Stephen Curry Drops Surprise 2974 Merch During NBA Finals Game 24

During the NBA Finals Game 4 tunnel walk, MVP Stephen Curry and his purpose-driven firm, SC30 Inc., introduced surprise gear that would be available only to Curry’s 2974 Collection NFT holders. This project also connects collection holders with Curry through unique and one-of-a-kind experiences.

This special gear was inspired by some of Curry’s most valued assets – his tattoos – with the support of his 2974 Discord channel. Curry’s wrist tattoos, in particular, tell a tale about his desire to improve in basketball and in life, which is represented in the hoodie and cap artwork.

On Monday, June 13th at 11:59 p.m. EST, the 2974 Collection will take a snapshot to lock in all holders at that moment. On June 15, these holders will have access to a password-protected retail store on FTX US’s NFT platform, which will close ten days later on June 24.

Customers must deposit their 2974 Collection NFTs in an FTX digital wallet and will receive personalized codes prior to the store opening. Holders in New York will be alerted via the 2974 Collection NFT Discord channel of precise instructions. Collection holders with numerous NFTs will also receive merch discounts based on the amount of NFTs they own. Customers will be able to purchase the hoodie and cap pair with distinctive packaging and a personalized greeting from Curry himself when the store opens.

Curry released a surprise NFT collection in December 2021 to commemorate breaking the all-time NBA three-point record during a game between the Golden State Warriors and the New York Knicks. Curry’s NFT was released in a limited edition of 2,974 to commemorate the record-breaking number of three-pointers he made in his career, with 100% of Curry’s profits going to Eat. Learn. Play., Stephen and Ayesha Curry’s Oakland-based non-profit that benefits community members throughout the Bay Area. Since then, the 2974 Collection NFT has generated over $4.4 million in trading volume on the FTX.US NFT platform, given away over 100 pieces of NFT memorabilia, and is gearing up for an IRL birthday celebration with holders this summer.

SOURCE SPORTS: MLB Network Releases First-Ever Spanish ‘Kickin’ It’ Segment

Kickin It 0 21 screenshot

The first-ever Kickin’ It presented by Nike segment, produced in Spanish and featuring Atlanta Braves player Ronald Acua Jr. has been released by MLB Network.

Kickin’ It, which debuted in June, showcases an MLB player talking about their in-game footwear, favorite shoes as a kid, and what they’d like to wear in the future. Some of the notable releases included St. Louis Cardinals’ Nolan Arenado, Chicago Cubs’ Wilson Contreras, and Milwaukee Brewers’ Christian Yelich.

In this episode, Acua Jr. highlights the sneaker he chose for the segment:

“These are the shoes I designed for home club. Then I put the yellow, blue, and red. The yellow is more noticeable because I have always liked to stick out. It also combines and makes reference to the flag of Venezuela. Here are the stars of Venezuela. You can see here are palms. …It makes me feel like part of my home there in La Sabana, how I am from the coast, from the beach. Over here you can see the date of my birth with my name, December 18, 1997. I have always liked since I was a child, never forget where I am from. I always put my country on top. I think that was one of the biggest motivations why this shoe is yellow. It’s a shoe that mostly stands out among the others, because if you look at the team, our uniform hardly has yellow. I make them match with a number of things I wear during the game.”

SOURCE SPORTS: Steph Curry Will Be Available for NBA Finals Game 4

After exploding in the third quarter of Game 3 of the NBA Finals, Steph Curry had a scary fourth quarter. While attempting to secure a loose ball, Boston Celtics big man Al Horford landed on Curry’s leg, leaving the superstar guard screaming in pain.

The injury was similar to the one he sustained in the same building in the regular season when Marcus Smart dived for a ball in the regular season. The difference between the two, the Smart-involved injury sidelined Curry for a while. The Horford-related injury will not keep Curry out of the next game.

“[I got] about 10½ hours of sleep, a couple dunks in the ice bucket and that’s about it for now,” Curry said to ESPN. “Then take advantage of today and tomorrow to get completely ready for the game. Get as much recovery and healing as possible and understand how important Game 4 is. I’m excited about the opportunity.”

Curry stated the previous injury let him and the Golden State Warriors coaching staff knows how to plan for this recovery.

“Because I went through what I went through in the regular season and coming back, I know exactly what it is and what I’ve got to deal with and the soreness, pain level and all that,” Curry said. “So once I got checked out last night, I knew I wouldn’t have to go get any extra tests just because we’ve been through this before.”

The Warriors will need every member of their roster heading into Game 4 to avoid a 3-1 hole and the possibility of losing the NBA Finals in their home building for Game 5.

Game 4 tips off Friday night (June 10) at 8 p.m. on ABC.

