Patrick Mahomes Sr. Reportedly Had Open Can Of Beer In His Car During Arrest

Patrick Mahomes Sr. found himself in some trouble over the weekend. According to TMZ, the father of the Kansas City Chiefs superstar was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated. The arrest went down in Texas after Mahomes Sr. was caught driving slow in traffic. He reportedly had expired tags, which is what led to the stop in the first place. However, once cops found him to be a bit intoxicated, they issued a field sobriety test and then arrested him.

This is the third time has been arrested for such an offense, which means he could be hit with a 10-year prison sentence. Despite all of this, he will be allowed to go to the Super Bowl in Las Vegas this weekend. Now, in a new update from TMZ, some more details were revealed. Essentially, Mahomes Sr. had an open can of beer in his center console. Furthermore, he had admitted to having a few beers at a bar earlier in the evening.

This is not a good situation for the Chiefs and Mahomes to be in ahead of the Super Bowl. At the end of the day, Mahomes is looking to win his third Super Bowl, and now, his father has left him with a distraction. Whether or not he can compartmentalize this, remains to be seen. Patrick Mahomes Sr Arrested On DWI: Report

Patrick Mahomes Sr, the father of Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes, has been arrested on a DWI charge. TMZ first reported that the former MLB pitcher had been arrested on his third DWI charge in Texas on Saturday night. He previously spent 40 days in jail, serving his time on the weekends, for a charge levied back in 2019. Mahomes Sr spent nearly a decade as a major league pitcher in the MLB, playing between 1992 and 2003. His son was born in 1995 while Mahomes Sr was playing for the Twins. However, after 2003, Mahomes Sr spent several years as a minor league journeyman. In 2019, his jersey was retired and he was inducted into the club Hall of Fame for the Sioux Falls Canaries.

The news comes a week before Mahomes II is due to play in the Super Bowl against the 49ers. Prior to the Conference Championship game, Mahomes Sr had joked that he wouldn’t sit next to Taylor Swift. Patrick Mahomes Responds to Viral “Dad Bod” Meme

Meanwhile, Patrick Mahomes II has responded to the viral “dad bod” meme that arose in the wake of the Chiefs AFC Championship win last weekend. “Yoooo why they have to do me like that!?!?!? 🤣🤣🤣 #DadBodSZN,” Mahomes wrote on X, formerly Twitter. The QB was responding to footage from Inside the NFL that went viral amid the Chiefs win. The footage showed a shirtless Mahomes celebrating in the locker room and the angle gave the star player a bit of a gut.

This of course went wild on NFL socials, with fans eagerly sharing the images and changing their handles to things such as “Fatty Patty” and similar names. The Chiefs leaned on their defense to shut out the Ravens in the AFC Championship Game. Mahomes threw for 241 yards and a touchdown in the win.

Patrick Mahomes Sr. Lights Up The “Philly Blunt”

Patrick Mahomes Sr. has a lot of reasons to be proud of his son. Of course, Mahomes was playing in the Super Bowl last night against the Philadelphia Eagles. Overall, this was a very entertaining game in which the Chiefs won on a last-second field goal. The final score was 38-35, and it included three touchdown passes from Mahomes. Furthermore, he ran for 44 yards which is pretty impressive when you consider how he twisted his ankle. In every way possible, this was simply a fantastic Super Bowl that fans will remember forever.

Not to mention, this is one of those games that will define Mahomes’ legacy. Now, the 27-year-old has two Super Bowl titles to his name. That puts him just two away from tying Joe Montana, and it puts him five away from Tom Brady. The chase is on and there is a real sense that he can someday smash all of the records in front of him. Patrick Mahomes Sr. certainly believes in him, and he was definitely having fun with the celebratory libations last night.

Just a couple of weeks ago, he told reporters that he was “smoking that Joe Burrow.” Subsequently, fans were excited to hear what he would say this time around. Patrick Mahomes Sr. has become a star of this Chiefs playoff run, and fans will be hoping for him to pop out at the parade.

As for his son, there is a lot to celebrate this morning. He won the second Super Bowl of his career, and it is a victory he will cherish for a long time.
