Ja Morant signed a multiple-year deal with Nike back in 2019, and it looks like Nike is willing to at least see that deal out. However, after vowing to never do it again…he did it again. Overall, it has been a very bad look for Morant. He could be facing a massive suspension, and fans are curious as to what will happen. Furthermore, he had some concerning Instagram posts yesterday which led to a welfare check from the police. Although, Morant was declared to be okay.

In addition to all of this, Nike had taken the Nike Ja 1 off of its web store. Ja Morant had been killing it with his signature shoe, and fans were stunned that he would be penalized this way. That said, his upcoming Nike Ja 1 “Hunger” was still listed on the SNKRS App. This subsequently led to confusion surrounding his standing with the brand. Additionally, fans were confused if these shoes would even come out. They were slated to come out today, and as it turns out, they were, in fact, released.

According to TMZ, these shoes sold out almost immediately. There was very little stock and the price was $110 USD which is extremely affordable. Ja Morant has been in the news for all of the wrong reasons as of late. Overall, if you are an NBA fan, you know exactly what went down. After being told to quit flashing guns on Instagram, he did it again. Firstly, Morant was suspended eight games the first time he did it. However, he is now expected to be suspended for much longer. Fans are not happy at all with his behavior, with some even labeling him as a “moron.” Either way, this has been a horrible run for Ja Morant, whose Grizzlies were eliminated in the first round.

With a potential NBA suspension on the horizon, others have been interested in how this may affect his sponsorships. Of course, Morant is signed to Nike, and the brand is incredibly protective of its image. For instance, Kyrie Irving was let go by Nike after he shared an anti-Semitic film on Twitter. In regard to Nike, some have actually been critical of their support for Ja, and their lack of support for Irving. Subsequently, it now seems like Nike has taken this criticism into consideration.

According to TMZ, Nike has taken all of Ja Morant’s sneakers off of their website. There is a new Nike Ja 1 set to drop on May 25th, but for now, it remains on the website.
