Fivio Foreign‘s debut album B.I.B.L.E. came out in April, but he’s wisely kept promoting it over the last two months, keeping it visible even with all the high-profile projects that have been dropping lately. The latest video he’s released from the album is for “What’s My Name,” the Destiny’s Child-sampling fifth track, which also features fellow rising stars Queen Naija and Uproxx’s latest cover artist, Coi Leray. While Naija sing-raps her verse, Coi delivers hers in her now-signature clipped-but-melodic cadence. In the video, the three wear matching camouflage outfits while performing for rowdy crowds while Coi lounges with a python.
Since dropping B.I.B.L.E., Fivio’s appeared in the video for Nicki Minaj’s “We Go Up,” assisted Antonio Brown on his new album Paradigm, teamed up with another drill artist, Kay Flock, to release “Make A Movie,” and released his own video for another of his album’s more soulful singles, “Hello,” featuring Chloe and KayCyy. Meanwhile, Queen Naija is four months removed from her latest single, “Hate Our Love” featuring Big Sean, and Coi Leray has already dropped a new single of her own, “Involved,” after pushing back her Trendsetter tour to add more dates.

“Goodbye,” a brand-new Amazon Original song by BLEU, has been released. The never-before-heard song finds BLEU delivering a smoldering collaboration with R&B sensation Queen Naija as part of Amazon Music’s “Credit the Culture” celebration of Black Music Month.
“With this record I hope my fans get to see the real side of a love story that can’t be saved,” said BLEU about the track. “Real R&B that meets real emotion and heartache. Queen was able to bring that raw emotion from the ladies’ perspective and I was able to keep it real for the guys.”
Additional Amazon Originals from some of the most intriguing new artists will be released as part of “Credit the Culture,” including rising R&B singer and Bel Air actor Coco Jones; artist, producer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist bLAck pARty; and more. In a recent sit down with The Breakfast Club, Queen Naija spoke about who she wants to collab with in the industry, her recent collaboration with Fivio Foreign, and some internet jokes that bother the 26-year-old artist.
During the interview, Naija explained the love she receives on each platform, excluding the bluebird app. “I get lots of love everywhere but Twitter bruh, they cannot stand me,” she stated.
“They blame me for something that happened between a whole other situation. They blamed me because Nicki couldn’t go live or something before they said its all your fault. Its a trend. Literally, when I be looking at the quoted tweets, everybody’s laughing. It’s like I’m the joke of Twitter.”
“They said I told Chris the joke, I said ‘what is going on?’” Naija continued, referring to the infamous Oscars slap.
While Naija states that some tweets do bother her, for the most part, the singer says that she can laugh at the jokes after understanding that “some people really don’t like me. Just a small percentage right. Then its just that bandwagon thing that everybody likes to jump on because they want to be seen or feel popular or get likes or follows. Its like a trend to dislike me, and honestly I think they really do like me though. You speak about me so much so you must like me.”
We love to see Queen not let the internet’s negativity affect her! She also spoke about shooting her shot in hopes of collaborating with Drake on a track. “Ima say this because usually to be honest with y’all, I don’t try to say big artist because it was a point where I felt like I’m too small or I can’t reach them but you never know what happens, so I would love to do a song with Drake one day,” the singer stated.
While she may have gotten her respect in the Youtube world, Queen Naija is also coming for her respect in the music game. In October 2020, the 26-year-old singer would release her debut album “Misunderstood” through Capitol Records. The 16 track album is most notable for songs like “Lie to Me,” “I’m Her,” “Too Much To Say,” “Pack Lite,” and more.
While Queen has been proving herself on her tracks, she is also proving herself on features, as she recently appeared on Fivio Foreign’s debut album, BIBLE. Queen Naija, Fivio Foreign, and Coi Leray would link up for a collab, sampling Destiny Child’s 1999 classic “Say My Name” single, titled “What’s my Name.”
In a video that the singer reposted, two men who seemed to be reviewing Fivio’s long-awaited album appeared to mistake the Detroit singer for New Jersey native Coi Leray on the single. “LMFAO its so funny how alot of people thought my part was Coi Leray’s,” she wrote with laughing emojis. “That just goes to show yall I can GET IN THAT BAG when I need to #versatilemami.”
