is looking to play his first game with the Phoenix Suns, and fans around the league are excited about it. Hopefully, he can prove himself, once and for all.
