DJ Khaled Flexes His 1-Of-1 Air Jordans On “Sneaker Shopping”

DJ Khaled is someone who has proven time and time again that he loves his sneakers. Overall, Khaled has one of the most impressive collections in hip-hop. In fact, one could make the argument that his Air Jordan collection rivals that of anyone in the world. He has shown off some truly incredible colorways over the years, and he is more than happy to flex up a storm when asked. Furthermore, he has numerous collaborations with Jordan Brand, which just goes to show how far he has come.

With a new album set to release in 2024, it is safe to say that Khaled is currently in promo mode. One of his first promo stops just so happened to be with Complex’s Joe La Puma on Sneaker Shopping. Khaled has been on the show before, however, this episode was truly special. It took place at Khaled’s new We The Best Snipes superstore, which is located in the heart of Miami Beach. It is an impressive store, and if you love rare sneakers, then this place is most certainly for you.

DJ Khaled Shows Off His Store

During the episode, Khaled speaks fondly of his days as a collector before he became the success he is now. Furthermore, he touched on how he has numerous 1-of-1 sneakers that he got from “being in the meeting” with Jordan Brand. He also got to flex his latest Air Jordan 5 collection, which came out in a plethora of amazing colorways. Lastly, he got to purchase a whole bunch of sneakers at the end of the episode. He got an array of Air Jordan models and even a Nike Dunk Low for good measure. All-in-all, he spent a cool $2000 USD at his own store.

Fat Joe Reveals How Michael Jordan Helped His Sneaker Store

If you are a fan of Fat Joe, then you know just how big of a sneakerhead he truly is. Overall, he has a massive collection that is truly impressive. Moreover, he even has his own chain of sneaker stores called Up NYC. These stores are all over New York, and they offer the best in new sneakers and streetwear. The store continues to be a success, and the artist loves being in charge of it. But as it turns out, the road to starting the store wasn’t always easy.

Recently, the legendary artist was on The Eli Manning Show. During Fat Joe’s appearance, he spoke on how he got Up NYC up and running. As it turns out, Nike wasn’t going to let him sell their sneakers at first. In order to have a Nike contract, you need to be vetted. However, Fat Joe was able to seek out Michael Jordan, who ultimately gave him the go-ahead. Needless to say, it’s good to have connections at your disposal.

“He was like, ‘Yo, you got permission?’ I said, ‘What permission?’ He was like, ‘Nah, you gotta get sanctioned you gotta get vetted.’ I was like, ‘Nah, I thought we was cool,’” Fat Joe recounted. “That night Jordan had a party in New York. I’m up in the party and you hear this just big voice, ‘Big Joe, Big Joe.’ And I turned around and everybody looks and it’s Michael Jordan. He said, ‘Your grand opening, I’ll be there. Your grand opening, I’m there.’ The same guys that told me no ran over, ‘I guess you got a store.’”

This was great timing and it was also quite a bit of luck. However, sometimes that is necessary on your way to success.
