Macklemore Swiftly Removed From Neon City Festival Lineup Following Controversial Declaration

Macklemore has always been a fairly controversial rapper throughout his career. But since the Israel-Palestine conflict, which continues to be a major storyline, he’s become even more outspoken. In early May, the Seattle native put out “HIND’S HALL”, a pro-Palestinian track that aimed to draw more attention to something more important than a rap beef. Then, just a few days ago, the Ryan Lewis collaborator dropped of a sequel with a handful of Palestinian American artists, a Gaza native, as well as a LA Palestinian youth choir. This one speaks about resiliency through these troubling times and being there for one another.

On top of hitting the booth and speaking at rallies, Macklemore recently went onstage to perform at a Seattle festival. This event was put together to assist some aid programs such as Pious Projects, HEAL Palestine, United Nations Relief and Works Agency, and the Palestine Children’s Relief Fund. However, during his time onstage, Macklemore may have gotten a little to bold. One of the audience members got a video of him saying “f*** America”, which produced some cheers and claps, but not from the organizers with the Neon City Festival.

Macklemore Says “F*** America”

According to Pitchfork, he was scheduled to headline it, but that isn’t happening now thanks to his declaration. He has not yet broken his silence since the clip made the rounds online. However, a few local pro sports teams he’s affiliated with have. The Seattle Kraken of the NHL, Seattle Sounders FC, and the Seattle Mariners have made public statements, with all of them essentially looking into how they want to handle the matter. Sadly, for the Neon City Festival, their inaugural show is already receiving some setbacks. It is still slated to begin on November 22 and run through the 24th.

What are your thoughts on Macklemore being taken out of the Neon City Festival lineup for his “f*** America” statement? Do you think it was the right move by the organizers to do this? Do you side with the Seattle rapper’s declaration? We would like to hear what you have to say, so leave your thoughts in the comments. Russell Wilson & Pete Carroll Party After Coach’s Departure From Seattle

Russell Wilson returned to Seattle to spearhead a send-off for Pete Carroll, the coach with whom he won a Super Bowl. Wilson and wealth of other former Seahawks traveled to Seattle on short notice. This came after Carroll transitioned to an “advisory” role with the team after 14 seasons as head coach. “Grateful for all you’ve done for me, my family, teammates and so many others!” Wilson wrote on Instagram.

Carroll drafted Wilson out of Wisconsin in the third round of the 2013 Draft. Wilson was a rookie starter and helped turned the team into a powerhouse. They would miss the playoffs just over the next nine seasons. However, after an injury-plagued 7-10 2021 campaign that saw the team finish last in the division for the first time since 2000, Wilson was shipped to Denver. This led many to believe that there had been a falling out between coach and quarterback. Despite this speculation, it appears that the pair are in fact on good terms.

Broncos GM Speaks On Russell Wilson Situation

Meanwhile, Denver Broncos GM George Paton has denied that a midseason conversation about Wilson’s contract was the reason that Wilson was benched for the final two games of the NFL season. “During the bye week, I did reach out to Russ’ agent in good faith and in a creative attempt to adjust his contract. We couldn’t get a deal done and we did move on with our season. It didn’t come up again. Fast forward, Week 17, Sean makes a change at the quarterback position. This was a football decision made by Sean in what he thought was the best interest of the team. This was completely independent of any conversation I had with the agent. Again, it was a football decision,” Paton said.

Furthermore, Paton’s comments came at the same press conference in which the Broncos denied reports they were preparing to cut Wilson in the offseason. “I told him, ‘Look, I don’t think it’s going to be a long, drawn-out process,’ but it hasn’t been decided relative to what our plans are. As soon as we know something certainly, he would be the first to know,” head coach Sean Payton said. “Yeah, listen, otherwise it would have been like ‘hey, goodbye. We’ll look at all the scenarios and try to do what’s best for the Broncos. But communication will be important, and, yeah, that final decision hasn’t been made,” Payton added when asked if conversations had included a path to retain Wilson.

Drake Shoots His Shot At Fan’s Mom, Wears Her Bra On His Head

Another Drake concert, another bra-centric interaction. Drizzy is currently in Seattle for the latest stop on the It’s All a Blur tour. And of course, it wouldn’t be an IAAB show if someone didn’t throw a bra on stage. Like a kid on Christmas, Drake scampered over to the undergarment and marveled at the size. He was then informed that it was actually the fan’s mother’s bra. “Where is your momma at? You gotta send her my love, and tell her to get on Instagram,” Drake said as the crowd went wild. “This is insane, what the hell? I could use this shit as a durag tonight.” Drake then proceeded to briefly wear the bra on his head before continuing to inspect it.

“What size is this? This is insane. This might be the record-breaker. What size is this?…It’s custom. This is custom, damn. This is that OVO shit. Oh my God, I see the size! It’s a 46J. [Drake then recites the alphabet]. Damn. Shoutout to your momma, girl. Make some noise for this girl’s momma right here,” Drake went through a full-blown journey with this bra and every moment of it was hilarious.

Drake Continues The Bra Love

However, big bras are not the only thing that Drake has been speaking about in recent weeks. Fans were very disappointed to wake up on August 25, only to find that his new album, For All The Dogs, had not dropped as anticipated. This generated a lot of backlash against Drizzy as the album had been pitched as a return to “Old Drake” and also featured a track with Nicki Minaj. Despite this, Drake stayed firm in his resolve and calmly explained the situation during his first show in Seattle.

“I know everybody’s upset because I didn’t drop my album last night,” he told the crowd. “I didn’t say it was dropping last night. So don’t be mad at me. I just said it was coming soon. It’s not going to be that much longer. Trust me, you know I got shows every night. But I promise you, For All The Dogs is on the way. If you never loved anything I’ve ever done in the past, I promise you, this album will be for you.”
