The Detroit Pistons have officially revealed their 2024-25 Nike NBA City Edition uniforms, a tribute to the legendary “Bad Boys” era that brought back-to-back NBA Championships in 1989 and 1990. The design incorporates a “bone” color with a skull and crossbones theme, paying homage to the iconic logo that defined Pistons’ toughness.

Key details include a “Pistons” wordmark across the chest with vintage orange numbers and an orange side stripe featuring a monochromatic “89-90” repeat pattern. Honoring Coach Chuck Daly, who led the Pistons to two titles and three Finals appearances, the jersey’s jock tag includes a “back-2-back” emblem with Daly’s signature.

The Pistons will wear the City Edition uniforms 13 times this season, starting with “City Edition Nights” at home on November 18. These games will feature a custom “Bad Boys” court design showcasing classic script at center court and crackled logos on the baselines. Alongside the jerseys, a new “Detroit Bad Boys” collection—including jerseys, t-shirts, hoodies, and crewnecks—is available at Pistons313shop.com and The Team Store at Little Caesars Arena.

Giannis Antetokounmpo Shatters Records in Historic 59-Point Performance Against Pistons

Giannis Antetokounmpo delivered a historic performance on Wednesday night, leading the Milwaukee Bucks to a thrilling 127-120 victory over the Detroit Pistons, all while his co-star, Damian Lillard, was sidelined. Standing at center court after the game, Giannis reiterated a message he’s been telling his team: “Don’t take moments for granted … When guys can’t play and your number is called, go out there for the team, play the right way, and good things will happen.”

Giannis did just that, delivering the highest-scoring performance of the season with 59 points, 14 rebounds, seven assists, and three blocks, overcoming an 18-point deficit and forcing overtime. His dominant display helped the Bucks secure the win, as he shot 21-of-34 (61.8%) from the field.

In doing so, Giannis made NBA history, becoming the first player since 1973-74 to record 59+ points, 14+ rebounds, 7+ assists, and 3+ blocks on at least 60% shooting. It was also a milestone in Bucks history, as Giannis surpassed Kareem Abdul-Jabbar for the most 50+ point, 10+ rebound games in franchise history, with nine. Only Wilt Chamberlain and Elgin Baylor have more such performances.

The game showcased Giannis’ resilience and leadership. He scored 22 of the Bucks’ 24 first-quarter points and added 11 in overtime, single-handedly outscoring the Pistons 9-0 in the extra period, capped by a game-sealing slam. His unforgettable performance proved that Giannis is more than capable of carrying his team to victory when called upon.

Isaiah Stewart Speaks On Viral Fight, Apologizes To Teammates

Isaiah Stewart has broken his silence on his viral fight with Drew Eubanks. “First and foremost,” he said, “I apologize to my teammates — just the organization. Because I always want to represent the organization in a great fashion. I’m ready to just get back out here,” he said, “and compete and win these games,” Stewart told TMZ. Stewart served a three-game suspension, and was briefly on the hook for an assault charge, for punching Eubanks in the face.

Stewart returned from his suspension earlier this week, scoring 11 points in the Pistons’ win over Chicago. The ninth win of the Pistons’ season, the result snapped a six-game losing streak for Detroit. The team is next in action on Friday against a high-flying Cavaliers team. The Pistons are odds-on favorites to earn the first-overall pick in this year’s NBA Draft. However, while terrible, the Pistons have avoided setting the record for the worst record in NBA history.

Isaiah Stewart, Pistons To Face White-Hot Cavaliers

However, the Cavaliers are coming off a huge performance. Max Strus stunned the NBA on Tuesday night as he hit a half-court buzzer-beater to lead the Cavaliers past the Mavericks. With 2.1 seconds remaining, Strus heaved a shot from 59 feet, barely seeing his shot go in as he was tackled by his teammates. Strus’ shot is the second-longest shot of the three-point era, sitting behind Devonte’ Graham’s 2021 61-footer. However, Strus himself has admitted that this isn’t even the longest shot of his career. “Yeah, at my Division II school, I made a three-quarter-court shot to win the game,” Strus said.

