Paul George was unavailable for the Los Angeles Clippers for the 2023 NBA Playoffs. The Clippers star suffered an injury in late March that sealed his post-season fate. However, George wasn’t the only Clippers star to miss playoff action. A sprained knee sidelined Kawhi Leonard. However, the injuries were insurmountable, as the team was sent home in the opening round by the Phoenix Suns. In a what could have been scenario for a team that has a lot of talent when at full health.

However, one Clippers star gave everything he had in the series. Russell Westbrook was a late addition to the Los Angeles roster. But quickly earned the trust of his teammates in a trying time. While Westbrook’s future with the franchise is uncertain. Although George is strong in his belief on what the team should do with Westbrook. He proved that he’s got a lot left in the tank and for a team like us, the more guys that can be versatile, the better for us. To have a playmaker, have a leader, have a score, just a floor general, a rebounder, he just covers so many holes and wears so many hats. He’s everywhere…He’s just so valuable. We saw what it looks like [and] we know it works. We know it can be successful. We gotta get him back. I want him back.”

Westbrook’s effort and talent have never been questioned. As the former Oklahoma City star has the accolades and hardware to prove it. However, since leaving OKC, Westbrook has yet to find a place to fit in. His tenures with the Rockets and Lakers were forgettable moments. But something about the Clippers could be different. Kawhi Leonard mysteriously exited the Los Angeles Clippers first-round series against the Phoenix Suns. We now know he suffered a torn meniscus in his right knee.

According to ESPN, the team and Leonard will head into the offseason developing a treatment plan. The injury occurred in Game 1 of the series and was originally believed to be a right knee sprain. Leonard played through the injury in Game 2.

ESPN also notes this is the second injury to Leonard’s knee in two of the last three playoffs. He had a partial tear in his right ACL during the 2021 Western Conference Finals.

The Atlanta Hawks were able to survive in Game 5 of their series against the Boston Celtics, bringing Game 6 to their homecourt of State Farm Arena. One issue, night two of Janet Jackson’s tour was set for the same venue.

The Hawks bumped the legendary singer’s show to Friday, but Trae Young has a special message for Ms. Jackson.

“Sorry not sorry to this LEGEND.. Hope she can be at the game now,” Young wrote.

At a point in the fourth quarter of Game 5 between the Boston Celtics and the Atlanta Hawks, the Hawks were on the ropes. Up 13, the Hawks battled back, led by Trae Young, who dropped a couple of bombs from three-point range, one securing the 119-117 victory. The Hawks got the win without Young’s superstar partner Dejounte Murray.

“I FaceTimed him as soon as I got in the locker room,” Young said. “I told him ‘Be ready.’ I told him before the game that we were going to take care of business so he can play in Atlanta.”

Young finished with 28 points, 13 assists, and four rebounds. The series will shift back to Atlanta on Thursday for Game 6.

The Nuggets will face the offenseive juggernaut of the Phoenix Suns led by a Devin Booker who is absolutely on fire. Book dropped 47 points to lead the Suns pass the Los Angeles Clippers and close the series 4-1.

Making a hell of a one-two punch, Durant added 31 points but could only praise what he witnessed Booker do.

“It was spiritual,” Durant said. “His impact and his presence just means a lot to us. That was incredible to see and to be a part of.”
