Who Is Opening Kali Uchis’ ‘Red Moon In Venus Tour Pt. 2?’

A few months ago, Kali Uchis revealed that she was heading to a handful of cities on the West Coast for her new Red Moon In Venus Pt. 2 Tour.

Tied to her latest album, Uchis will be performing at her first headlining arena dates in cities like Sacramento, Las Vegas, El Paso, and more. Her first show is this Friday (September 22) at San Diego’s Viejas Arena.

She is also bringing along Tokischa as an opening act. Here’s what fans need to know about the musician before they go.

Tokischa Altagracia Peralta, most known to fans by her first name, is a Dominican musician and is 27 years old. She first debuted back in 2018 with her song “Picala” which featured Tivi Gunz. After it reached a million views in a week, Tokischa returned with “Que Viva” that November. By January of 2019, her song “Perras Como Tú” appeared on a film soundtrack for Miss Bala: Merciless.

Tokischa’s first EP, Freestyle #007, arrived later in 2019. In the years since then, she’s stayed extremely busy. Most recently, Tokischa appeared on “Hung Up On Tokischa” last September, which was a remix of Madonna’s “Hung Up.”

Kali Uchis And Her Ladies Get All Dolled-Up In Her New ‘Moonlight’ Video

Ahead of another glamorous performance at Coachella, Kali Uchis has shared the video for “Moonlight,” a fan-favorite from her third studio album, Red Moon In Venus.

In the video for “Moonlight,” the camera zooms in on a dollhouse, in which, Uchis and a group of her lady friends are seen getting glammed-up with make-up, preparing Uchis for a special night with a certain somebody.

“I just wanna get high with my lover / Veo una muñeca cuando miro en el espejo / Kiss, kiss / Looking dolly, I think I may go out tonight / I just wanna ride, get high in the moonlight,” Uchis sings over a smooth, romantic track.

Later in the video, she is seen dancing on the hood of a car, as she is floating on top of a space river near the moon — fitting for an out-of-this-world performance. Shortly after, a Uchis makes a return to the dollhouse, peering through the window, as if up to something exciting.

Uchis will perform tomorrow night (April 23) on the Coachella stage. She is also set to kick off her Red Moon In Venus tour this coming Tuesday (April 25) in Austin, Texas. During select dates on her upcoming tour, Uchis will be supported by UK pop artist, RAYE.

In the meantime, you can watch the dreamy “Moonlight” video above.

Kali Uchis & Summer Walker Make Magic On “Deserve Me” Collab Track

Just because the snow is melting and cuffing season is coming to an end doesn’t mean we’re ready for a break from R&B. In recent weeks we’ve heard plenty of smooth releases from the genres leading ladies and gentlemen, including Masego’s self-titled album, and Tink’s Thanks 4 Nothing. This New Music Friday (March 3), Kali Uchis also came through with a new album, titled Red Moon In Venus, which arguably includes some of her best work to date.

The 15-track release was preceded by singles such as “Moonlight” and “Fantasy,” the vocalists’ collaborative effort with her Houston-born beau, Don Toliver. He released a project this year as well, in February, which found Uchis lending her talents to his “4 Me” song. Other friends who helped out the 28-year-old include Omar Apollo and Summer Walker.

R&B Darlings Kali Uchis and Summer Walker Come Together for “Deserve Me”

The former, who’s been on the road touring with SZA as of late, appears on track three, “Worth the Wait.” Where the magic really happens, however, is on track thirteen, where Uchis and the mother of three come together on “Deserve Me.” This marks the two artist’s first time working together musically, and we certainly hope it won’t be their last.

“I like it better when you’re gone / I feel a little less alone / You know I never needed you / Didn’t deserve me,” the Colombian sweetly sings on the chorus. To begin her verse, Walker’s voice rings out, “You don’t deserve the love I give you / Make me wanna take the p*ssy back / You don’t even know how to act.”

Stream Kali Uchis’ “Deserve Me” collaboration with Summer Walker on Spotify or Apple Music below. Afterward, find the former’s full Red Moon In Venus album here. Make sure to check back tomorrow for more release recommendations on our R&B Season playlist.

Quotable Lyrics:

You just don’t get it or maybe you just got used to me
Do you know how many motherf*ckers want this p*ssy exclusively?
You ain’t the only one tryna be the only one
Wise up, man, ’cause you’re lookin’ real dumb