Two of the biggest reactions to Strus’ shot came from outside of Cleveland. “Ain’t no way,” Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes said on X, tagging teammate (and Cleveland native) Travis Kelce. “🗣Straight cash!!! Them boys got the juice right now!! @cavs 🔥🔥🔥,” Kelce responded. The Cavs are currently 38-20 and first in their division. They are seen as an outside Finals contender.

Isaiah Stewart Arrested After Drew Eubanks Altercation

Isaiah Stewart of the Detroit Pistons was briefly arrested after allegedly punching Drew Eubanks of the Phoenix Suns during a pre-game confrontation. Police say Stewart was issued a citation and released. While he did not play in the Suns’ win, he had already been ruled out due to a pre-existing ankle injury. Eubanks said the incident occurred when he was entering the arena. According to the Suns player, a verbal altercation led to the players being “chest to chest” before Stewart threw a punch.

“The attack on Drew Eubanks was unprovoked, and acts of violence such as this are unacceptable. We unequivocally support Drew, and will continue to work with local law enforcement and the NBA,” the Suns said in a statement. However, Pistons coach Monty Williams, who was fired by the Suns last offseason, criticized the organization for weighing in. “The thing is to get all of the information. The NBA will do an investigation. For me to come here and make a statement would be a bit irresponsible. I know the Suns said it was unprovoked; I think that is irresponsible for sure. You really don’t know. That did not need to happen. There is a time for the information to be gathered, and then you can make a statement,” Williams said.

Who Are Isaiah Stewart & Drew Eubanks?

Isaiah Stewart was picked in the first round of the 2020 draft by the Blazers before being dealt to the Pistons. A five-star recruit coming out of high school, Stewart had a decent one-and-done season for a mediocre Washington Huskies team. He has steadily grown into an important role player for Detroit, starting 71 games for them last season. However, this is not the first time he has found himself in trouble. In 2021, Stewart served a two-game suspension following an on-court altercation with LeBron James.

Meanwhile, Drew Eubanks is an undrafted success story. After three seasons at Oregon State, Eubanks went undrafted in 2018. However, he impressed in the Summer League and signed a two-way contract with the Spurs. After making little impact under Coach Popp, Eubanks was sent to the Raptors in a trade-and-waive deal. Subsequently, he signed with the Blazers and became an impact bench asset, appearing in 78 games last season. He joined the Suns in the 2023 offseason.

The Detroit Pistons left their NBA record-losing streak in 2023. On Saturday (Dec. 30), the Pistons squeaked a 129-127 win over the Toronto Raptors. The now 3-29 Pistons were led by Cade Cunningham’s 30 points and 12 assists.

“I feel amazing,” Cunningham said. “We just kept battling. It’s been a long stretch, all these losses, but I’m just happy to be part of a group of guys who don’t quit.”

“I’m just so happy we were able to get that,” said Jalen Duren, who added 18 points and 17 rebounds. “We’ve been fighting hard for a couple of months to get one, and we’ve been through a lot of adversity.”

Up next for the Pistons is a matchup against the Houston Rockets on New Year’s Day.

Pistons Fans Rejoice As Team Losing Streak Ends At 28

With a 129-127 victory over the Toronto Raptors on Saturday night, the Detroit Pistons ended their historic losing streak at 28. Cade Cunningham had 30 points and 12 assists as the Pistons’ streak ended as the longest single-season streak in NBA history and tied for the all-time losing streak. “I feel amazing. We just kept battling. It’s been a long stretch, all these losses, but I’m just happy to be part of a group of guys who don’t quit,” Cunningham said following the win. Meanwhile, Pistons rejoiced on social media, noting they could finally redeem the Wingstop promotion that had been cruelly mocking them for 28 games.

Toronto, playing short-handed in the second game of a back-to-back scheduling decision, pushed the Pistons until the final whistle. Toronto was without franchise cornerstone O.G. Annuoby, who had been traded earlier in the day. However, the return, which included former third-overall pick RJ Barrett, was not available for the game against Detroit. “It was a very emotional day for everyone. I’m really proud of the energy our guys had, taking everything into account. I also don’t want to take anything away from what Detroit did. They played a really good game and hit some very, very timely shots,” Raptors coach Darko Rajakovic said.