SOURCE SPORTS: Jayson Tatum Links With Nelly After Game 3 of the NBA Finals

Two St.Louis finest performed well on the court last night in Boston’s TD Garden. Boston Celtics’ small forward, Jayson Tatum, a St. Louis native, led his team to a pivotal game 3 victory over the Golden State Warriors in the NBA Finals. And Nelly, an iconic rapper from St.Louis that helped pioneer the Midwest movement in hip-hop, entertained fans during halftime.

Tatum scored 26 points and dished out nine assists, and the Boston Celtics beat the Warriors 116-100. Stephen Curry led the way for the Warriors with 31 points, including six 3-pointers.

In the first half, the game wasn’t even close. Celtics guard Jaylen Brown scored 17-points in the first quarter and led Boston to a 68-56 lead into halftime. Then the 2nd St. Louis star shined, Nelly.

If Twitter serves as any indication, Nelly still got it. At the half, the three-time Grammy Award-winning and double diamond certificated artists took canter court to do the halftime show. He wore his fellow STL native’s Boston green jersey and dazzled the crowd. Fans were on their feet as he performed several classic hits.

After the game, the two St.Lunatics met and happily embraced each other’s company. Fresh off the win, Tatum enthusiastically grabbed his son, Deuce Tatum, and went to chop it up with Nelly immediately after.

Who knows what the two conversed about, but they couldn’t hide their excitement of being two St.Louis natives achieving major goals on the main stage.

Tatum left the court to change for the press conference, and he spoke on the relationship he shares with the “Country Grammar” rapper.

“That’s my guy. I’ve known Nelly forever… Nelly is arguably like the most famous guy from St. Louis… until I catch up,” said Tatum.

SOURCE SPORTS: Drew Brees Chooses Family Time Over Returning to NBC Sports

The New York Post says the decision to part ways was mutual. Before taking a spot at NBC, Brees retired rom the Saints, capping a 20-year career in 2020-21.

Former New Orleans Saints franchise quarterback Drew Brees is a one in done for NBC football coverage. According to The Athletic, Brees is walking away from the analyst position to spend more time with family.

“The unbelievable busyness of an NFL career and then really not taking a break at all and launching right in with us with both Notre Dame football and the NFL, it was certainly an around-the-clock assignment,” NBC Sports chairman Pete Bevacqua said of the decision. “This was definitely a lifestyle choice for him, which is totally understandable.”

In addition to appearing on screen for the NFL, Brees lent his voice to Notre Dame football coverage. NBC Sports has not declared a replacement.

On June 14, 2022, the documentary Game Change Game will premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival. Following the film’s premiere, journalist Marc Spears will chair a discussion with CJ McCollum, President of the National Basketball Players Association, and the filmmakers.

The National Basketball Players Association (NBPA), a player-led union representing the 450 professional basketball players in the NBA, produced Game Change Game. The film was created in the summer of 2020 when the epidemic and the question of social justice dominated the national conversation. The documentary chronicles how NBA players came together and decided that “sitting on the bench was not an option” as they confronted and addressed social justice issues in America through personal footage shot by players and interviews with a variety of thought leaders, recording artists, and journalists.

Along with icons Julius Erving, Oscar Robertson, and Jerry West, the video features players CJ McCollum, Jaylen Brown, Andre Iguodala, Malcolm Brogdon, Garrett Temple, Donovan Mitchell, JaVale McGee, Danny Green, Rudy Gobert, Matisse Thybulle, and Tobias Harris. Doc Rivers, an NBA coach and former player, is another notable guest. Stephen A. Smith, Nikole Hannah-Jones, Marc Spears, Killer Mike, social justice advocates, and victims of police violence are among those who attended. The cast is completed by members of the NBPA leadership, who provide an insider’s view on the events of a basketball season unlike any other.

Christina Norman, head of content for the NBPA’s THINK450 Innovation Engine, created the film, which was produced by Norman, Jonathan Lia of Good Company, and Whitney Jackson. Spike Jordan and Maxime Quoilin, noted for their high, thought-provoking conceptual direction and ability to generate dynamic, groundbreaking images, collaborated on Game Change Game.

Wilson, the NBA and WNBA’s official game ball supplier, is teaming up with Dreamville, one of the most popular and powerful entertainment brands today, to stage a four-week tournament in Wilson’s hometown of Chicago as part of its commitment to the basketball community.

“Last year’s Chi-League was a tremendous success, showcasing local basketball talent and bringing the city of Chicago together through sport,” said Kevin Murphy, General Manager, Wilson Team Sports. “We’re always happy to give back and produce events in the city Wilson has called home since 1914. Continuing our partnership with Dreamville, we know this year’s extended schedule featuring both men and women will truly be something special.”

