Nike SB x Air Jordan 4 “Sapphire Blue” Gets Sobering Update

If you are a fan of the Air Jordan 4, there have been plenty of reasons to be excited. Although the shoe is about to be 35 years old, it is still exceptionally popular. It is one of those shoes that is timeless. In 40 years from now, the Jordan 4 will probably still look very good on people. Overall, this is a testament to Tinker Hatfield and his exceptional contributions to the sneaker world. For years, he was able to create some amazing designs for Michael Jordan. While the Jordan 4 may not be his best, it is most definitely well within the top 5.

Recently, the Air Jordan 4 has been getting a couple of Nike SB collaborations. The color scheme that we all know at this point is the “Pine Green” offering that dropped recently. Subsequently, there is a sense that a “Bred” model could also be on the horizon. However, fans want more. This has led to a whole bunch of photoshop renderings and rumors. @zsneakerheadz on Instagram has been on top of these renderings, and one of the ones they have touted is the “Sapphire Blue,” down below.

This Air Jordan 4 Is A No-Go

On the surface, this colorway looks absolutely fantastic. Firstly, we get some nice grey suede on the overlays. Secondly, the rest of the upper is covered in white leather. Additionally, there is a lot of blue on the midsole and the back heel. Finally, we get some gum on the outsole. Unfortunately, there is nothing that will be coming from this rendering. According to @zsneakerheadz, this shoe is officially not coming out. It is a sad reality for sneakerheads who had some high hopes for this potential new sneaker.

If you are a big Nike SB fan, then these kicks are certainly going to fill you with some joy. The SB look works very well with the Air Jordan 4 silhouette, and as you can see, there is a bit of a material shift here. Firstly, the upper is mostly covered in white leather. Secondly, at the toe box, extending to the sides, we have a strip of grey suede that helps add some contrast. Additionally, green is found all the way throughout the shoe, specifically on the back heel where we get Nike SB branding.

Nike SB x Air Jordan 4 Collab Receives “Pine Green” Colorway

If you are a huge Nike SB fan, then you have seen some great shoes over the last couple of years. With Nike Dunks seeing a huge resurgence, the Nike SB brand has greatly benefitted as a whole. However, there is no denying that there is some room to innovate right now.

Overall, if there is one thing that sneakerheads love, it is sneaker collaborations. That is especially true with every brand, however, there is something about Nike SB that people go crazy for. With Jumpman under the Nike umbrella, it was only a matter of time before another SB x Jumpman sneaker made it to the market.

New Nike SB x Air Jordan 4

Last year, we reported that Nike SB and Jumpman would come through on an Air Jordan 4. Initial reports indicated that the first colorway would be a “Bred” model. Additionally, some changes would be made to the shoe so that it could be for true skaters.

Now, however, @zsneakerheadz is saying that this shoe is actually getting a second offering. The mockup for this model can be found down below, and it is simply called “Pine Green.” Overall, this makes a whole lot of sense as the shoe has a white base with green all over. Moreover, “SB” branding will be placed on the back heel as opposed to “Nike Air.”

If you are into the history of Nike and Jordan Brand, then this will be the collaboration for you. Hopefully, we get some official photos soon as that will really give us a sense of what to expect.