LeBron Goes Viral But Lakers Fall

On the other side of the country, LeBron James went viral as the Lakers prepared to play the Timberwolves. A short video showed LeBron greeting each of his teammates with a personalized greeting, typically with a unique handshake. Everyone appeared in high spirits, suggesting the occurrence to be a regular thing to hype the team before a big game. Examples of LeBron’s handshakes include mustaches and head pats.

However, the Lakers were deflated following a controversial finish to the subsequent loss to Minnesota. Trailing 107-104, LeBron hit what he thought was a game-tying three. However, the bucket was ruled as a two and the Lakers would go on to lose 108-106 after Anthony Edwards drew a game-sealing foul. “What the hell do we got replay for? What do we have replay for if even the replay gets it wrong? It’s just like, who is a part of the replay center? Like, do we got robots in there making Teslas? Like, what’s going on?” LeBron lamented, discussing the NBA’s replay system.

Detroit Pistons Finally Snap Historic Losing Streak

The Detroit Pistons have finally won a game after losing a record-breaking 28 straight. They defeated the Toronto Raptors 129-127 after the team traded O.G. Anunoby, Precious Achiuwa, and Malachi Flynn to the New York Knicks earlier in the day. While they received RJ Barrett and Immanuel Quickley in exchange, neither were ready to play in time for the game.

“I feel amazing,” Pistons star Cade Cunningham said after the win. “We just kept battling. It’s been a long stretch, all these losses, but I’m just happy to be part of a group of guys who don’t quit.” Cunningham finished with 30 points and 12 assists. His teammate, Jalen Duren, added on 18 points and 17 rebounds. “I’m just so happy we were able to get that,” Duren said as noted by ESPN. “We’ve been fighting hard for a couple of months to get one, and we’ve been through a lot of adversity.”

The win didn’t come easy for the Pistons. With less than six minutes remaining, Cunningham and Jaden Ivey nailed back-to-back three-pointers to extend the lead to 110-99. Toronto then made a push in the following minutes, narrowing the score to 126-122 with 17 seconds left, but Detroit held on. “I’ve been in a ton of locker rooms my whole life, but that’s a first for me,” Pistons coach Monty Williams said. “Guys were screaming. I was almost in tears. I’m just so happy for our guys and for everyone in the locker room.”

Cade Cunningham Discusses The Win

With the win, the Pistons are now 3-29 on the season, leaving them in last place in the Eastern Conference standings. Be on the lookout for further updates on the NBA season on HotNewHipHop.

Pistons Tie All-Time Losing Streak After Blowing 21-Point Lead To Boston

The Pistons extended their losing streak to 28 games, tying the all-time North American record, in heartbreaking fashion. The Pistons had a 19-point lead over the Celtics, 14-0 at home, going into the half. However, the Celtics surged in the third quarter, completely erasing the deficit entering the final frame. Despite this, the Pistons managed to hang with the Celtics throughout the final quarter, forcing overtime. But an end to the losing wasn’t to be as Boston outscored Detroit 20-14 to stay undefeated at home.

“I just told them that it takes a lot of character and integrity to do what they’re doing. I’ve been in the league for a while, and I’ve seen teams give into circumstances that are less than what we’re dealing with. That was admirable. I hurt for them. We feel like we’re just getting so close to not just winning one game but winning a lot of games if we play that way,” Pistons head coach Monty Williams said. Cade Cunningham had 31 points, with Jaden Ivey also reaching 22. However, it wasn’t enough to overcome the combined 66 from Jayson Tatum and Kristaps Porzingis.

Pistons Keep Searching For Next Win

With the game wrapped up with a Porzingis dunk, the Pistons went back to the drawing board. “I’m not interested in just winning one more game this year, to stop this. That would be soft, in my opinion. I think our goals are a lot higher than that. We have what it takes to win a game. That’s nothing. But to put games together and to find our system, find what’s clicking, and allow us to sustain winning. That’s what we’re looking for right now,” Cunningham said after the game.