“I could do anything y’all gotta know that. I could do old school R&B, I could do gospel, I could do DRILL, I could do country, hell I could even do punk rock. I haven’t shown ppl that because I’m still trying to make my mark here & set the tone, a lot of people slept on misunderstood and that’s okay. Just means I gotta start playing the game. When you too humble they don’t respect you!!! QN2 in the making..” she continued.
Queen Naija and Big Sean have plenty in store for their fan in 2022. Last year, Naija dropped a deluxe reissue of her debut Missunderstood, which added seven songs and featured guest appearances from Ari Lennox, Wale, and J.I. The Prince Of NY. Big Sean, meanwhile, teamed up with Hit-Boy for What You Expect, which boasted contributions from Bryson Tiller, Lil Durk, Babyface Ray, and 42 Dugg. Earlier this month, Queen Naija and Big Sean teamed up for their first collaboration with “Hate Our Love” and they recently delivered a music video.
Its set in New York City during its autumn months and begins with an intro from DJ Envy from The Breakfast Club. After spending time apart, Naija and Sean eventually reunite to stand together and dismiss those who hope their love will fall apart. The video arrives after Sean used an Instagram livestream with Naija to reveal some news about upcoming music.
“I’m here working on [a] new album and new TWENTY88, me and Jhené,” Sean said during the livestream. “Sh*t, we’ve been working on it for a little bit… It’s coming along good, though.”
You can watch the video for “Hate Our Love” above.
Some artists covered here are Warner Music artists. Uproxx is an independent subsidiary of Warner Music Group.
Queen Naija and Big Sean both released full-length projects in 2020 with Missundertsood and Detroit 2, respectively. Queen Naija’s Missundertsood served as her official debut album complete with 18 songs and features from Kiana Lede, Lil Durk, Lucky Daye, Toosii, Latto, and more. Big Sean’s Detroit 2 was his fifth album and it arrived after he went almost more than three years without dropping a full-length project. Nowadays, both acts are surely working on their body of work, but until it arrives, you can enjoy their first collaboration, “Hate Our Love.”
Together, Queen Naija and Big Sean aim to rise above the hate they feel around them and prove the doubters of romance wrong. They both detail a love that remains solid between the two of them, but the noise from outside individuals proves to be a bit of a nuisance. Rather than let it tear them apart, Queen Naija and Big Sean strive to win and beat all the odds.
“Hate Our Love” arrives less than a year after Queen Naija released an extended version of Missundertsood with seven additional songs, Missundertsood… Still. It also presented quest appearances from Ari Lennox, Wale, and J.I. The Prince Of NY. Last fall, Big Sean connected with Hit-Boy for their project, What You Expect which delivered six songs with features from Lil Durk, Bryson Tiller, 42 Dugg, and Babyface Ray.

Silver Springs, Maryland is such a warm dedicated crowd that isn’t hard to impress. With a top-10 album and multiple singles that have topped the R&B charts, Queen Naija is a star. There was a point not too long ago, though, where she was a YouTuber facing struggles while trying to make music work as her primary vocation. She speaks about that part of her life in the newest Backstage episode.
Opening up about how public perception of her was an issue initially, Naija reveals she had doubters who didn’t think she was capable of doing more than YouTube.
“My name is Queen. I look at my name as royal, I look at myself as powerful,” she says in the clip. “But as soon as you start to get a name for yourself, people dig up dirt about you. Saying very cruel things: I’m not built for the industry life, I need to get media training, I need to talk better.” Thankfully, she has found herself more and more able to deal with critics, saying, “In this industry, you can’t care about what people think, and it’s hard for me. I literally want everybody in the whole world to like me, but the truth is they won’t, and that’s something I’ve had to overcome.”
Naija has certainly persevered through a lot and proven she is able to adapt to different situations: Shortly after signing a record deal, she toured in support of her self-titled 2018 EP while she was eight months pregnant. It’s her level of dedication that is helping Naija make her way to the top.
Naija tells her story best, so watch her do just that in the video above, in which she also talks about scrapping what was originally going to be her debut album.