The 2022 Dreamville Chi-League powered by Wilson will take place every Saturday in August at a new venue — the University of Illinois Chicago – and will include eight teams in men’s and women’s divisions. The league will hold a play-in on Aug. 6 for clubs to qualify for the three-week, single-elimination tournament, which will take place on Aug. 13, 20, and 27. International stars, past collegiate stars, local legends, and current NBA players such as Darius Garland, Kendrick Nunn, Keifer Sykes, and others are expected to return to the league.

“We are excited to be back this summer. The Chi-League helps to further unite our brand with the beloved city of Chicago by intersecting entertainment, sports and community,” said Candace Rodney, Dreamville EVP. “Following the success of last year’s inaugural pro-am, especially the nail-biting end to the men’s championship game, Dreamville and Wilson are coming bigger and better to produce another amazing tournament year.”

Throughout August, Wilson will release limited-edition Dreamville products to honor Chicago communities, carrying on their long-standing basketball history and the music industry’s vital role in sports culture. As part of its national cooperation with the YMCA of the USA, Wilson and Dreamville will once again collaborate to provide community involvement opportunities, including youth basketball clinics. During Chi-League, Wilson will expand local programming at the South Side YMCA, Rauner Family YMCA, and Kelly Hall YMCA, all of which are part of the YMCA of Metropolitan Chicago.

“Last season was the best pro-am I’ve been a part of, and I couldn’t be more excited to see what’s in store for this season,” said Antoine Walker, Chi-League Coach, and three-time NBA All-Star. “The history of this league is something to be celebrated and I’m proud to see its continued success.”

SOURCE SPORTS: LeBron James Says of the Two Finals Teams He Would Play for the Golden State Warriors

Ruffles Ruffles DNA TVC LeBron Image

LeBron James must really want to play with Stephen Curry before his career is over. When asked what NBA superstar he wanted to play with, James didn’t hesitate with his answer. Off the rip, he said, “Steph Curry.”

He’s back at giving hints of joining the Warrior dynasty. In the preview trailer for the upcoming episode of HBO’s The Shop, James said the Warriors are the one remaining playoff team he’d join.

“It’d be Golden State. I would love getting into a pissing match with Draymond [Green]; I love when somebody cusses me out,” James said.

Prior to LeBron making this statement about joining Golden State, he appeared on The Shop and said he wanted to play with Steph. He even gave his reason why.

“In today’s game, s–t, there some motherf–kers in today’s game, but Steph Curry,” James said on The Shop. “Steph Curry is the one that I want to play with for sure in today’s game. … I love everything about that guy. Lethal. Steph, when he get out his car, you better guard him right from the moment he pulls up to the arena. Soon as he get out of his car, you better guard his ass.”

Could you imagine LeBron and Steph Curry on the same squad? The best shooter ever with arguably the best player ever? Well, Chef Curry couldn’t imagine it either. He quickly shut down the idea of him and James teaming up.

“Well, he’s got his wish,” Curry said on 95.7 The Game (h/t NBC Sports). “When he’s the captain, he’s picked me the last two All-Star Games. I don’t know if that suffices, but I’m good right now. Whenever you get the interest or curiosity of what it would be like to play with the MVP-caliber dude that he is, one of the greatest of all time, it’s cool. That’s amazing. We all can live in that fantasy world.”

LeBron James Family Foundation Is Building a New Medical Facility in Akron, OH

LeBron James Davis

When LeBron James coined the phrase “Strive For Greatness,” he wanted to lead by example on and off the court. If you have a love for the game of basketball, then you know what the four-time NBA champion has accomplished. It’s the “King’s” off-the-court deeds that need attention.

In LBJ’s latest act of philanthropy, The LeBron James Family Foundation announced plans to build a new health facility in Akron. The multi-million dollar I Promise HealthQuarters facility will offer medical, dental, mental health, and optometry services. The facility will provide an on-site lab and a pharmacy as well.

The I Promise HealthQuarters will be available for all of Ohio. It’ll just be located in James’s hometown of Akron. The facility is set to open in 2023, and although the facility is named after his I Promise school, the services provided are for more than students.

LeBron took it to Twitter to announce his excitement to give back.

The LeBron James Family Foundation partnered with AxessPointe Community Health Partners to bring them to life. It’s reported that they have been working on the $3 million-plus project for months.

“The greatest wealth for a community is good health,” said Mark Frisone, executive director of AxessPointe. “The (LeBron James Family) Foundation understands this for the community.”

Along with the medical facility and I Promise School, the foundation has also opened House Three Thirty and the I Promise Village. House Three Thirty is a workforce training facility, and the I Promise Village provides transitional housing for families impacted by various challenges.

I Promise Housing offers long-term affordable housing, and the I Promise Institute at the University of Akron provides I Promise students with higher-education support.

LeBron James just became the NBA’s first-ever active billionaire player, giving back already. It’s easy to see why he’s considered the goat in the eyes of some.