Next up for Detroit is a home game against the Raptors on Saturday. In a rebuild of their own, Toronto is 12-18 entering the matchup. While the Raptors are largely at full strength, the Pistons have one major advantage over the Raptors. Detroit has a rest day before they host Toronto. Meanwhile, the Raptors will play Detroit as the back-end of a back-to-back after playing Boston on Friday. Maybe that’s the edge that will stop the Pistons single-handedly taking the infamous record for themselves.

Pistons Lose 27th Game In A Row, Set Single-Season Losing Streak Record

With a 118-112 loss to the Brooklyn Nets, the Detroit Pistons lost their 27th game in a row, setting a new single-season losing streak in the NBA. Now 2-28, the Pistons haven’t won a game since their October 28 home opener. Furthermore, the Pistons are now one game shy of tying the all-time NBA record of 28, set by the Sixers over the 2014/15 and 2015/16 seasons.

Entering the game, head coach Monty Williams couldn’t help but reflect on the infamy of the streak. “Again, when you look at records, you think of coaches, but I’m sure the players don’t want that attached to the name on the jersey. Was it heavy? It’s been heavy for a while. That’s just the nature of this kind of losing streak and it’s not gonna change because we’re grading the level of it, we’ve got to do what we’ve got to do to change it,” Williams said.

Pistons Attempt To Rally In Face Of Losing Streak

After the game, rising star Cade Cunningham reportedly gave a “passionate speech” to his teammates. Cunningham, Detroit’s No. 1 pick in 2021, is the team’s leading scorer with 23 points a game. “I don’t think what I said was positivity, I think it’s just being real … there’s nothing positive about this situation right now that we put ourselves in, so that’s why we have to dig deep and get ourselves out of it. You can’t get away from it. It weighs on us every day, I mean everywhere. It weighs on us,” Cunningham told reporters.

The Pistons have two more games before the end of 2023. First, they face the Eastern Conference-leading Boston Celtics. After that, the Pistons close out the year against the 11-18 Raptors on December 30. Furthermore, members of the team bristled at fans chanting “Sell the team” during the game. “Chanting ‘sell the team,’ I thought it was a bit much because we’re growing and obviously the record and a lot of people expected us to be better in this upcoming point of the season, but we’re gonna continue to row the boat and we’re gonna forget what everybody else says, stay together and play for each other,” said Jaden Ivey.

Pistons Lose 25 In A Row, Fans Begin “Sell The Team” Chants

As the Detroit Pistons lost their 25th game in a row, fans at Little Caesars Arena began an ominous chant. “Sell the team” could be heard ringing out around the 20,300-seat venue as the Pistons fell to a short-handed Jazz team 119-111. The chants were aimed at billionaire Tom Gores, the private equity magnate who has owned the team since 2011.

Furthermore, the Pistons now sit just one loss away from tying the NBA’s losing streak record. The 26-game mark is jointly held by the 10/11 Cavs and 13/14 Sixers. Both teams went on to finish the season with a 19-63 record. However, this season’s Pistons are projected to win just 14 games. “I want to be careful with my words, because this one hurts more than most of them. A team that played last night got [50] points off turnovers and rebounds. It is unbelievably hard to understand how we can get outworked in those categories,” head coach Monty Williams said after the loss to the Jazz.

Wingstop’s Promotion With The Pistons Looking Increasingly Ridiculous

Throughout the losing streak, fans have also taken aimed at corporate partnership that the Pistons have with Wingstop. For the 2023-24 season, the restaurant had offered “five free boneless wings with every online order for every Pistons win.” However, the offers becomes more and more absurd with every loss. “Wingstop shamefully moving a little further from the scores after every loss 😭,” Bleacher Report social media programmer Molly Morrison wrote on X earlier in the team’s losing streak. Meanwhile, SB Nation engagement editor Kofie Yeboah said on TikTok that five wings were no longer an adequate deal and the number of wings needed to be raised.

Meanwhile, what little hope remains within the Pistons is quickly fading. “We’re not 2-26 bad — no way are we that bad. I think we can turn this around. We can play a much better brand of basketball. We had a chance to win it down the stretch, and we just weren’t solid enough. This is history no one wants to be a part of,” Cade Cunningham said after the team’s most recent loss. The Pistons are next in action against the Nets on Saturday. Brooklyn has lost their four games and faces the Nuggets on Friday night.
