Coi Leray Accuses 1801 Records Co-Founder Billy J Of Sabotaging Her Career In Furious Rant

From the outside looking in, Coi Leray is someone that doesn’t appreciate others who leech off of her success. She’s proven that when it comes to her father Benzino, who seems to not be in her life at the moment. However, the rapping/singing hybrid is now having to cut ties with someone else that has connections to the music industry. He goes by Billy J and he is the co-founder of the now non-existent 1801 Records. According to their Instagram page, it seems the company met its demise in early 2022. Nevertheless, one of its creators has apparently been pestering Coi for years trying to “to take from me for the past 5 years.”

In her Instagram rant, she says she will be going on an Instagram Live later today to expose Billy J for who is and what he’s done. “Okay so I will be going live today to explain how this guy has been trying to take over my life and ruin my career. There’s nothing in this life I want more than this guy right here to leave me alone. He has done NOTHING for my career,” Coi begins. Her gripe with Billy is that when she signed her deal with them when she was 21, she claims that “their lawyer that didn’t read me the correct terms.”

She tells her fans and Billy to “stay tuned I will be telling everything.” Kmacklive, who also had affiliation with the company, is one of the only people Coi says has been good to her and has been willing to move on “peacefully.” Before signing off, she slanders Billy once more, saying, “KMACK DOESNT EVEN WORK WITH 1801 anymore and wants nothing to do with Billy J, the only person making this s*** hard is Billy J it’s crazy how sick people can be.” Another artist who claims to have been on 1801 with Coi says that she’s had similar problems as seen above.

Beastie Boys Sued Chili’s’ Parent Company For Using ‘Sabotage’ Without Permission

Beastie Boys sued Brinker International, the parent company of the Chili’s Grill & Bar chain, for using the band’s hit song “Sabotage” in an ad without permission. The ad also allegedly used imagery from the song’s music video, further infringing on the group’s copyright.

The remaining Beasties, Adam “Ad-Rock” Horovitz and Michael “Mike D” Diamond, and the estate of their late bandmate, Adam “MCA” Yauch, filed the suit on Wednesday (July 10), seeking to block Brinker from further infringements, along with “an amount in each case of not less than $150,000 for the willful infringement of the Beastie Boys Musical Composition, and the Beastie Boys Sound Recordings.”

Among the violations, they say, are social media videos “significant portions of the musical composition and sound recording of ‘Sabotage’” and said that the video featured “three characters wearing obvious 70s-style wigs, fake mustaches, and sunglasses who were intended to evoke the three members of Beastie Boys” — the most prominent features of the original “Sabotage” video. While the song has been used in a slew of television shows and films (including the 2009 Star Trek and its sequel, Star Trek Beyond, an episode of Family Guy, and in the game Fortnite), a provision in MCA’s will prohibits its use in commercials with rare exceptions.

As is expected for any massive trek, Nicki Minaj’s Pink Friday 2 world tour hasn’t been without its hiccups here and there. However, the Trinidadian superstar insinuated on Twitter on Wednesday night (April 17) that something more malicious was taking place to “sabotage” her concerts. For those unaware, she arrived later than expected at her Montreal show that night due to flight delays and cancellations, plus processes upon arrival that she explains in the tweet below.

“Yesterday my flight scheduled for midnight shut their plane down @ 12:58pm,” Nicki Minaj tweeted. “Never in 15 years have I heard of anything like that. A 70K G4 and thought we were going to PAY THEM for that flight as well as whatever flight I’d have to get on next. They thought wrong.
