Comethazine Shocks Fans With Transition Into Rock Music Following Two-Year Hiatus

Comethazine is an artist who burst onto the scene back in 2018 with his now-iconic track “Walk.” At the time, the song was known for its incredible music video that came courtesy of Lyrical Lemonade. Furthermore, the track had skeletal production and murderous bars that made the artist come across as a sociopath. Overall, it was a recipe for success that carried over into the artist’s Bawskee projects. For five years, Comethazine remained consistent with his craft, until he just up and left with no explanation.

Yesterday, Comethazine made his return to Instagram for the first time in two years. Fans were pretty stunned to hear from him, however, it was nice to know that he’s doing alright. In fact, it appears as though the artist has come through with a rebrand of sorts. He is now rocking a mustache and is dressing like a ’70s rockstar. Additionally, it looks like he’s been taking some guitar lessons. In the video down below, Comethazine can be heard playing a lick, and it sounds pretty amazing.

Comethazine Is Trying Something New

As you can imagine, social media was flooded with fans who were shocked by the change. When you think about Comethazine’s early work, it’s hard to imagine him pivoting this hard. That said, it is always cool to watch an artist evolve. Clearly, he has a passion for rock, and he wanted to go away for a couple of years to perfect his craft. Hopefully, he follows this up with a new song or even an album in the not-so-distant future. We’d love to know if he is exploring the rock sound further or if he is simply engaging in some well-thought-out promo.

Chaka Khan Inducted Into Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame, Celebrated By Sia, H.E.R., Common, And Jazmine Sullivan

Chaka Khan is a living legend. And now, she finally earned her rightful spot in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. The induction ceremony was held at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center was nothing short of a star-studded extravaganza. The event saw Common, H.E.R., Sia, and Jazmine Sullivan coming together to celebrate the iconic singer. Jazmine Sullivan had previously shared the stage with Chaka Khan for a performance of “I’m Every Woman” at the 2017 Essence Festival. She took the stage at the ceremony to deliver a heartfelt induction speech. Sullivan paid homage to Khan’s extraordinary voice. Rolling Stone reported that Sullivan said, “That voice, as raw as it is sweet, as sensual as it is soulful, has guided us through good times and bad. Through meet-ups and breakups, through desire and despair, through hard times and higher love.”

In a speech, Sullivan shared a moment of vulnerability. Sullivan told a personal anecdote about Khan reaching out to her mother when she was in remission from breast cancer. This compassionate gesture deeply touched Sullivan’s family and solidified Khan’s special place in their hearts. Sullivan also acknowledged Khan’s remarkable 50-year career. She emphasized her unmatched artistry, timeless hits, and the lasting influence she has had on generations of artists. Sullivan made sure to emphasize the impact, especially women in the industry. While it’s no secret that Khan has been skeptical of singers of this generation, calling them insecure, it’s clear that she’s formed a bond with a few up-and-coming artists.

Chaka Khan Brings Out H.E.R.

The festivities of the night continued with a medley of Chaka Khan’s greatest hits. In order to honor her, Common led the way with the first tribute and performed “I Feel for You.” Next up, H.E.R. then took the spotlight, captivating the audience with interpretations of Rufus classics such as “Ain’t Nobody” and “Sweet Thing.” Sia, renowned for her unique style, brought the celebration to a close with a remarkable performance of Khan’s iconic anthem, “I’m Every Woman.” It seemed like an incredible evening that truly celebrated Khan’s multiple Rock Hall finalist nominations over the years, officially inducting her into the esteemed Class of 2023.

Chaka Khan’s induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame not only recognizes her monumental contributions to the music industry but also celebrates her enduring legacy, profound influence, and timeless artistry. Pusha T Shares His Thoughts On Kanye West And Kid Cudi’s Beef: ‘It F*cking Sucks’

Kanye West and Kid Cudi had a very public fallout at the top of the year, just weeks before Kanye released his eleventh album Donda 2. Their beef, which is still alive today, was centered on Kanye’s frustration with Cudi and Pete Davidson’s friendship, and because of that, Kanye announced that Cudi would not appear on Donda 2. More recently, Kanye and Cudi appeared together on Pusha T’sRock N Roll” on his newly-released It’s Almost Dry album, leaving many to believe that the two patched up their differences. However, Cudi made it clear that the beef was very much alive.

In a recent interview with Vulture, Pusha T shared his thoughts on Kanye and Cudi’s fallout. “It f*cking sucks,” Pusha said. “You know Cudi is my f*cking brother to the end. Just navigating these relationships, this brotherhood, the arguing … it gets public.” He continued, “It’s one thing for us to argue. We all argue — that’s not a problem. It gets out there, whether it’s Ye bickering first, or Cudi coming back with what he says. It’s super-fu**ed up.”

Pusha later recalled the “great energy” that was in the studio when the trio collaborated for “Rock N Roll,” a record that samples Beyonce’s “1+1.” “The day we made this record, everybody was so f*cking happy,” he said. “Ye’s chopping the Beyoncé sample, Cudi happens to come in that day. We see each other, and I hadn’t seen him in a while. He’s like, ‘I gotta get on a record. Are you crazy?’ Cudi did, like, three or four different references. Beyoncé cleared the sample. There was so much great energy around the making of that record.”

Kanye West Raps About Family On Multiple Tracks From Pusha T’s New Album, ‘It’s Almost Dry’

While most of Kanye West’s new music these days is locked behind his Stem Player, a couple of streaming-friendly Ye tracks surfaced today via Pusha T’s new album, It’s Almost Dry: He features on “Dreamin Of The Past” and “Rock N Roll.”

In a line from “Dreamin Of The Past,” West references the biblical birth of Jesus Christ before seemingly reflecting on his status as a divorced parent, saying, “Born in the manger, the son of a stranger / When daddy’s not home, the family’s in danger.”

Then, on “Rock N Roll,” Ye appears to address apparent issues he and Kim Kardashian have had co-parenting their children in recent months, saying, “Finally tired of comin’ and goin’, make up your mind / I ain’t come to pick up the kids to pick a fight.”

In January, West claimed he was blocked from visiting his kids at Kardashian’s because Pete Davidson was there. The next month, he said Kardashian didn’t allow him to bring their kids to a basketball game. In March, Kardashian asked West to leave the topic alone in the public eye, commenting on an Instagram post of his, “Please stop with this narrative, you were just here this morning picking up the kids for school.”

“Rock N Roll,” by the way, is the song both West and Kid Cudi appear on. A few days ago, Cudi tweeted of the track, “I did this song a year ago when I was still cool w Kanye. I am not cool w that man. He’s not my friend and I only cleared the song for Pusha cuz thats my guy. This is the last song u will hear me on w Kanye.”
