DaBoii Keeps His Productivity Up With New Project “House Arrest”

SOB x RBE left its imprint on the West Coast between 2017-2019 but ultimately, the members have gone on to focus on their solo careers. Unfortunately, some of them have also been dealing with their fair share of legal trouble. Thankfully, that hasn’t deterred them completely from delivering music consistently. DaBoii’s recent stint on house arrest proved to be a productive time for the rapper and now, he’s unveiled a brand new project to show for it titled House Arrest. The project is 10 songs in total with features from OMB Peezy, Remble, ALLBLACK, Cash Kid, and Kylah Shanae.

House Arrest marks DaBoii’s second project of the year after teaming up with Slimmy B of SOB x RBE for their collaborative project, Still Gangin in August.

Portion Puts Blood, Sweat & Tears Into His New Project “I Am Nothing Without”

Back in September, Toronto’s Portion was included on our “5 New Artists You Should Hear.” By then, his single “WAVE” had been taking over the summer with spins at L.A. Lakers games and a glowing co-sign from Million Dollaz Worth Of Game co-hosts, Wallo and Gillie The King.

His major-label debut following his deal with Warner Music Canada just hit streaming services on Friday titled, I Am Nothing Without. His star potential shines over the course of the 9-song tracklist with no features attached. Singles like the aforementioned “WAVE,” “99 PRBLMS” and “TIES” are included on I Am Nothing Without.

“I am nothing without the experiences I’ve been through and this EP is music that everybody can relate to. Listeners can fill in the blank of what keeps them motivated and what makes them whole,” NF Portion said in a statement. “The music speaks for itself when you feel the pain through the storytelling of my lyrics and the championship feel of the production. I’m depicting the feeling of coming up from the bottom and what it means when pain turns to a winI Am Nothing Without represents everything I’ve sacrificed.”

Lil Reese Delivers “Supa Savage 3,” Featuring Chief Keef, Young Dolph, & More

On Friday, November 12th, Lil Reese dropped off the third instalment in his Supa Savage series, Supa Savage 3. The latest release is made up of 11 tracks, with Young Dolph, Chief Keef, and Bwuan Bans all making appearances throughout.

The project’s intro track sets the tone for what’s to come, featuring booming production followed by Reese sending out apparent threats on “Come Outside,” rapping, “Better not catch that boy outside/That boy scared don’t come outside,” as the song begins.

Of all the Supa Savage releases so far, #3 includes the least features, perhaps showing that the 28-year-old is becoming more comfortable in his own skin now, although Chief Keef made appearances on both #1 and #2, so it’s nice to see the Chicago natives link up once again.

Reese has been receiving plenty of love on the new project, reposting stories from adoring fans and friends all day long yesterday. “Go stream rn I wanna see this number shoot up on iTunes, link in bio,” he wrote on one post.

Aesop Rock & Blockhead Reunite For 14-Track Project “Garbology”

Throughout his career, Aesop Rock has frequently collaborated with producer Blockhead, but now, for the first time, the two have created an entire album together. At midnight, the artists dropped Garbology, a 14-track project that sees Aesop rap over some of his friend’s finest beats.

In the past, Blockhead has produced some of the recording artist’s most popular songs, including “None Shall Pass” and “Daylight,” and over the course of the pandemic, they had the chance to work together again. Aesop was processing the loss of a friend back in January of 2020, and felt stuck in a creative block, but once he was inspired to write again, he knew exactly who to go to for beats.

“The world got real weird during those months. I knew at some point I had to get back to making something. Make a beat. Draw a picture. Write. Just go. But the idea of making a beat felt like math homework, and drawing is just so hard. Writing is hard too, but at some point I had to pick one,” the 45-year-old explained.

The album sees just one feature from Homeboy Sandman on “All Day Breakfast.” The remainder of the release is carried solely by Aesop’s larger-than-life persona that comes through in his lyrics, and Blockhead’s unique production.
